It's score has increased again on the MAL! It's working Sup Forumsnons!

Kys

The fuck is this garbage show?

Astro Boy prequel

Watch it. It's not bad and quite funny.

I really like Atom and I'm all for having people watch it but you really need to kys

I know that we have to be edgy and everything, but MAL provides a feedback on the popularity of the anime.

Is anime on NHK ever good?

Well, this is the case.

cute

Can I watch this without having seen Astro Boy?

you have to read Pluto

Yes, it's a prequel to it.
Really? I haven't read it, how are they related?

No you don't

Got bored watching Young Black Jack and that other recent Tezuka-related thing (or was it some Tatsunoko crossover shit?) so I dunno if I want to invest my time on this

...

For now it's just one episode but it looks quite fun. The characters and their relationship is cute and confy to watch.

Tenma still a cute

I hope he'll be cute in tomorrow thread too!

>kys
You should all fuck off and kill yourselves.

I hate to be "that guy", but I think the manga is better. The anime is a pretty uninspired, low-energy effort so far and it's already made a bunch of changes I don't like or understand. Like why is Dr Lolo even at some rinky-dink amusement park parade? They stuffed a bunch of characters that appear later into this episode too which seems an unnecessary, if inoffensive, change. The way they contextualized Tenma getting hurt also makes less sense than in the manga. Ochanomizu is present for the test punch as well, but he's completely fine. And why would Tenma take all of his clothes off to have a bandaid applied on his arm? They rearranged the events, but didn't take care to alter them to fit the new material.

The scene where they're pulling each other's nose is also 100 times gayer than in the manga.

>And why would Tenma take all of his clothes off to have a bandaid applied on his arm?
He got them full of oil, Ochanomizu mentioned it

>The scene where they're pulling each other's nose is also 100 times gayer than in the manga
So the anime did make some improvement

I've read just the beginning of the first chapter when someone posted it in an old thread and I liked more they way the manga starts. I can't tell about the follow up. About the nose grab the gayest, the better, it was so cute!

Astro Boy freaked me the fuck out when I was a kid since the original kid died in a car accident and the dad went insane.

That's a pretty weak fix though. Oily clothes doesn't mean he's going to sit around in the buff like that. They could've just given him pants and that would've been fine. And having Ochanomizu present from the start gives a different impression to the scene as opposed to him rushing over to get Tenma for their part-time work. I guess I'm just being nitpicky, but it puts me off watching any more. I think I'll stick to the manga as long as scanlations hold up. Kasahara's art is much more appealing to me than the anime art anyway.

They took this line out too which is funny. There was a scene where Ochanomizu calls out to some girls from his seminar that was removed as well, so I guess they're conscious of that sort of demographic.

Best Opening of the season.

I've noticed that too. Now that you made me think about it I'm connecting the dots. Are they going full homo? I hope not, the gay nose grab was cute, but I've seen it just as true friendship.

Tenma can't be a homo, he gets married and has a son

Are they making fujobait out of a prequel of Tezuka's classic Astro Boy? Amazing. I wouldn't complain about a full homo but we'll see

They're not going to go full homo, but they'll probably play it up a lot more than the manga does. I hope they don't downplay how thirsty Motoko is though.

The animation and colours are cool.

So Motoko really wants to fuck big nose guy?

The OP director posted some process stuff on Twitter.

It feels like a Real Steel prequel.

Yeah.

Big nose is a lucky guy.

iss t good

Yep, I think it's a 7.5/10. For now it's rather funny and the characters are cute.

>you have to read Pluto

Pluto is to Astro boy as "The Ultimates" are to regular marvel comics.

Astro Boy doesn't intrigue me because it looks to "childish". Is just an impression or mine or it is like so? Then, is Pluto better? They story is a lot different?

What a pile of garbage this is. I want my time back.

>because it looks to "childish"

It was 1950s childrens manga, so I would hope so.

What about Pluto?

Pluto repackaged a classic astro boy "tournament arc" into a modern series in 2003 targeting a teenage audience.

Lterally what is this

The artstyle reminds me of french animation,

Remember kids, this is not how AI and robotics research actually looks like.

I kinda want to watch it but I've only ever read Pluto, I'm autism so I'd have to be familiar with the Astro Boy manga first, and right now I'm busy reading Buddha.
