Since Your Name technically is a 2016 release, I'd say so. I thought Kyoani did a great job here.

It’s absolutely amazing, yeah.

Why is her skirt so short? Is she compensating for something?

They were both 2016 releases.

Poor man's Your Name.

Must be her small dick.

Is there even anything that this adaptation done wrong?

Kept Ueno.

But she was cute too.

Maybe it's because I watched it in a theatre that I didn't enjoy it. Normalfags talking and eating loudly and the subs were hard to read.

same, group of 10-15 normies laughing louder than the movie EVERY time broccoli head appeared on screen,

Tsuki ga Kirei kills it.

Tsuki ga Kirei is industry taking Kimino Namae art, Silent Voice ost and direction, Hibike Euphonium acting and imitating Kumiko`s VA to create explosive masterpiece.

While Shittyplex tries still old way with name baiting and shit content with Re:Creators, real challenger appeared out of nowhere and swept the competition away - beating even the originals as it took all good parts from them.

>normies
Fuck off

If it is anything like the manga then it is probably trash. When Shouko tried to kill herself in the manga is when everything went south for the manga.

did anybody else feel unreasonably fucking depressed by the end of this movie?
> mfw all that fucking bullying of the deaf girl

She deserved it for being so weak. I only realized after she tried to kill herself that Ueno was right. She was right about Shouko and Shouko deserved that beating that her mother protected her from. I wish the dude had died saving her and the deaf girl would have to live with that regret everyday of her life.

>only available in east asia and anglosphere

I knew I should've waited for the BD release, but I thought that maybe the atmosphere of a theatre will improve the experience.

But no.The subs were white with a seriously thin black outline. I just couldn't enjoy it. I didn't feel any emotional attachment to any the characters. Maybe the film was just shit.

Kimi no Na wa. If you're going to be weeb enough to use the Japanese title, at least get the fucking thing right.

No, I felt depressed entirely reasonably.

*tips in your direction*

Fuck off Ueno

Why did it get so btfo by kimi no nawa

Yeah, I know it sounds like some edgy shit but Shouko lost any of my sympathy when she tried to kill herself.

Shouko deserved it for being so weak. The dude would've been better off with Ueno.

Love how Ueno beat the shit out of Shouko and then shows up for the school festival like it didn't happen.

The film adapted all the manga Or where does it end?

It was such a comfy thing to watch in the cinema
> mfw watching a comfy (albeit depressing) anime in a cinema that's mostly empty because no one in my city cares about anime

The suicide attempt scene in the movie is honestly pretty well done.

End at school festival

It’s nothing like Your Name.
Just because it came out at the same time...

I doubt I'll watch it. The disappointment of how trash the manga was after that still lingers in my mind. It was nice until then I suppose.

Yeah nah, you're just an arsehole.

The only thing I didn’t like about it was that some of the subs were not great, including at some key emotional moments in the film. There were one or two moments where they either ignored grammar or misspelled a word.
Other than that, brilliant movie. Watched twice, would watch again.

I'm really hopeful for it, but it hasn't been available in Canada yet. It'd have to be pretty good to top Your Name for me. But both of those aside, In This Corner of the World is another exciting release from last year.

>Ueno defenders
despicable

So why was Ueno so butthurt that even in highschool Shouya was still all over Shouko?

Been looking for this every where, where can I stream it?

>AOTY
jesus christ Sup Forums really has shit taste.

Yes. It was amazing.

>tfw can't find anywhere to stream it

Just you.

>Still no word for NA screening.

That and she knew she was guilty and tried to brush it off.

BD SOON

No, cute anime girls always wear short skirt

I have yet to watch this, I know BD soon and don't know sub when

Yesh 2016 AOTY

I wish subbers will translate the sign language.
I-it will happen right?

>he can't into sign language

They screwed up Shouko's grandma funeral scenes pretty badly I thought. Like, what were they trying to get across with the sisters and the butterfly? And what was with that out-of-place BGM?

D-dont tease me.

No. Everyone who actually read the original manga agrees that it's a terrible adaptation that truncates way too much of the story. The only people praising it are blind KyoAnuslickers.

Is there anything out yet? If not, when will BDs release?

Maybe those guys were deaf.

Maybe you're the normalfag with your perfect hearing.

I can see Commie doing a translation to American sign language.

her ears probably

They're both shitty romances but at least Your Name is competently made. Koe no Floptachi was a complete mess.

Are you an idiot?

This is the real trash.

BD not until December :(

I don’t have to have read the original manga to appreciate it’s a great anime though. It is its own thing.

It’s out on May 17th in Japan, senpai

It's actually less than a month away

A camrip of a scene.

twitter.com/R3BR0K/status/856935320939634690

I thought most people who read it were glad it cut out a lot of the dumb stuff.

I need to see it

Not him, it wasn't so bad but while they trimmed most of it, they kept characters that honestly didn't contribute to anything (since they cut most of their involvment), to me it felt like innecesary fanservice for manga readers. Ueno, Sahara, Kawaki and Satoshi should not be in the movie. It was somewhat unfocused as well, the manga had 7 volumes to beat around the bush and do whatever, but the movie was just 2 hours long.

>those hand gestures
fucking beautiful

Haven't seen the movie yet, but I'll say I was kinda hoping they'd remove most of the side characters too. Those complaints make good sense to me.

Nope.

>Ueno ... should not have been in the movie
Literally what. She was pretty much the main antagonist. It would have been a much shorter, worse movie without her.

I thought the movie was absolutely brilliant, but perhaps could have done better as a series instead of a movie.

dont mind me , i just want to find that sixlet

I'm getting tired of Yamada's style. It's almost as in-your-face as Shinbo's but not as creative.

Kill yourself.

She's just boring

You can predict almost every shot that's going to happen in every scene

>two characters talking
>cut to shoes/legs
>cut to desk
>cut to inanimate object
>blur
>shaky cam
>instagram filters
ZzZzZzZZ

She's only directed two anime outside of KnK though, three if you wanted to stretch it Hibike.

I like K-On best, feels like everything else lost some of the "cartooniness" - I'd say it's a Horiguchi thing, but Tamako had her too and TLS was no where near how K-On looked.

Who's your favorite kyoani director?

She's been episode director several times and it's very obvious when she's doing it. The Maidragon episode she directed was decent. I personally like her character acting, one of the best in the industry, but her framing skills are very limited, 2dimensional and basic, and after a while you start seeing a pattern, doesn't help that she loves her filters.

just wait three weeks

Another camrip scene.

twitter.com/R3BR0K/status/857145021946101761

I still don't really get the love for Your Name. I've seen it twice and it's very nice and cute, but not much more than that. I'd say The Girl Who Leapt Through Time is better.

THICC

Hyped as fuck

>THICC
Fuck off with your dumb twitter nigger slang.

>three lines of subtitles

Jesus Christ who does that.
I know it's covenient for them but it should be at least split into screenings with English and Indonesian(?) subs.
