I actually had AB account but it got suspended for inactivity.
It's amazing to me how many people didn't make a BBT account. You could still just open torrent pages in a private window or change the tracker in your torrent client without having to log in/out.

Fansubs were never at any point good. Maybe before like, say, 2005 or something but once the mkv format really took off, fansubbing sort of became a bit of a crapshoot for a long time.
