Another point that needs to be brought up is the delay, and the difference of advertising it before and after.

Speed Duels were not mentioned until after the series was delayed a month. If they were even in the original plan, I find it hard to believe they wouldn't talk about them.

An interview with Director Hosoda and Yoshida Shin of Series Direction confirms a few items.

The Speed Duel Format in the show will be similar to Riding Duels in 5D’s, but it also includes an up and down format besides just going straight forward, using your D-Board.

As well, there will be Duels in which Duelists stand on the ground, that will be referred to as Master Duels, that will run on the normal rules.
