carrier and walmart have started lay offs in babylon. why pay people anything. besides. fiat money has no value. it's only debt. babylon has only just now matched the low low corporate rates of leaf land. and theyll get the debts to match. we're both going down. stop sucking off like five people and start supporting the hundreds of millions of the rest of your countrymen. even the IMF of all people said trickle up doesnt work

The best part is the US has the highest corporate tax rate in the western world.

not any more

I don't think I've ever seen this many buzzwords contained in two lines of text.

which ones and why

>announced

either side is retarded for taking anything people promise at face value, only REAL ACTION matters.

The 1% are rewarding their burger bootlickers with a few drops for granting them an ocean of wealth. They could have given them those benefits at any time, but then poor ole little moneybags would only be able to afford 2 yachts instead of 3.

meanwhile walmart is closing a lot of stores

Corporate tax cuts are good as a rule but funding them by a deficit at pretty much full employment is a really bad idea. No shit if you just give people more money to spend they'll put it towards workers and invest it but thats not necessarily always a good thing especially when you're outside a recession and have a debt you should probably start paying down.

The Canadian minimum wage increase was pretty moderate, if economic research has taught us anything about the minimum wage its that small changes either direction won't have all that much impact on employment (if any). Business council will always say spell doom with minimum wage increases because they don't want to pay anymore than they have to.

The hours have already been cut and prices already have increase. I know because I have a parent who works at walmart.

might as well start buying car insurance and dying three years sooner on average, spending three times more per capita. i mean health insurance. and that's in america. so there ya go

user the minimum wage was only just increased its way too soon to say if it was a good policy move or not

What could even be good about it?

Higher wages for minimum wage workers

Good for the common man who earns wealth by the sweat of his own brow. Oh no those poor billionaires won’t be able to take their private jet out for a ride as often boo fuckin hoo.

Insanity.

Why do we need to pay them more? Has doing very basic labor or service become harder? No. Has demand increased for it? No. Are they suddenly providing more value to their employers? No. Is it just feels thing for uncharitable people to feel better about themselves for promoting it? Yes.

nothing, i see minimum wage as government interference that artificially changes the value of labor from what it would be in a price based competitive marketplace. an affront to capitalism

Well I guess the simple answer is because we can and it allows some redistribution without taxation, elasticity of minimum wage increases and employment is clustered around some very small negative value so moderate minimum wage increases aren't all that bad if only a few jobs are lost and minimum wage workers can take home a couple thousand more a year.

This just isn't true though

Because the purchasing power of their wage decreased with inflation as minimum wage laid stagnant.
So despite the number being the same, their real income was effectively lowered while profits increased.

Almost very nice digits. The real problem is with leadership. You have to ask which nation has the most glorious and internationally admired leader now.

Our minimum wages are garbage after you convert to American, what the flying fuck are you on?

>26 years after Card and Krueger
>STILL assuming minimum wage labour markets aren't monosponistic
Its well known the small changes to the minimum wage don't really change employment all that much. There are not that many firms that employ minimum wage workers so the 'market price' is not always a value that reflects the most efficient price.

Minimum wage is trash, but the Ontario minimum wage bump was way too fucking much at once, like a 20% boost throughout the entire province overnight.

yea because how powerful my leader looks definitely changes how much walmart pays me hourly

meanwhile walmart is raising its minimum wage to $11/hr. meanwhile walmart is giving bonuses up to $1000 to its employees.

>small changes
nigga read this

>Reaganomics worked last time, and certainly will work as intended again
Lmao stupid burgers you'll get what you deserve

Ok but this applies to all workers, not just minimum wagecucks. Is it a coincidence that the government makes policies that appeal to less qualified and less intelligent masses that want goodies for nothing and are willing to vote in droves for them? Yeah I am sure that's just a coincidence.

look!were faggots like you now!
trudeau pfft fuckin what the fuccccck man,why is the world so filled with these fuckin faggots now

>also lowered taxes for the middle class
>"HURR IDZ RAYGUNOMIGZ"
what did he mean by this?

yea this is true. I like strayas tiered minimum wage on age.
Something I think that is important to note of raising the minimum wage is that it lowers corporations incentive of dumping third worlders on a first world nation
Now if you meet someone who is pro-high minimum wage and pro-mass immigration call them a retard and hit them with the dildo they carry in their purse.

Thats fine if its a few drops, thats still a lot more than any shithole country. I mean fuck, Pakistan, lololol lalalal

everyone thinks turdo is a fucking faggot. What are you smoking, Canadian beaster bullshit? The world loves the D. Thats Donald Trump to you shitstick.

Has inflation reduced the effective pay works got? Yes.

Oh my god I recognize this posting style. You're that insane faggot that was posting like crazy like half a year ago.

Yachts and jets make manufacturing jobs faggot.

20% isn't huge, of course it'd be better if it was smaller and more drawn out. The classic example looks at an 18% increase in the minimum wage.

nber.org/papers/w4509

It's probably more important to look at how it tracks with real median wages and how long its been since the last increase.

Is the government responsible for inflation? Yes. Do we want the same crooks to try and "fix" any more problems for us? NO.

>yea this is true. I like strayas tiered minimum wage on age.
Burger speaks the truth. Best policy for fixing youth unemployment.

>higher taxes
>small ass fucking houses near a million dollars or more then a million
>higher wages= inflation
>refugees taking everything and muh free health care makes me wait more at the doctor

canada is a fucking joke, so is europe. We are probably one of the most normal economies on this planet. Socialism doesnt work when you invite a million-5 million refugees to come rape and pilliage.

Yeah well what we've done here is essentially priced high schoolers out of the job market. People born after 2000 won't get their first job until they graduate college. This will have some interesting outcomes, no doubt.

but they dont make more money its been shown in areas that raise min wage, the workers are given less hours and make very little more than before. not including raising prices in the area and firing employees

It very much does. We've watched wealth be reached from the working and middle classes and redistributed to the wealthy under threats of a hostage like crisis.

The problem with America's approach will be the ability to pay its debts down the road with slashing their tax revenue to hard.

Student minimum wage went no where.

They do though. Everywhere it's been shown that while working hours decreased, wages increased by larger outset.
Simply workers DID work less but ended up with $50-$100 more a month. For a minimum wage worker this is a huge boost. Given that the working class is far more likely to spend additional income, and spend it locally, this also boosts sales for many of the companies utilizing minimum wage labour and increases economic activity.

Leaf boomers created this mess and leaf boomers are the ones who'll escape unharmed by it.
Fuckers created a ponzi out of the public pension and then pulled the ladder up after themselves. Immigrants had to be brought in because the birth rate is plummeting and the same ponzi can't be replenished rapidly enough. Immigrants have caused massive wage stagnation and massive cost of living increases in the major cities.

Boomer fucks retiring onto our CPP contributions, ready with their popcorn to watch jobs get eradicated next year, unemployment to soar, social unrest to kick off further and the fucking taxpayer to be raped a little more.

Fuck the boomers, fuck the liberals and all who voted for them.

Bank of Canada never predicted 60,000 job losses.
Lazy journalists never read past the abstract or dived into the nitty gritty of what the numbers actually meant. It was shameful copy pasted journalism.
bankofcanada.ca/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/san2017-26.pdf

"In the structural model simulation, the increase in the minimum wage is captured as a negative labour supply shock that raises wages by 0.7 per cent. This shock reduces the demand for labour, leading to a decline in total hours worked of 0.3 per cent. If average hours worked remain unchanged, this would represent a loss of about 60,000
jobs by 2019.

On net, however, real labour income should be higher following the implementation of these measures relative to otherwise. This is because the 0.7 per cent increase in the level of aggregate real wages more than offsets the 0.3 per cent decrease in total hours worked"

People working LESS hours, and those hours totalling to about 60,000 jobs worth of hours, while taking home more income. This is NOT 60,000 people getting fired as the headlines have directly implied and certainly whats being passed around in shoddily thrown together memes and propaganda videos.
This was an outright failure by our large news outlets to do their damn job properly.

People working less and gaining additional income is a positive thing.

How about burgers start their own Penny Stock exchange and then the Canadian TSX scam will shut down.
Canada will go broke in weeks.
C'mon Trump. Canada is a bad deal for Americans, lets re negotiate a better deal.

Samefag Shill

Sources for any of this?

what is cherry picking??
implying a huge company like comcast doesnt fire people constantly for being retarded fuck ups.

Trump is going to destroy Trudeau when it comes to the NAFTA negotiations.
He's already made a mockery of Trudeau. Trudeau's response? Fuck trade, fuck jobs, the terminology used must be inclusive.

I hope Trump's deals piledrive the Canadian economy into the ground. Liberals need to be reprimanded for what they've voted for.

>walmart giving out bonuses to workers
>walmart also closing 60+ Sams Club stores and firing hundreds

But muh Trump!!!

Minimum wage is bullshit.

I think it's a dyke. I've been seeing her more and more. She's an incoherent attention whore.

And this doesn't include Waste Management, Walmart, and the 50 billion in investment promised by Comcast.

What's actually hilarious is when you take into consideration the Canadian dollar is worth about 75 cents US, and your tax rates, your minimum wage is a little under $USD 9/hr

Brick and mortar jobs are dead anyways dude, fedex/ups are hiring a few thousand more anyways.

Better unemployed than employed for less than $15/hr

>online killing retail stores, a massive source of min wage jobs
>lol better make it impossible for them to hire workers by increasing min wage (which leads to a proportional increase in wage for higher positions.)
>fast food, another min wage sector switching to robots
>lol better speed up the process

min wage is a massive meme anyway, all to get people to ignore wage deflation in real jobs.

>better to be homeless than work for $15 an hour

>meanwhile walmart is closing a lot of stores

Good, Walmart is a piece of shit exploitative company that raped rural America by redistributing the wealth it aggregates in cities to unprofitable stores so that rural communities depend on them and their cheap Chinese bullshit. The Waltons should be charged with treason. They've done more to harm the US population than any foreign government could hope to.

>homeless

only if you are white. Poor invaders get free housing. luckily white people have families so they can not work and still be supported.

> $11 a hour is still less than $15.

Even with all the cuts which will be reversed when workers start talking about unions or just go to a different job that doesn't do this, folks are still coming out on top.

Please verify that any if any of that actually happened.

It is literally more financially efficient to not work until you graduate uni and just stack skills like learning to program in C and use autoCAD while being supported by family members.

Not my problem if nu-Sup Forums had a shitty bloodline and had to take the non-linear path to financial self-sustainability and fuck you money.

We're recovering just fine, thanks for asking.

Communism hurts the common man most.
