If I use this power, i'll die

>if I use this power, i'll die
>doesn't die

>It's time to use..that...
>Damn, I didn't want it to come to this
literally nobody can name an example of this that wasn't complete trash.

>"We'll remember this!"
>Never seen again.

>Hero sacrifices himself in order to save the world.
>he actually dies and series finishes.

>Its the MC doesnt avenge innocent people by killing the bad guy
>The bad guy suddenly turns good

it's not possible to die when you aren't killed

>Villain does bad shit
>Hero shouts I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU!

Im sure he's really concerned

>Story takes place in the spawn of a night

>An idiot makes a post and does not know how to spell words

>in the spawn of a night

what?

>magic exi-

Kenshin's final move kinda fucked Shishio up even though he thought he was soooo clever

>if I use "that" the universe might be destroyed
>use it anyway

>If you use "that" power it'll take years off life

Kenshin didn't beat Shishio and would have gotten fucked raw if Shishio's blood didn't literally evaporate

Sword Art Online did it well

>"That"

This shit right here is the dumbest thing and something I'll never get about anime. What is it with the Japanese and forgiveness?

>all mc's friends are dead, mc dies alone.

>finally finishing saint seiya omega
>three gold saints use the forbidden sacrifice technique and die
>they're fine a few episodes later with no explanation
>final boss literally kills all the MC's friends
>MC can literally see their ghosts
>they're totally fine after the final boss is defeated with no explanation

I just realized that maybe in the saint seiya universe dying is equivalent to being just knocked out. It is really bad writing though.

This is a really lazy one because usually it's never mentioned again, and even if it is taken literally you know it's going to end long before it would affect the character.

>They use it anyway
>Multiple times
>After a timeskip said character is a old grandpa/grandma living healthy

You could aregue that it was Shishios fault for not getting the job done before his blood evaporated.

Despite Dragonball Super getting a lot of shit I like that Kioken x 10 Blue fucked up Goku after using it days later and a senzu bean couldn't fix him, and he never uses it again.

>Universe completely fine

>Promises Master he'll never you this forbidden technique
Proceeds to use it in every battle.

Well MC will always be an exception when it comes to this.

Sometimes it gets done right. That mage kid in Rave drained his lifespan to fuel a big laser spell, and he went from a kid to teenager to adult to ossan to Gandalf in a few pages as he kept pouring more energy into it.

I want to see some of that

>We won with the power of friendship

>we lost because the villains used the power of friendship

Go to bed, Hoji. Shishio would have been cut in half had Kenshin used a normal sword.

2 0 Y E A R S

>things are bad because we don't understand each other

In Japanese when you use the present tense there's also an implied suppositive future meaning.

>if you use this move, you'll lose your abilities
>recovers said abilities anyways

>implying
Ever though about what would happen to Kenshin if Shishio decided to use his sword when he held him by the throat those two times?

>and he never uses it again.
he's used it casually against the dog, didn't even need preparation just used it and nothing happened

>if you keep using that move you will lose your powers!

>proceeds to spam the move every fight

>if you kill him you'll be just like him!
>kill him anyway

>two characters are sparring with swords
>dude A gets knocked back and his sword flies out of his hand
>dude B says some dramatic bullshit and/or they talk for a little while
>*ching*
>dramatic shot of A's sword sticking in the ground between them

Chrno crusade actually going through with it.

Think anons remember this show?

>gets to fight villain later in the story
>forgives the villain completely and leaves no serious injuries

>I felt his killer intent!

But he didn't, and he also let the fight drag on for too long, which is why Kenshin was able to beat him.

dumb frogposter

>dies without ever using power

>Sword Art Online did ____ well
hahahaha

Go back to facebook, kid

...

>If you get killed, you'll die
>gets killed
>doesn't die

i miss bsd. discussion threads never.

Just like in Code Geass.

Try reading Devilman. Although I guess he technically doesn't die alone.

>character gets memories erased as part of a self sacrifice
>recovers memories quickly afterward anyway

This

>guess I'll have to use..... that....

>its a gun

Even worse
>gets memories erased
>stalls part of the plot until memories are regained
>loses memories again

>This is my strongest move
>It has no drawbacks
>I just never wanted anyone too know until i really need it
>Literally the strongest move
>Never uses it again

Naruto did this twice back in the day:

>Rock Lee's limbs are shattered
>surgery has a very high chance of killing him
>he miraculously survives but isn't nearly as retardedly strong as before
>has only like 2 solo fights after that, both times he struggles a lot
That time it was okay, it's this next one I can't fucking stand:

>Naruto uses his rasenshuriken
>his "chakra cells" get fucked up by the "wind blades" generated by the attack
>he might never be able to fight again; an entire chapter is wasted on this drama
>eventually he just powers up to the point where it isn't a problem

>Uses OP move that fucks the MC up for life
>Friend remembers his wish granting sibling
>MC is now not fucked up and no one loses anything
>Can now use siblings power anytime they want because no drawback for his favorite Onii-chan

He has never used KKX10 again since Hit, not even against Zamasu, he only uses normal Kaioken.

This fucking shit right here.

>anime with weird hair colors
>nobody ever comments on them

Guilty crown

Am i the only one that can unironically feel this?
am hapa

>if I use this power, i'll die
>doesn't die
>haha I tricked you guys

>blonde hair
>eyes are different colors
>"one of my parents is from europe lol"

S3 when?

oh nice he has one, too bad he's not crying

Is there a manga other than HxH that does this?

No. Thank god too because it is retarded. Shit writing.

>No
To be fair, the dragon balls in DB also have the problem, though, at least has a bit better writing to them (Like if you die by natural causes, you stay dead)

At least the whole premise of the show is that the dragon balls can grant any wish. In HxH it was a pure asspull to save the MC.

Wait so gon can use nen again?

>Wait so gon can use nen again
Pretty sure he used to nen to climb the tree at the end of the anime

No not yet, supposedly he can't use nen anymore, but I'm sure there will be some other bs that will happen so that he can use it again (if the manga ever makes some progress that is).

Of all anime, fairy tail actually did it well

>If kill him, I'll be just like him

Context? Never got interested enough in Fairy Tail

...

Villians killed the good guys and picrel used her power to turn back time, with all her power used she only succeeded to go back 1 second in time.
She turned into a granny and couldn't believe it only turned the time back by a second.
It gave the good characters a memory of how they were going to die the next second so they can avoid death and win this time.
Not bad for a shonen.

>I am UNDEFEATABLE etc.
>Hero about to deal the final blow
>MA-MASAKA!

>villain steals woman

>"Let her go!"

Seriously?

>It gave the good characters a memory of how they were going to die the next second so they can avoid death and win this time.
A second wouldn't be enough time to process said memory much less react or have time to physically move. That character also would have had to use her powers one second after they died which sounds high unlikely to begin with.

I just checked the wiki, it was 1 minute not one second

Ultear despairingly discovers that only one minute had been rewound, and lifelessly collapses to the ground, thinking her life was only worth a single minute and that she was unable to save a single life. Unbeknownst to her, her spell had caused everyone in the world to clairvoyantly envision one minute into the future, preventing Gray Fullbuster's death and the tragedies surrounding Droy, Bacchus, and Macao Conbolt. By momentarily predicting their enemies' moves thanks to Ultear's sacrifice, the battling Mages are able to begin their counterattack.

How would someone know if they would have an ability like that?

A minute still isn't much time but at least it is more plausible than a second.

...

She's a mage of time
her magic Arc of time:
A Lost Magic that allows Ultear to manipulate the "time" of organic and inorganic, but non-sentient, objects, "moving" them either back or forward in time and thus changing their condition.[106] She claims that this kind of Magic is perfect for fighting Element molding Mages, and that, in the Ultimate Magic World, Arc of Time would allow her to change the sad memories of her childhood into happy ones.
Prior to the time-skip, the Arc of Time couldn't directly affect a person.

>h-he moved faster than the speed of light

>h-hayai!

>He moved half a second in time

>He is too fast!
>Impossible!
>Nani?!
These all make me laugh.

You forgot

> omae wa owari da
> Proceeds to lose and die

This is always so stupid because if they moved faster than the speed of light, it means they could just travel 8 times around the Earth in a second.

>I was only pretending to be weak!

>I was only pretending to be retarded for 10 years
