Fermi Paradox

Does anyone have an answer to it? Why are we alone? Maybe we're just on the fringes of the galaxy.

ayy lmaos are ignoring us. We are probably held in isolation until we develop enough. UFOs and shit like that may be ayy lmao criminals and smugglers.

we need to get moving !!!

the time is now

jpl.nasa.gov/news/news.php?feature=7034

I'm not a big fan of simulation theory.

Buy it would explain the Fermi Paradox.

this, ayy lmao don't give a fuck about some monkeys which have not yet reached level 1 of civilization on Kardashev scale, also ufos can be some reconnaissance and surveillance ships.

The documentary Unacknowledged provides a pretty interesting answer. Idk if i fully believe it though.

FTL is really really really hard and nobody in out galaxy has cracked it yet.

All advanced, technological civilizations died out in a span of 2 or 3 centuries, is my theory.

Nuclear war, or they just burnt through their resources and they collapsed to pre-industrial technology before they could ever colonize another world. Or they did, but it stalled out for similar reasons.

Even a thousand years is a instant on a geological time scale required for life to develop in the first place.

Probably other technological civilizations existed but died out forever ago and life isn't common enough that two such societies would likely exist at once.

So I"m fairly sure we are alone in the universe.

we live in equilibrium we need to get moving

soon we will be sitting ducks

dont you guys get it

aaaaargh

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entropy_(order_and_disorder)

we're all going to die !!!!

somebody has to tell spaniard and portugese that ayy lmaos have gold and ayy lmao tight pussy. Or to russians that they have fur so they can create more fur hats.

Nobody will, probably.

Far space travel will more than likely turn out to be an exploit rather than straight up FTL.

Basically this.

just tell swedes that aliens are oppressed and when the alien refugee ship lands we should jump them and steal their ship.

Maybe we are just in the middle of an interstellar empires territory, they block singals in and out with some sorta signal scramblers and are even now trying to groom us into becoming good little servitor race.

If you were the galactic hegemony of peace, would you let us in?

Space is a lie.

Leftism is the great filter.

"gravity you retard! gravity!"

or tell you bongs that they aren't civilised
>ship lands we should jump them and steal their ship
you know how terran empire ended?

Because as every civilisation advances, the chance of a Trump-like leader being elected approaches one, and after the inevitable collapse there's no more civilisation

One theory is that we might be some sort of early birds.
The universe is relatively young and our galaxy is in an age where the turbulences just died down like less radiation from super novas and the forming of planets and suns cause less destruction etc.
Considering how long (sentient) life needs to develop its very likely that all those experienced a mass-extinction long before they could develop further (if they came into existence)

>There are people that genuinely believe this.

Lots of potential answers

They are so advanced they can hide them selves from us
Their technology may mimic natural process (stellar engineering etc)
They may be so different we dont recognise them
Distance
Etc etc

I think they are ironic. I doubt anybody could be so retarded to not understand how things work

Humans are completely alone and the Universe is absolutely devoid of any form of life except for planet Earth.

We all know the real ayy lmaos are the space elves in finland

spooky

why would such higly advanced civilization need human servants?

Or a school bus ecuivalent taking ayy lmao kids on field days to probe local red necks anal cavities.

All is God's creation.

Why would Merkel import Arabians?

They just didn't find us yet. We emit tons of radio waves but they have still to reach them

the only truth is the imperial truth.

fyi the first radio signal aliens will receive is Hitler at the berlin Olympics due to the power of the new radio stations used.

>Considering how long (sentient) life needs to develop its very likely that all those experienced a mass-extinction long before they could develop further (if they came into existence)
That's the thing though Hans, we only have ourselves by which to create a metric and there's huge variability even in humanity. Take a look at Japan, middle of the 19th century they were essentially a feudal society. They didn't require the hundreds of years the west needed.

I don't know man, I have met people who BELIEVE in socialism. Also rabid leftists..

...

high civilization would understand that they don't need them, like germany doesn't need them either, but unlike potential ayy lmaos, germans aren't advanced civilization.

Any assumption is valid enough, im personally a massive scifi nut and i'd love to meet (((aliens))) one day, but personally i believe that so much specific shit happened to Earth that allowed for intelligent life to form that the chances of all of that happening are very likely greater than 10^24 which is the estimated number of planets in the universe. I mean change one variable on Earth like making gravity 1% stronger and evolution goes in a direction so different the planet today would be unrecognizable.

1st contact

We're not alone. We're being drained of energy.

I talk about the amount of time bacteria need to develop into more complex lifeforms.

Space is really fucking big.

literally best video I can think of in regard to your question youtube.com/watch?v=7cidUaUCb5M&t=289s

Space is fake news.

they are all playing hide n seek with us.

anyway space is for faggots nerd.

Well think about our own future when white people will be genocided in a century. Do you actually rhink we'll make it to the stars?

I refuse to believe that a British person is this stupid. You had the benefits of a first world education even if it doesn't feel like it. Don't spit in its face.

Thousands of years is not even a blink in cosmological time. Even then see 'precession' in relation to the north star.

I gotcha, for the sake of playing devil's advocate though maybe it's possible that multicellular life can evolve quicker than it did here on earth.

Because God is real and only created life on Earth. All that garbage in space serves a purpose, but not the purpose of inhabiting life.

But they have.

>not realising space if infinitely big and expanding
user... please
Even if there was a civ capable of FTL it wouldn't immediately come to us

also kurzgesagt has pretty nice vids on it, vsauce too - even if they are kike'd

there is no space, all of you are believing a lie

>to probe local red necks anal cavities
I always wondered why do the ayylmao men do this. Why probe anus sphincter of human ass exactly?

we're not

...

>Apparent
its apparent that you are a fool

This is the best picture of a star other than the sun we have (Antares).

All societies collapse due to degeneracy once they achieve a certain technological level. 9000 genders etc.

My hunch is that all civilizations eventually end up producing AI, and then inevitably AI wipes them all out.
I see now way that AI turns out well, and yet I also see no way that AI does not get invented (save some other disaster hits us first).

i have a theory that their spaceships are powered by ass juice.

The universe is big and we've existed for virtually no time.

He's not even worse than Bush Jr. or David Cameron for that matter, what are you bitching about?

>What is centrifugal force.
Because they do too.

Why?

Well... I can tell you about MY spaceship.

Only plebbit thinks in terms of the fermi paradox,I'll give you a pro tip fermi never came up with this paradox and it is for even a paradox

Men of Iron are forbiden. They were probably tainted by Chaos

We are the Universe.
So if Universe managed to spawn itself this way, it is ridiculous to say that we are alone. Space is vast.

Dark Forest.

Why you retards want anyone come knocking are out of your minds. Please tell me what happened when the white man came to the new world?

If others came from the stars to earth we would all be fucked.

haha so a super massive structure like a star is going to move millions of miles in a 5 year span?
>just that star
OK.. you proved nothing, but validated what i already suspect.

>mexican intellectuals

>why do ayys like assplay?
Because aliens are the supreme faggots of the universe.

You're on the wrong board OP. The best you'll get from us is that it has something to do with the jews.

>Does anyone have an answer to it?
Of course, there are hundreds of possible explanations.

The one I think is the most likely is that c really is a fundamental constant that can not be overcome.
Thus no sane inter galactic species will risk being discovered by others and all are keeping quiet.

wtf fucking Sup Forums x

Great Filter. We're either the forerunners or the tail end.

We are the most advanced life in this galaxy. Couple that with that fact that life is very rare and you have a lot of empty space.

i don't know if there's intelligent life out the but if there is we need to kill them as fast as possible. we have to be able to shoot nukes out of our solar system. we probably won't be able to blow up their entire planet but we really need to kill every single one of them, don't try to communicatr with them.

>We are the most advanced life in this galaxy.
That is EXTREMELY unlikely.

In such a situation assuming the most unlikely thing possible is a stupid Idea, especially if you consider that the universes is ancient compared to the human race.

>haha so a super massive structure like a star is going to move millions of miles in a 5 year span?
Why not? We saw it moving and we know how far away it is thanks to its parallax measurement (it's one of the closest stars, so it's really easy to measure it accurately).

>just that star
It's just the most obvious case, most other stars have smaller changes as well, see a list of important stars here: wwwadd.zah.uni-heidelberg.de/publikationen/apf/

>Fermi paradox

The Fermi Paradox is only a paradox mathematically because we can't quantify how rare/hard is it for life to emerge, to survive and to evolve into something sentient.

If you ever watch a video about the fermi paradox, explaining the equation, you'll see everytime that the "life able to exist and develop" part is completely unknown and is just quantified randomly.

Most people think it's because Space, between celestial objects is too far appart. And it's a bit true, our own radio signals from 100 years ago barely made it past the star closest to us.

But Time is much more of a problem:
Can a civilisation last a million years? A billion?

All unanswered questions.

We could potentially be the "first" sentient and technology advanced life, in our Galaxy, in our side of the Cosmos, or the first civilisation altogether.

It's hard to say, because of the uncertainty of the equation.
But 14 billion years, and all the chaos of the early universe, it safe to say that the universe is young, compared to the infinity of time ahead.

When the dinosaurs that invented space travel return to earth, all will be revealed..

>Roswell was an ayy courier
>Pyramids are traphouses

>Why are we alone?

what makes you think we are?

>most advanced life in this galaxy

What information do you have that let you come to this point of view?

Your fucking out of your fucking mind if you really belive this.

Due to the numbers in play there are trillions of races with much higher tech then us.

>My hunch is that all civilizations eventually end up producing AI, and then inevitably AI wipes them all out.
That still doesn't explain why the AI that wipes them out doesn't go on to colonize the universe.

We are on an outer arm of our spiral galaxy.
I like our position in the universe. If a hoard of ravenous aliens have been wiping out other species in the center where planets are concentrated, we have fucking time before they reach us.

>The Fermi Paradox is only a paradox mathematically because we can't quantify how rare/hard is it for life to emerge, to survive and to evolve into something sentient.
This.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fermi_paradox#Hypothetical_explanations_for_the_paradox

This desu

>We could potentially be the "first" sentient and technology advanced life, in our Galaxy, in our side of the Cosmos, or the first civilisation altogether.
This seems plausible

Humans eat anything we can, even if it will kill us(tide pods). Would you want to make contact with us knowing we will most likely eat your kids

Just EXTREMELY unlikely.

The distances may just be too large to travel
We may be doomed to an eternity of lone existence, while the universe is buzzing with life.

Unless someone has discovered FTL travel.
