So now that the dust has settled, was it a masterpiece?

So now that the dust has settled, was it a masterpiece?

Better than anything Makoto Shitkai could ever produce that's for sure

Better than the previous Kyoani movies for sure.

Controversial opinion, it's the best manga adaptation since K-On and the best Kyoani work in general.

It can't be a masterpiece when the source material wasn't good to begin with.

mah nigga.

Shit taste, Tamako Love Story has no equal.

this nigga

REEEEEEEEEEEE

Source material is 6/10, film is 9/10

Nigga please.

The movie suck tho.

very bad. source material was mediocre at best; movie was a further gutted version of it.

it's worse than not enough character development, there was zero character development, so why should anyone care or get invested in the drama?

Yes, yes it was

I just watched it for a second time, I'm seriously impressed.

>Overshadowed by actual brilliance

It's like the Hateful Eight to Disney's Star Wars.

K-On's manga was better.

It was very good, but I wouldn't call it a masterpiece.

Some of the cuts (the movie bullshit) were good, some of them like
were handled poorly.

OST was great.

I was told that I was going to hate it
But I liked it, quite a lot, kept my attention, it isn't a masterpiece but it was kinda good

I haven't seen it yet, been too busy doing things to get work, only to accidentally close my file and lose an hour or so of progress,

a masterpiece of shit.

>Source material is 6/10, film is 9/10
My nigga.

Yes

If you say otherwise you're just spouting meme contrarian shit head
>muh forced drama
>no kid act like that, I'm an expert trust me
>muh favorite scene in the manga
>muh kissu ending

How do you say "Kyoani finds a way" in sign language?

>Don't have diferent/negative opinions because is a meme

fuck off

Agreed.

KyoAni always trascends the source material.
For example, they made a great show from dogshit like Amagi

/thread.

Nevermind I found it

Something found a way

No.

That's not true. An adaptation can take as much or as little from the source material as it needs. The merits of the end result is solely incumbent on the work of the adaptation and not the source.

This. KyoAni somehow made it enjoyable to watch, at least.

B L A C K E D

Hot

It needs a part where Ueno watches Shouko and Shouya fuck. Stupid bitch needed to be brought down a couple of pegs.

I disliked it took out some of my favourite parts of the manga like
The moms getting drunk together
The scenes where the perspective is from Shoko and all the sound is messed up
and pic related

>REEEE I DEMAND MY ANIMUS TO BE 1:1 REPLICA OF MANGO
People like you are the reason why most adaptations are stale shit

I don't want a 1:1 replica. I wished the movie cut more out honestly. The supporting cast was poorly handled if they were going to cut out the movie making arc they should have cut out the characters that depended on that for development. An adaption SHOULD include the best parts and trim the fat.

It was good, but it had too much drama. 7/10

Was the race-mixing sub-plot in the source material?

Nah he's complaints are legit, since he's talking about a few specific scenes. It's not like the Fate autists complaining about UBW when it aired.

My fries could use your salt.

I liked it, Definitely better than kimi no na wa so its automatically 10/10 but they totally skipped on ishida getting punched scene. Doesn't matter though, that shit would of been too infuriating to watch.

Shouko was barely a character in the manga, and instead of rectifying that, Kyoani gave her even less screentime. She's basically juts a plot device.

>le settled dust

You know what to do.
