The only downside is that she almost became a divine spirit because of the lance magical properties, and at least in one timeline she did became a goddess (Lion King). Negating the effects is possible but it almost made her lose her humanity, Arturia Lancer Alter comes from this scenario.

The playable Lancer Artoria in your and the OP's picture is just a fanservice character meant to act as a 'nice' Lion King variant who kept her humanity. She has no real presence in the story and only exists so fans of Lion King can have a knock off of her.
