Tfw lost count of how much anime and manga I've consumed

>tfw lost count of how much anime and manga I've consumed
>still thousands upon thousands anime, movies, OVAs and manga I haven't watched/read yet
I think I'm slowly losing my mind here

I've gotten to a point where I can't stand watching anything that's less than decent.

>watching that much anime

You should honestly kill yourself for having such shit taste OP.

Not your blog.

Just watch more, till you die.

Get a myanimelist and you won't lose count.

Buuhuu

>still playing one anime at a time at normal speed

This. Started 5 years ago, have 50 days wasted

So? Keep watching and reading. Having hobbies is fun.

Keep going user, your wizard powers will start developing at 65% anime consumed.

Congratz on reaching my level from 15 years ago.

You are like baby.

...

>literally watched over 50 animes

I've literally become the anime god

You must feel too nostalgic to get rid of all those pirated anime tapes. I might be too if I was you. It must have been comfy watching those with a CRT TV.

But now superior versions of all those anime that look 10x better can be stored on only one hard drive.

You if have watched around 200 shows, you probably already watched all worthwhile and 'must-watch' shows. After that it's just a search for a hidden gem amongst a pile of shit anime.

His tapes will survive world war III and be what future generations derive their culture from as they rebuild society. Will your hard drive?

Those VHS tapes are all going to be dead in another 15 years.

I'm on 230 just TV shows, not counting OVA/ONA and movies, and I still have so many must-watch shows on my list. All the World Masterpiece Theaters. So much mecha. So many Magical Girls. I have so fucking much to watch.

just use MAL

there is no space in patlabor

You're far too late to fix anything.

Then you just watched trash up until now.
99% of anime is pure garbage.

just use whiteout bro

I've watched 1.5% of all anime according to that MAL stats site.

And half of that is One Piece

>not watching multiple animes at the same time
Pleb

>being on the absolute bottom level of a consumer who just wants to watch everything
Some day you will crash and burn and then only the rope will be left since all those years you were a mindless empty piece of shit that always lived with the eyes locked at the future, watching things for the purpose of finishing them and not the momentary concentrated enjoyment.

Watching as much as you can in your early fandom is important, it helps you develop a sense of taste.

Sadly, many weebs only stick to shonen shit and forever have shit taste.

That's not a big deal. Can you remember how many books you've read or how many movies you've seen?
Keeping an obsessive list and rating every show you watch isn't normal.

Being obsessive about consuming entertainment is not normal.

Why should that matter?

It is all that matters. Keeping a list is only the effect not the cause. The root problem is being obsessive about entertainment.

It's like saying keeping track of your rape victims is not normal. You're focusing on an irrelevant detail.

Just because he's watched them doesn't mean he liked all of them. I've forced myself to complete plenty of shows I didn't really care for

If you aren't obsessive about entertainment then you shouldn't be on this board.

This is not what I am saying and this is not what this is about and you know it. It's about self awareness. The soccer mom who is obsessive about watching TV and sees it as a relaxation method or the teenager who spends half his lifetime text messaging and sees it as healthy social activity. Don't be delusional about something just because you like it, know what it does to you and put your expectations accordingly so that you will have no regrets.

Two people can watch the same anime and it's possible for one to waste his time doing so and for another to get a lot of value out of it.

Ranma
Evangelion

The only two must watch anime I know
There are plenty of decent ones, like Lovelive, hibike! euphonium, Code geass etc
and some classics, but evangelion is also a classic but I wouldn't watch it for that alone, I don't see any value in praised anime due to their cultural cliches of that time.

You said the root problem is being obsessive about entertainment. There is nothing wrong with being obsessive about entertainment. Also both of your examples are dogshit. What point are you even trying to make? Whatever it is, it has nothing to do with what was being said.

The third time you are getting defensive here. This makes it pointless for me to continue.

How can this be the third time I'm getting defensive if I've only replied to you 2 times before?

>Watchlist keeps getting bigger faster than I can complete it

You should clean it up every once in a while and think about if you really want to watch this or if it's just second or third priority.

>dirty pair
>7-12-19-10-16
>dirty pair
>2-25-25-23-24

This year I watched just slightly over 300 series(no including hentai which is way over 350 series and 50 bookmarked) and I have 315 more in my want to watch bookmarks.

I only watch complete series so that makes is easier since I can finish a 12 episodes series in one sitting and I only bookmark anime that piqued my interest. I haven't watched airing anime in almost 4 years

I really wish I started using MAL years ago because or used some other method of keeping track because it has become a mess, I started using Taiga like 3 months which should make things easier specially when it comes to tracking series like Pokemon.

This month I've doing nothing but watching movies since I'm burn out of anime after watching all Beyblade series.

Post 'em

It's not that bad desu

...

How does it compute days of manga read?

Don't know for sure but a simple calculation gives 8 minutes per chapter.

I doubt 99% of people can keep track of manga read. I used to just read random stories without even looking at the name for years in the early 2000's. It would take way too much time to catalog, especially when with Taiga I just click all the episodes when I watch the show.

>Can you remember how many books you've read
Goodreads
>or how many movies you've seen?
IMDb

Can you remember how many breads you have eaten in your life?

MyBreadList

Probably around 1000.

that's a big breads

Im at the same point. I still have so many genre defining, hidden gem, or just generally cool looking anime to watch, I feel like I do a disservice to myself watching the seasonal stuff

>being this edgy
So whats the point here?
Do you have an obsession over anime? Then guess what? its only to get worse.
Nowadays we have a ton of series being produced and most are shit.
Whe have more studios than ever before and many are losing money.
In their desperation to make money, they try to appeal to broad audiences and rabid fanbases, Themes that were "forbidden" are now explored, but not for the sake of artistic expression, but to get even more money.
Some anime is getting shocking scenes in an effort to get some attention.
So I expected that you already saw the human centipede, or at list that Euphoria shit, because you are in for a shitfest without ending!
Sell your stuff, invest all in your medical insurance before they found you you are going to snap!! Because when you do, you'll need the insurance company to cover your years long stay on the psychiatric ward's on the room with the thickest cushioned walls!

OH! And by the way, post pics!!
On a second thought who cares? BTFO already

I feel like I've watched a lot over the last 5 years. I went through my collection and tossed it all into taiga and apparently I've only finished 150 shows. It really feels like more

>130 days with only 410 completed
Hi shounenshitter.

I'm a sports anime enthusiast and I don't watch one shot OVAs without good reason so it all makes sense.

Why not just let taigi update them for you?

...

Are you a net NEET parasite or what?

I only work when I need the money.

Me too, it just happens I tend to need the money all the time, what do you even do?

For you.

So you're one of those Alaskan construction workers then? I don't know of anything else that allows you to stockpile money quickly enough to NEET for most of the year a binge multiple shows in a single day.

It works if he has a special skill he can easily get commissions with.

> finish a 12 episodes series in one sitting
Don't do that, you're reducing the enjoyment you get from a series. The time you spend thiking about the show between watching episodes is also important.

I'm not Alaskan but December two years ago I made $34K alone in that month.

Doing what?

Stuff

Sucking dicks I imagine

So it was illegal shit or at least you are trying to make it sound like that.

Something illegal then? Tor market drug dealing? Prolific furry porn artist? IRL drugs? Guns?

...

According to kitsu I'm at 650 completed titles.
Haven't even watched a lot of old stuff or mecha either.
Last time I checked I was at like 4 months worth of watch time.
Would post time stats but they haven't implemented it.

No, I've never deal with drugs but I've had one guy gift me like $10000 of weed for free once, which I gave away most of because it was a lot of and just driving home with it made me super paranoid.
I just sell stuff, I don't always make lots of money but I save everything I can.

>Gift me $10000 worth of weed
>I just sell stuff
Oh so you sell stolen goods. Is it really that profitable?

It's been at least 2-3 seasons since I have watched anything, I am surprised I still browse this board. Anime has just really gone to shit, I dunno what else to say. Nothing catches my interest anymore. Even if there is something it's usually just 1 show out of a season because half the shit out there is just advertisements for LNs/manga and they only bother to continue if the BDs sell well. It's quite disheartening to see that continually happen. Then there's the lazy shit like Berserk where they try to use computer animation and it ends up making the show look like poorly done PS2 RPG cutscenes.

As for manga, most of the stuff I am interested in reading is stuff I am simply stockpiling chapters of. There's quite a few series which I just don't want to read until they finish publishing. Assuming the authors don't fucking die before finishing or put it on "hiatus" which is simply another term for "I don't want to finish writing it"

I wish i DID something like you, at the very least.
My entire year so far has been going to college where all i do is browse Sup Forums for a few hours, go immediately home, amd lay down on my bed reading more threads for the rest of the day. I must stay in this place for over 14h a day.
I do nothing, its been weeks since i bothered to even watch a anime or play a game. I dont feel sad, i dont feel happy, all i feel is empty.

Just take up something productive slowly. Most people who want to escape a wasteful life try to go cold turkey and crash after a week.

Today get a productive hobby and invest 10 minutes in it. Tomorrow increase it to 15 minutes and so on. It's easy if you are patient enough to not burn yourself.

No, why do you guys always assume it has to be illegal,
it's just opportunistic shit like buying or selling used cars for profit, etc.
One time we(one friend and cousins) came a cross a deal of corn really cheap, we bought tons of it and then sold it as bird food.

>average above 7
Eww

I'm usually like that. I waste all my time doing anything but watching anime, despite the fact that I have so many series I want to watch

I'm pretty much 4 weeks behind in every show this season, I've settled for watching them in 2x and just slowing down for fanservice just to get through them

I dont rate anymore. Thats just left from when I used MALupdater and had to rate things to mark it as completed. I'd just rate everything 8 or 7

Because flipping only really works in videogames and tends to be an unstable/unreliable source of income. It also requires a large initial investment.

Selling illegal goods can return large sums in short order (like $34k in one month) and is always in demand.

Unless you're not American and grew up wealthy in a third world country, "selling stuff" sounds like a lie.

Sounds to me like you're just not on the look out for good deals.

Just tell me what illegal goods you sell. You don't seriously expect me to believe you're not a criminal when you admit to a "friend" just "giving" you ten thousand fucking dollars ($10,000) worth of weed, do you?

>doesn't enjoy anime as much as others
>thinks that makes him better

That is a funny story, turns out the guy that gave me the weed is son of the man that sold the land where we currently live to my deceased father more than 20 years ago.
This isn't the first time I've had people gift me weed anyway, one of my ex-best friend once game a plant the cultivated, shit was like two meters tall it barely fit in my Ford Explorer, which by the way I got in a deal for just $500 perfectly working, even the original transmission.

Why would you willingly watch something you think is garbage, anyway?

Sometimes you just have to watch a shit show for a character you like. Or maybe the show is utter garbage and you know it but you still come back and watch it because its remotely entertaining

Because anime is primarily made for the dick.

i sometimes wish i would forget everything ive watched just so i can enjoy the highschool battle shit again.

What do you guys do when you're having trouble finishing a show that is well received by pretty much everyone? Do you not give a shit and drop it? Or do you feel that you must finish it in order to be more cultured as an anime fan?

It depends. Some anime have a learning curve. It depends if I want to drop it in the learning curve or not. It's never a good idea to give up because you can't get beyond the learning curve to enjoy something so I stick with it till I at least get what it's about. But if I am beyond the learning curve and still don't like it I will definitely drop it.

You dont like it? Drop it. Just dont be a faggot about it and hating on it to seem cool

How did you get that one row to float in the air?

user...

Form your own opinion and just drop it if you don't like it.
For bonus points, don't make a thread on Sup Forums saying it's shit.
