>4-Year STEM degree is only $10k debt, but still absolutely worthless.
>Work for $11/hr, part-time.
>Driving $500 car that only runs through sheer willpower and technical expertise on how to nigger-rig.
>Only eat oatmeal, rice, chicken, eggs.
>Buy in bulk and vacuum seal for maximum time and money savings.
>Still barely able to save up $4000 in the course of a year.

There's a fucking problem. I'm struggling, civil engineering, 90% of fucking kids I met in college are in the same boat as me. And don't get me started on the niggers with $4000 dollar rims on EBT. They can't all sell drugs. Someone has to buy the drugs. Even they are living more comfortably. Look if some asshole junkies with no degree who work at a pawn shop are living better and more secure than me with a degree, what is my incentive to not just say fuck it I want free shit too?

>college
That's where you fucked up.
You could work full time, for more, working in a trade. If you go into a field of work that the market is begging for, you will work.
And for those guys you mention, they have a crazy amount of government assistance, probably getting stupid amounts of money from the government.

>blah blah, college bullshit
>blah blah, niggers on welfare
Yep. That has nothing to do with the government. I can't think of a better example of free markets to ask people to defend.

>what is my incentive to not just say fuck it I want free shit too?
Do it, the more stress we put on the shitty system, the sooner it might break and we can face reality.

Jesus user. You’re either way to autistic to talk to people or a fucking moron.

I didn’t go to school and make 65k, and my wife makes 45 (she went to school).

Probably the only difference between you and I is that I interview well and people like me.

Read some books on how to not be a useless fucking CHUD in social circumstances or emulate what you see successful people doing.

So you think you are entitled to a nice life because you studied a bit more than average Joe?

Capitalism allows people with no social skills to run businesses. Knowing most people would never choose to work with let alone promote someone with no social skills, business ownership is the logical option. It gives them autonomy and allows them not to follow the social norms

Well first, you seem to be a commie. Your interviewers can smell you from a mile away.

And what is your STEM degree in?

I got a degree in a field that is supposed to be high demand, high skill, and net high salary. I did what I was supposed to, adequate performance above 3.0 and I still have to work at a fucking hovel serving food.

I could get into a trade, but the point is that's bullshit if I already have a higher education degree in the first place that is supposed to net you a good job in the field. It's not like I picked nigger studies.

Why fucking bother working if the system is this much of a sham? Study hard, get a degree in a marketable field, spend years paying debt and slumming it and maybe you'll make good money when you're in your 30s and your wifes eggs dry up so you get 1-2 autistic kids max. This is if they don't choose Pajeet over you for lower wages. Meanwhile niggers live off government money doing jack shit smoking weed all day and they get more food AND better material possessions. What is the incentive to work in such a system when you witness this? This is a huge problem that needs to be addressed, there's a glut of STEM degrees and skilled educated workers being produced but not enough opportunities for them.

You said STEM. Civil engineering might as well be an art degree.

Read the post

It's a reasonable expectation.

You didn't list your degree, nigger.

STEM is not a fucking degree.

>live with mommy and daddy
>finish 2 yr """"degree"""" in a 2 terms cause of AP credits kek
>first job interview get 50k/full benefits/college tuition
>buy new car a few months ago
Ganna get my EE in a few and get another job, you must be hella retarded OP.

>STEM STEM STEM
Really, after your 2 year, did you think about your job options? If i google civil engineer jobs how many opens will I get back? why did you keep going for your 4 year?

these are the questions you should have thought about lad. They are the ones that are keeping me up late at night.

why didnt you get federal aid you fucking retard, you use government help to go too college so you dont screw yourself, not take a damn loan

I am less autistic than Indians who can't speak English and had worse grades than me who get hired. Maybe I might have to move, but I don't have the capital or resources to move far away.

Also I am NOT a Commie, I am just becoming more sympathetic towards Socialist economics at least in regards to education and requiring the rich to pay their fair share in taxes, or at least some sort of regulation to better serve the American economy and worker. I do not believe in any of their racial or sex politic nor do I believe in the abolishment of private property. All I am saying is from where I am standing and from what I have seen, the system we currently have in the US is extremely flawed and every other first world nation deals with situations like this far better.

If I got this same degree in Japan or Germany or France or somewhere, I'd have a higher paying job in the field I studied with no debt.

If you're already an autistic guy your kids will have autism either way no matter how old the woman is. What is the reproductive disadvantage of an autistic guy doing this?

>civil engineering

I did and barely qualified for anything because I'm a white man whose parents weren't totally poor. Scholarships and grants weren't enough for books and the extra fees they pile on. I paid off most of the debt, I just want fair work.

Since when has the bitch architect of a city planner been a high demand job?

The Spergy business owner who has been fired from job after job or has been a NEET a long time doesn't owe NTs the money he makes. NTs decided to exclude him or alienate him. They are not entitled to lots of his money.

$10,000 for a 4 year degree? Did you steal a degree from the University of Phoenix lol. Most people graduating are between $40,000-$120,000 not including grad school.

Stupid OP, should have gone for a 2 year in HVAC. Technical Trades my dude

>WHY CANT I SAVE MONEY WORKING A SHITTY JOB 15 HOURS A WEEK?!?!
>REEEEEEE

Every degree is high demand, high net according to colleges. Have you tried writing up a great resume and emailing it to companies that accept your degree? Whether or not theyre highing. All you need is a foot in the door, a way in. Its harder for an inexperienced out of college student compared to someone going into trade because you have an option to At least start as apprentice with no knowledge of the work. Start looking for a second job or a full time job that can At least start making you a "more experienced" person, someone that catches the eye of the employer. That's all you need. I think you expected too much, the world doesnt work that way, it just doesnt make it easy for you because you studied for you. Keep your head up user. Get some room mates to help with cost of living, get another job.

hi

>buying books
hahahhahaha if you're such a brainlet that you couldn't get your books free, then you sure as shit shouldn't be building bridges

I turned $5,000 to $400,000 in 2 years speculating on cryptocurrency. If you're as smart as you claim to be then you can do this it.

>3.0 engineer
did you at least do an internship?

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is finalizing regulations
to set out the policies and procedures for the implementation of a
commercial leasing program for the management of federally-owned oil
shale and any associated minerals located on Federal lands. The Energy
Policy Act of 2005 (EP Act) directs the Secretary of the Interior
(Secretary) to: Make public lands available for conducting oil shale
research and development activities; Complete a Programmatic
Environmental Impact Statement (PEIS) for a commercial leasing program
for both oil shale and tar sands resources on the BLM-administered
lands in Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming; and Issue regulations
establishing a commercial oil shale leasing program.
These final regulations incorporate specific provisions of the
Mineral Leasing Act of 1920 (MLA) and the EP Act relating to: Oil shale
lease size; Acreage limitations; Rental; and Lease diligence.
These regulations also address the diligent development
requirements of the EP Act by establishing work requirements and
milestones to ensure diligent development of leases. The rule also
provides for other standard components of a BLM mineral leasing
program, including lease administration and operations.

DATES: This rule is effective on January 17, 2009.

Best thing you can do is spread your new found evangel.

Kids going to school need to be more thoughtful about what they’re going for. If you can’t move away to get a good job then you need to work in something that is local to you. Whether that’s a mind numbing shit warehouse job or a skilled trade. Save, then go to school if you like and have the resources to start in a new city.

Use the experience from the job you had before to work while you’re in school. Then you’re still putting yourself in a situation where you’re not eating at a soup kitchen while looking for the better job.

I don’t understand kids these days. “I went to school for 4 years! It was soooo hard! I deserve a job!”

Nah, you had a cushy gig hanging out and learning for 4 years while gobbling up resources and being worthless. If anything that proves you didn’t have the foresight for your future.

Sorry “the system” lied to you and help you put yourself in this situation - but now you have a great experience you can use so less people end up in your situation.

>4-Year STEM degree is only $10k debt, but still absolutely worthless.
>Work for $11/hr, part-time.

If you can't find a well paying job programming then you have nobody to blame but yourself numbnuts.

>civil engineering

>talk to other recruiters after discovering that I'm desirable and choose satalite technician in army
>get 20k sign on bonus with free health and dental care with free education
>set for life
>join the army anons

Life is a litmus test op, you've failed at it, maybe kys

How viable is it for me to buy a programming for dummies book and supplement my income by coding in my underwear?

You better had cooked them hot dogs, negger

And you went with the smart option. Satellite tech is a great option, had a buddy who started there as well.

lmao, I think this is the same user who has been bitching on Sup Forums shitting on STEM degrees because he majored in
>civil engineering

fucking meme degrees kek

It's super important to pick the right job though. Not every recruit can be a tech or commo guy and come out with the job-related experience. Fuck, sometimes you'll get unlucky and get to a unit where you WON'T do your job. That being said, even if you're a 12K or something, it's still worth it for the guaranteed pay (lol shutdown) and bennies.

Just had my unit sign me up to do 10-level courses for pipe fitting and stone masonry for a deployment in estonia this year. Axed, of course, thank you DACA. But some good opportunities at least.

>If I got this same degree in Japan or Germany or France or somewhere, I'd have a higher paying job in the field I studied with no debt.

true

Perhaps, one issue is I hardly have enough spare income to invest anything worthwhile. I have dabbled in crpyto but of course I need more money to play with to see anything
I actually do have some programming knowledge and an online cert, however I was always under the impression employers for these jobs wanted a CS degree and nothing less.
It's engineering, the most in demand field correct?
Start a business with what? The capital I don't have from my $11 an hour job?
Maybe the military or going back for a trade cert could be a future option if things continue this way in the next 5 years.
Some classes had required software you had to pay for you couldn't pirate. mathlab pearson garbage.
Not bad advice. I will use my skills developed and past experiences to build myself up as a candidate for any future career. However, my main point of contention is people shouldn't even be put in this position in the first place. Why is it in America students have to struggle while in every other country they are taken care of?

It's possible, but you're going to need to be aggressive/good at it.

Look up jobs in your area and see what kind of languages they want. Learn those languages. Boom.

Tell me more about the military a bit (specifically Air Force). Do they take people who graduated already? Could I do reserves and get bennies or do I need to go for the overseas program and get deployed and everything?

maybe you should spend less time dicking around on Sup Forums and more time trying to find a better job.

>b-but muh engineering!
Not all "engineers" have the same demand.

demand for software engineer >>>>civil engineer.

That said, with the amount you post bitching on here, maybe that energy would be better spent finding out what the fuck you can do in civil engineering.

Hm, I thought you could take freelance jobs or something. Maybe I can learn programming or coding from a dummies book while I pick an AAS to do, cybersecurity or CS or something.

>>Work for $11/hr, part-time.
theres your real problem, learn to work outside of your educational field according to the market.

>be highschool dropout
>decide to do volunteer work for my town
>make connections and build rapport for references
>work shit job to use as stepping stone to better employment
>????
>10 years later almost 6 figure salary

literally came from nothing and sorted my life out because I could adapt and take what I wanted instead of being an entitled fag expecting things to be given to me

>Shell
>Active as fuck on GitHub
>Have a website where I do tutorials and shit for new packages
>Non-CS STEM degree

>Unemployed for the last year since graduating
>Send out resumes on the daily
>Don't even get rejected
>Radio silence

Tech is fucking hard to break into even in a tech hub.

But, you're right he should still learn it

Describe in detail what you have done

Centrally planned socialism is the source of your problems. Capitalism is just people trading work and products for a common medium of exchange and in no way has the ability to overregulate your life like a coercive force monopoly does every day. Socialism is always theft and always starves its host country to the point of collapse and usually for a good bit after.

Essentially, a lot of jobs want you to have some kind of experience or degree, even if it's not related to that.

But as long as you can prove to them that you can code decently, some might even be willing to train you a little bit. Tech shit is sprouting up everywhere these days, so look around once you have a basic understanding of it.

Do not wait on the military mate the longer you wait the harder it will be on you

Wouldnt that sandwich taste like slices of dick dipped in shit?

Not only true, trips of truth

>If I got this same degree in Japan or Germany or France or somewhere, I'd have a higher paying job in the field I studied with no debt.

You sound like half a fucking libshit nigger already, OP. An intellectual, moral, mental, emotional black hole on the verge of creation.

Go get a real fucking job. Figure it out. No jobs in your area? Find a new area. Work your ass off.
I have to admit it's a little gratifying to see myself and my friends working blue collar jobs, making six figures and more a year, while some (formerly) arrogant pricks are ready to fucking an hero.

>4 year stem degree worthless
you literally have to be mentally handicapped not to get a job with a STEM degree in the job market right now. Anyone with an EE degree can walk into any state and get a well paying 60-80k job with no experience.

I think a lot of it depends on your location too. My friend did a two year programming AS here at a community college in florida, moved out to Seattle and got an entry level programming job and makes good money, no prior experience and isn't even that skilled of a programmer lol.

What type of STEM degree?

If you have a degree in a field with high demand and you have no job you’re the problem. You’re probably just a piece of shit. Clean toilets instead.

>wah I have a piece of paper why are people who didn't go into debt for it doing better than me :'(

>, there's a glut of STEM degrees and skilled educated workers being produced but not enough opportunities for them.
It's almost like capitalism is working, you know, supply and demand and all that. There's a ton of inexperienced civil engineers out there, you chose a tough path. Due to government unions and waste if you can get your foot in the door with your local government you'll be set for life though because government work is just a small step away from welfare anyway. Just be persistent. See if you can get into internships somewhere, disregard the fact that they're looking for students, apply and hound them until they let you in.

Hmm, I see what you mean.

Have you looked in to getting certified in certain languages and stuff? You wouldn't have to do a whole lot of schooling. Just basically pass a test to prove you know these languages. Unfortunately I don't know a whole lot about it, but it might be worth looking into.

Look, Latvia, I know it was a failed experiment in your country, but that WASN'T REAL SOCLIALISM

you are full of shit.

show me how many entry level EE jobs are there on indeed.com... you know, ones that aren't asking for years of exp

Good advice, thanks. I recently did start looking into it, about the same price as a quarter of college. So a little expensive but potentially worthwhile.

Oh wait I was talking about a formal certificate program, not just getting a cert. That's also a great idea.

If these people want ''real socialism'' they can work for me. I'll give them free housing in a cuck shed, they'll work the farm for me and I will feed them with water and bread if I feel like it.
Come work for me, commies. I'll even hit you with a belt once in a while for the full BSDM experience you're actually asking for.

>4-year genetics degree, $15K in debt
>not enough jobs in the field
>decide to take work in a warehouse for 6 months
>use warehousing and lab experience to get a job for a palm oil company
>a year later and I'm earning $90K/year as lab manager in a PNG plant
>always keeping an eye on the job market
>still high competition, so I'm kept out for another year
>continue to save up
>apply for a pretty great job at $95K
>get it
>come back home earning more than I did, with a massive savings account
>love my job and actually enjoy every minute I'm there

You studied STEM for a reason, hopefully because you love it. Do whatever is in your power to make working that field your end-goal. We can't all be the lucky few who get to jump straight into the position we want.

What’s the fucking point of pretending to be communist if you are just going to feed me?
That’s slavery, not real communism

I would love to be smug to those faggot hipsters and rub it in their faces... Oh you don't live in a socialist paradise, working on a Latvian farm like I do? Oh you never heard of that Latvian band before? Oh what do you do again? Oh you work at StartCucks? Heh Well enjoy your early death and diabetes.

If I shoot you and call it a gunshot, will you be less happy than if I shoot you and call it a hug?

Working us for stupid people. I get 1060€/month in benefits and 2000€ from "other things" that may not be legal but it is easy money, includes some kind of gardening that i wont specify for legal reasons. Everything is nice and comfy if you are not stupid enough to get caught.

I make over 500€ of finnish median wage this way, cant complain.

I'm doing biochemistry and genetics, it's simple, even doing related volunteer work, talk to professors, specialize, and become so good they can't ignore you.

Learn other skills as well, e.g. Chinese and travel to work.

What's the best way to start learning programming? I mean what website/ebooks can you DL if you don't know shit about CS

HTML/CSS/Javascript or whatever

Oh my gosh are you saying the system doesn't work? Say it ain't so!

>Learning chinese
