I fucking regret the post-war economy. Everything is subtantially harder now. I just can feel it, and even high-earning boomers told me that they had an easier life back then, jobs everywhere.

What would you do if you were a healthy 23 years-old male with no diploma, Sup Forums ?

I failed college and spiraled into depression, no memeing. I worked factory jobs, and got pushed by my father to become a nurse, even though I hate this shit. So here I am, in a nursery school i'm skipping half of the time because I hate this shit and it's absolutely full of retards compared to the college I first started at, no idea where I'm headed at in my life, friendless loser living at his mom's place.

Helpme, Sup Forums.

Go in the trades. I work as a plumber and it's pretty good.

Don’t listen to this retard OP, you sound smart. It’s time to go back to college and get your degree.

>Complete fuckup
>You sound smart

Kinda mean.

Boy, does anybody actually come here for the "I'm a shitty loser" threads?

Anyone else ngaf?

Super mean.

You're actually a real person?

unsure, but good luck to you if you're white

do a hitch in the military to get yourself sorted out

>don't learn a marketable trade, go back to (((uni))) which you already failed

Found the brainlet

Why yes.

I'm a mutt, sorry.

I failed one of the hardest courses, if not the hardest (medecine).

get fucking rich
read as many books as possible every day
get fucking rich

>studying medecine like a cuck
>abyssal success rate
>even if you succeed you have a shitty underpaid stressful job
If you don't go to prepa after highschool, you clearly don't understand how this country works.

My story is kind of similar to yours. I got my BS in Neuroscience, which was a mistake. Now I'm back for another BS in Computer Science, which is far better. It is pretty stressful but such is this cruel life...

>no idea where I'm headed at in my life,
All you can do is your best. Just avoid stuff like drugs, prostitution, and all that bad stuff, and continue to do your best.

source on pic?

Come on. We both know at this point, even prépas aren't worth giving a shit unless you get a topschool like X, ENS or Mines.

it's spelled medicine you fucking faggot

no wonder you failed

That's true, but it's not that hard to get into those schools.

Fucking degenerate

Come the fuck on.

Belgian
Went to college for bunch of things cause my parents pushed me even though I had no idea what I wanted to do

Failed obviously
Worked for 3 years in a sports store, was pretty chill

Did an Asia tour (Korea, Japan, China). Found out I wanna live there for a while atleast while I'm not 35 yet. Need a degree for it..

26 now, went back to uni to study language (Jap) (i actually wanted to learn non weeb). But it's difficult as shit and I already failed 3/6 exams :(

Oviously X and ENS are very hard to get, but some decent schools (Centralesupelec, Supaero, Centrale Lyon) are not that hard to get if you're not a brainlet and you're willing to work a bit. If you don't want to work, you can just get in those via university admissions after a STEM licence

Walk into a staffing company. They are always looking for warm bodies. If you can pass a typing test (50 words / minute is not that hard) they will get you a job. If you can lift 50 lbs they will get you a job. It will be a temporary job. It will be a shitty job, not full time, maybe only last a few weeks, hourly rate, no benefits. Do well on that job and they will give you another one. This is called "paying your dues." The paychecks will be shitty, but you earned them, which is a good feeling.

While you are doing temp work, you are maybe learning new skills if you are lucky, but more importantly you are showing potential future employers that you are capable of showing up every day and not causing problems in the workplace.

Eventually you will have enough temporary gigs that you will have a resume that hiring managers might actually look at. Or one of your temp gigs will turn into something permanent.

t. senior system administrator making $120k that got his start in the tech industry doing temp work. i am still a high school dropout with no certs.

go into a trade like electrician or plumber or something

That's admirable, but I'm adamant this only works in the US.
There is little to no potential to climb the corporate ladder in French firms. Strong chance if I ever do that, i'll stay at this job for the rest of my life.

You’re on your computer I assume every day. Pick up programming and start learning it. In 6 months of time you will be employable. In 12 months of time you will be a high functioning autist.

It’s time to build some character and specialize in something.

In big corporations, it's almost impossoble to get far without the right diplomas in France. That's retarded but that's how things are.

yelp.com/search?cflt=employmentagencies&find_loc=Paris

Do it anyway.

Any paycheck is better than no paycheck. Getting you foot in the right door can lead to very good things. If you are like me, college is a boring waste of time that teaches you absolutely no marketable skills.

I'm in your boat, 24 and dropped out of college. The worst part is I dropped out with 90 credit hours (120 hours is a degree here in the US). And $30k in debt. I never worked a day in my life. My boomer parents told me college is more important than a job, and as soon as I have a degree I'll get a job right away. What a crock of bullshit.

I've lived the past 6 years of my life without any income whatsoever, which is a terrible feeling. You can't do anything without money. I cannot even buy a gun, the most American thing to do. It sucks. I'd like to work a job someday, I'll probably start at McDonalds or KFC or some other shitty food service job, surrounded by teenagers. I promised myself I'd never work anything like that but the reality is creeping in that I may have to.

Learn a trade, just dont start smoking butts and drinking everyday after work.
Tradesmen usually do very well for themselves when they start their own business.

OP if you source me this pic I will unironically tip you off to what helped me turn it all around. You sound like me down to a t, even the nursing bit.

It works exactly the same way in the US. Didn't get into an Ivy? Too bad. You won't make Director level by 30. Useful to the company, able to create value? They will always pay more to not have to replace you.

>he doesn't know that conscientiousness and intelligence are inversely correlated

This.
If you work hard you will be very valuable to society, there is a lack of good people in those jobs, because in France, most of them are brainlet.
You will be your own boss and start make very good money soon.

You too, should look into employment agencies. Pass a drug test and no felonies are usually the only requirements. Shitty jobs. I had many of them starting in that same boat. Turned 30 working as an admin assistant to a sales dude that made 10x what I did. But he taught me a lot.

Start your own business. Cut grass. Walk dogs. Flip stuff on eBay. Doesn't matter. Start small and at the end of each day, write down what you did good / wished you'd done differently to increase revenue and profit. At the end of 6 months, decide if you think you can generate $100k in profit before taxes within the next 5 years. If not, quit that businesses and start another one. Rinse and repeat. You'll find you're more successful with each turn of the crank. Note the average successful entrepreneur had multiple failed businesses before they hit it big. Failure is good because it means you are learning, as long as you manage your risk to avoid catastrophic losses.

Drink bleach, faggot.

One of my friends went there. Fuck that.

I came for the clickbait

Google "machine shops near me." Get a list of shops that you can get to easily, and start hitting them up closest to farthest. Try to target smaller shops first. Tell the owner/shop lead you have no experience, but you're willing to sweep floors to get your foot in the door.

Any machine shop in business making parts will have tens of thousands of dollars of cnc machinery on the floor being operated by young guys less than 30. Most of those guys will be making at least $40K per year with benefits after a year or two.

I sell tooling into machine shops, and I can tell you without a doubt that I could get you a job within hours at a machine shop. The owners of those places are desperate to get the next generation working for them.

What you people don't really get about university is that it isn't 100% learning. You know what happens when you go to university to only learn? Nothing. You come out with a piece of paper and no experience. Sure, you're technically qualified, but prospective employers don't give a shit. There's hundreds of "technically qualified" people. The BEST thing about university that people overlook, is the networking opportunities. Every-fucking-thing in life is who you know, not what you know. If you're going to university and have the highest GPA possible, while not participating in university clubs and societies, you're doing it fucking wrong.

In this day and age, you need to be personable rather than exceptionally smart. If you're smart and not an autist that can initiate and hold conversations with random dudes 30 years your senior, you've got it in the fucking bag.

TL;dr: Don't go to uni to solely learn. It's essentially 30% learning and 70% networking. Be approachable. Be personable. Because at the end of the day, an employer is going to see more value in the contacts you've built (like if you were the fuckin president of the uni engineering society), rather than the qualifications you SHOULD have

Holy shit that OP picture made me Catholic again

>"Just walk in and give the owner a firm handshake telling him you wont leave until he hires you"

You can totally hang out in your 20s in a college town or the college area of your city and make the same friends even if you don't go there.

You're correct that the owners of machine shops are looking for the next gen. but 40k in two years is a pipe dream for these kids unless they're working 55-65hrs. a week. Stay out of the machining trades because it's a very stressful job with asshole supervisors, dumb assed dick headed foreman, egotistical co workers(very high concentration of them in machining) and , shrinking wages. Stick to nursing, it's way better pay and after a few years the work gets easier, you won't regret it

Automated 3d printing is going to kill that profession sooner rather than later anyway.

This still works in restaurant kitchens. Helps if you can cook, but they are always hiring dishwashers. Helps if you can speak Spanish.

That'd work with some guys...but not most. You have to remember that machine shop owners are looking at everything in black and white terms. They deal in thousandths of an inch, miles of red tape, and parts per hour.

For the OP, seriously, get out of health care. It's the realm of women and fuck ups. Get into manufacturing. Doesn't matter if you're making springs or molds. Knives or manifolds, if it's made of metal it's going to take at least one operation, and one operator to do it.

Don't do retail, foodservice, or healthcare. Those are industries for people with no imagination.

You're probably correct but there's always going to be the remanufacturing/repair of parts and equipment that needs a skilled machinist to perform. tfw all the machinists I know hate their fucking jobs. except the one's who do it for themselves.

>the one's who do it for themselves.

There are tons of guys in my town working out of basic metal buildings doing custom CNC, looking for contracts, and inventing new stuff every day.

I don't know of a single shop in the pacific NW that has a starting wage less than $35K per year if you're working a full 40.

It's not stressful if you're on time, sober, and detail oriented. You're going to have assholes everywhere in life, but if you're not an idiot and actually do your job, then machining is a good living.

3d printing will not kill the profession, it'll only change it. People said the same thing when cnc machines first started showing up in shops. Now every shop has a manual machine in the corner, and a floor full of machining centers. Who's going to run the 3d printers? Who'll service them, who'll sell the support material?

American men will always create, and there will always be shops needed to build those creations. I started out in biotech, and I can tell you from experience that you're a fool if you stay in healthcare.

>Smart people have everything work out for them and everyone hands things to them without them putting in any effort
No, you're thinking of being lucky and charismatic, your fucking moron..

Im trying to get into the trades. Im driving a dump truck but honestly dont know how to get an apprenticeship

Yea, the shop I work at just hired a guy who for the last 30yrs owned and worked out of a big metal building with his own cnc machines and up to 8 employees at one time. He said after everyone and the bills were paid he earned about 45k a year avg. He makes more now. Stay in fucking nursing.

>forego invaluable college degree applicable to many sectors for a dime a dozen trade skill which is useless beyond the single job you learn to do

Fuck off jungle monkey

Sort yourself out faggot

Seriously?!? Ask anyone who does the trade you're interested in how they got into it.

Check with you local City College to see if they have a 2 year feeder program for trades. You can mostly do it online these days. Having a cert is better than not having a cert.

Go into a trade. Great pay and talk shit about niggers and muslims with co workers all day.

All the machine shops are starting ppl. out at $16/hr. ? Are you high?

Pick something you like to do and make money doing it. Make sure it is something that a robot can not do because they are coming for many jobs.

So you're going to take advice from a a guy who couldn't make a go at running a machine shop? Sounds like a good example to me! OP get into health care, you'll love wiping elderly butts.

Dans quelle région es-tu?

Many sectors......

Youre a retarded nigger aint ya?

4+ years and tens of thousands in debt and no job prospects or a year of school and for some trades completely free schooling actively recruited at school for employment.

You must be mad as shit you spent all that fuckin money and dont have shit to show for it but a piece of paper sitting in a box gathering dust somewhere in your closet.

Sounds like you're getting the nigger wage. Come to the pacific NW, there's not a single shop I deal with that pays a guy at less than $20 an hour.

First of all stop looking at porn.

I dont know anyone, We only have a plumber and all the mexicans hate me

Not feasible for most people. Majority of recreational interests have little to no earning potential.

Who is this semen demon?

Machine shop--a place to build parts that end up in space while not having to work with idiot bitches or feral niggers. Also, the most pro Trump and pro America environment you can ever imagine.

I don't normally soothe people's feelings on here (opposite) but I'm feeling kind/gay today and don't want you to feel bad, frogleg. That user is just yanking your chain. Most of us relate to your predicament, young men all over the Western world have been failed and are in exactly this position. You're in good company on Sup Forums, but we can't help you unless you help yourself, so start now. Come to think of it, I haven't seen any /sig/ threads in a while, someone should get on that.

Now go post your blog elsewhere, faggot.

Ever thought of working at sea on a merchant ship?

Finished an apprenticeship through a union that took about a year and a half and im making 8k a month when i choose to work. Given a few years and upgrade in job duties itll be about 12k a month.

They are hungry as fuck for bodies. All the old heads are retiring. When i go to the hiring hall, its shitloads of job openings.

Google....phone number....call

...

get a rifle

Breed dogs. Buy like three or four bitches, hire a stud when they come in heat, raise the pups, flog them off at 8 weeks for 2k each, ~2 litters each a year.

Trying to sort my life out.

Life as a web developer is hard. I have to compete with indians who will work for just a couple dollars an hour.

Anyone know the web dev, IT struggle?

tfw
Western PA poor fag wage slave
20/hr. is top rate
i should hang myself.

I have a friend who's a web dev. Just quit intel for a position at amazon. Doubled his salary overnight. amazon was begging him to work for them. He's lily white. If you're having a hard time competing against river shitters, then you're selling yourself short. You're a white man on planet Earth, yu are the closest thing to a living god.

Don't hang yourself white man. Come to the pacific NW and bask in the $20 per hour starting pay with beni's. The rain sucks, but on the bright side all the women have webbed feet.

My issue is that I'm a highschool dropout self-taught programmer. I'm good, but I just don't have the credentials. What tends to happen is that I'll apply to entry level positions and I'll be passed off as overqualified ("we feel that you'll be going somewhere higher than the position you're applying for." Or, "wow you're handling your own clients? At your age? Impressive. Unfortunately this is a data entry contract and we think you'll get bored of something so mind-numbing"), and when applying to a senior position I'll be passed off for not having a university degree like other candidates.

I'm building up a portfolio so hopefully I can get one of the comfy jobs without having to waste 4 years of my life. I swear to god, I would be able to work anywhere if I just had 1 year of corporate webdev experience.

Tfw too underqualified to be overqualified.

tfw..
move to Pacific N.W. for higher paying wage slave job
end up with genital warts

meh, it took me almost 10 years to build up my arsenal. Got a mini-14 a mini-30 and a few mossberegs a win 308 and a pack of hounds, you need to be patient user

Not an arsenal. Just some Nazi war trophies my pa got in the great war and left to me.

Gotcha, I can definitely understand that. Tough position to be in.

I do have a friend that several years ago was facing a similar situation. He was able to get enough part time contracts to equal out a full time salary. Not trying to give advice, but I've bought web/design services on etsy and craigslist.

Nobody I know whans to deal with poo handed shit skins. Maybe a pell grant and a few years of night school are in order?

Once tax returns come back I'm gifting myself my first pistol fuck it.

Another user

>I'm gifting myself my first pistol fuck it.
they are fucking hard to own here, I can drive down to Canadian Tire or Wallymart and pick up a .50 cal Beretta, for some reason handguns are virtually banned, it is a pain to own them here

I'm studying for CompTIA certifications, as well as cisco shit for network admin.

But yeah that's essentially what I'm doing, I'm managing a few clients as well as giving work to some of my subcontractors to get enough money to live. However I really hunger for an actual income.

Get a City Job, at least the benefits will be worth it. Then assess where to go from there.

Save up monies
>5,000$
Gets you 5-40 acres depending on location, to cultivate
>5,000$
Gets you a well
>150-250$
Gets you a single goat/lamb
>-5-20$
Gets you a chicken/s

With a good 15,000$ you can have land, food and water.

Learn French get fit. Join the French Forgin Legion. Talked to a legion budy girls will line up to suck your dick. You will go to Africa make a difference and get to slay bodies every day and make bank. Plus you can get French citizenship.

Where exactly in the United States can $5000 get you 5-40 acres?

Back then you'll just have to walk in and start the job immediately, now you'll have to process a ton of papers, go into interviews and exams with no assurance of passing and make lots of expenses. Boomers are the worst nightmare of the succeeding generations.
