Arise follows the idea of SAC in being an action-detective narrative but the story is so munbo-jumbo compared to SAC and ALL characters that are already well-established got COMPLETELY rebooted because WHY THE FUCK NOT.

The movie is just bad from a narrative, story, character perspective. Visuals were COOL but is so painfully "aesthetic" that it lacked all sense of substance to go with it. Like watching Transformers for the intricate story.

It is but there are some EXTREMELY vague connections towards the first original movie from SSS mainly from tone and character outlook, mainly the major's outlook on how the physical is getting less "important" to her.
