In Canada ruling parties often don't last past 10-15 years and people change it up just for wanting to bring in "new blood". Trudeau capitalized on this and made his campaign all about him being a fresh face. There really wasn't much economic, infrastructure etc talk, it was just him saying "well I'm new, I can do better". A lot of people in Canada are upset about the governing of our country and there has already been a wave of conservative wins in elections that are subnational.
