Kirby
Sonic OVA
I've also heard the Dragon Quest series is okay but I haven't seen it
Certainly not Chris X.
Reminder Chris was actually an homage to Chris-chan.
Case in point, they both have the same colour scheme.
The Mega Man NT series is OK, I hear the games are pretty good as well.
However, compared to other adaptions at the time, Mega Man NT was actually true to the source.
...
Bomberman Jetters
Ran->Sem, hands down and it's not even close.
POKEMON
What's Steins;Gate?
Visual novels don't count.
Ys
So Street Fighter?
>implying
HOW CAN I HELP YOU KING DEDEDE
the darkstalkers ova when felicia and lord raptor are on the screen
Kirby by a mile, retained the lighthearted sorta beginner feel the games had but for anime instead of games. Sakurai had a direct hand in it, and even the dub is enjoyable in it's own right.
At the very least, Sonic will always have the best adaption except for any USA shit where they call Eggman ROBOTNIK (because that's N.A.SHIT for you)
Sonic Boom is the only thing the not-nips did it right, and I am talking about the series, the game was thrash.
It is just me or when Sonic gets animated, he get most of the time better scenes that 90% of the anime we got this days?
Selvaria
I NEED A MONSTAH TO CLOBBAH DAT DERE KIRBEH
gungrave
Tales of the Abyss was the first and only not-pure-poop adaptation of a tales game.
Shingeki no Bahamut
I like the inazuma eleven anime.
only one of them is a girl.
I refuse to believe
FATAL FURY 2
>Thorndyke
>dyke
They knew all along.
SRW:OG The Inspector
Persona had some decent adaptions
Does Utawarerumono or Tears to Tiara count? The Tears to Tiara anime was adapted from the PS3 game which was adapted from the original VN.
You better believe.
Gungrave
Hyperdimension Neptunia
Hnnnngggg
It's based on a manga you plebianesque newagian fag
Megaman Battle Network is fucking great.
Boring and repetitive. The only great game in the series was 3.
I wasn't looking to debate it faggot.
The only really shitty game in the series is 4 and the fact it is repetitive is part of why they have staying power.
>Nobody posted the p4 anime.yet
That shit was hilarious.
Sonic The Hedgehog (2006)
THAT'S WHAT WE DO BEST AT NNNNNNDDND
Unironically this
LoZSATAM was too good
The Professor Layton movie was nice
Better than the videogame itself
if you skip the first episode
agreed the sonic movie was a great movie, I mean, when I watched it I was like 10
>No news on the sequel in years
That game was rushed and incomplete, and it was the reason it sucked. Fuck whoever say that the story was the real cause, it was ok and ignoring the bestiality thing, Elise was more competent than Maria (despite that she was crucial to Shadow to finally grow a spine) and even Silver was not that bad.
God Eater.
Probably this unfortunately
the OVA was actually really good, I watched it last year and was suprised.
Hoshi no Kirby was a masterpiece.
I would probably like Sonic more as an anime than a video game.
don't even know if it's the best VG anime adaptation, just throwing this here
youtube.com
and now a manga adaptation (of Mahou Daisakusen): shmups.system11.org
there's also a Gunbird manga, too.
I used to watch the Street Fighter II animated movie all the time back in the 90's. I recently watched it again and was surprised at how well it's held up.
In fact, there are many things about it that I don't think I appreciated as a kid, perhaps most notably how mature and halcyon it is, despite being an anime about a fighting game. Honestly I don't know how I managed to sit through it as a 9-year-old.
This might not be the best game to anime adaptation, but it's definitely one that comes to mind the fastest.
Underwater Ray Romano
The TTT anime sucked balls. The PC game was rad though so I was looking forward to it too, god damn.
Despite the copious amounts of QUALITY, P4's adaptation was surprisingly solid, and managed to integrate the plot and the S-Links relatively well.
On the other hand, the less said about P4GA, the better.
The first Popolocrois anime, secuel of Popolocrois Monogatari (ps1), the anime is comfy as fuck and have very good ost too.
It's Kirby. Also the greatest OP of all time, and I'm not talking about the sub version.
The Dark Souls anime was bretty gud!
I thought it was decent, and I played the PC game beforehand.
Who else still owns the VHS of this? I know I do.
This confirms Sega can see the future
I almost got a copy of both that and the DVD for $50 years ago
Should've gotten it when I had the chance. fug
What did you think of Street Fighter Alpha?
Loved it as well, but even as a kid (or however old I was when that one came out) I could feel how different it was from the 94 movie. If SF II:TAM felt more like a contemporary of Ghost in the Shell, which it technically was, Alpha felt more in the vein of something like the Read or Die OVA or one of Naruto's earlier films. Not that I mean that in a bad way.
Although I also don't think I cared for the story as much.
Maybe I should watch that again sometime, too.
Yeah, man.
>tfw no movie sequels
>tfw no Layton Brothers 2
...
How the hell are we 50+ posts into this and no one's even mentioned Neptunia?
You fucking baka.
Tales of Zestiria anime redeemed the game
Bomberman
Sorry. Was hard to spot without a much-needed picture of Nep.
Why not the other Bomberman anime?
youtube.com
Grew up watching these in Chinese dubbing.
This.
But only because it's featuring Dante.
I actually liked the OVA more
underrated post
relax
10/10
the 4kids intro was way better than either of the nip ones. Texan Dedede and spainard meta knight were great casting too. If it wasn't for the god awful cheap orchestra 4shit always used it would be a GOAT dub.
Clearly it's the F-Zero anime.
Tower of Druaga, even if it had nothing to really do with the actual game.
Gungrave
As a kid I thought the Kirby anime was shit and contradictory to everything in the games.
In the Kirby games, Kirby doesn't give a fuck and just plows through absolutely everything in order to achieve his goals. Even if it's something as petty as getting back his cake.
In the anime, Kirby is a fucking retard baby who can't even wipe his own ass. I also thought DDD's va was cheesy to the point of distaste, and it didn't make any sense that he have a texas accent.
I've lightened up now, but I still think the Kirby anime is crap.
...
Gungrave had the perfect ending.
that first episode was crazy
We need an animation in either the Riders or Mania style.
No matter what, the detail that is going to stick with me the most about SF2's movie is the dub OST. Also, Chun-Li in the shower.
This and The Motion Picture
Movie got me into Alice in Chains, KMFDM, and Chun-Li's tits. Still rewatch 2-3 times a year. There's some drawn out establishing shots I 2x through, but otherwise it's great
i'm pretty sure that was cajun dedede
What about the SF2 anime that isn't a movie?
youtu.be
For all that was complete fucking garbage, there were some sparks of cool in the Ace Attorney anime. I think it captures the dorkiness of Phoenix pretty well and Maya was adorable. I also liked how they did the Steel Samurai case and outright preferred its version of the circus case though I still love the circus case in the games. There were also a few anime-original scenes like the end of episode two that were pretty effective. Everything was complete trash and I weep inside every time I think about the god-tier Pachinko cutscenes.
I mean, Disgaea itself is the biggest hit-or-miss in the entirety of video game land.
The manga entertainment trailer was so rad to me back when I saw it on my Blood: The Last Vampire DVD. Rewatched maybe a few years ago and couldn't even finish. Something about some random kid waltzing in Ryu's life and suddenly bonding. Then again I never played Alpha so I don't know how it connects.
Devil may cry featuring Dante from the devil may cry series
>madhouse face
