How do you think one poker will end guys? I'm dying of anticipation here, especially after spoiling myself with the latest chapter.Will Kazuya die?;_;

>mfw just watched the chinchiro arc
Edge of my seat all the way through

I HOPE HE DOESN'T if fkmt draws it out any longer, especially with the next chapter, i swear to god...
kazuya's such a great rotten boy i'll miss him

Loads of balls and suffering. I guess?

To tell you the truth,I have my hopes up. I can see him surviving and maybe becoming friends with Kaiji somehow. It would make sense if you consider pic related and also Kaiji cheering on him and trying to help him. But the again I have no idea what's going to happen.

Kurosawa WHEN?

Dice > cards > rock paper scissors > balls > paper > beams

Where do helmets fit in?

>beams lowest
Why

>perfect
I really like it but you can't excuse the amount of filler the 2nd part of the bog arc has

I NEED to read the manga sometime
Because it may be really interesting and pretty great, it's missing the entire gamble feel by not having Kaiji gamble, i feel like it is a pretty great breather with an amazing message but not that much more

Kaiji pushes Kazyua to the end. Kazyua bets his life. He wins and pushes Kaiji back to zero. Kaiji gives up and loses all his money.

>He wins and pushes Kaiji back to zero.
M8...

but kazuya lost

oh user i really hope so id rather kaiji gets to the old man hyodo via kazuya as they are buds and kazuya is an edgy teen who hates his dad rather than it's kaiji's fault that kazuya died and thus it takes him to hyodo. i don't think fkmt would put blood on kaiji's hands even though it is kazuya who bet his own life

Will we see him again? ;_;

It's the best thriller i've seen

Soundtrack's pretty good too

Why are there people who think death note is watchable compared to this?

ZAWA

>beams last
>balls above anything

Speaking of One Poker, I really didn't think that Kazuya would cheat. He didn't even do it in a way that gave Kaiji a chance to retaliate, it was just luck that Kaiji happened to still have the toothpick. In the end, I guess Kazuya was just a stone-cold cheater like Muraoka rather than a "fair" cheater like Hyoudo. It also made me realize that every arc of Kaiji so far has contained some form of cheating, except for I guess RPS, and in the Bog Kaiji basically already knew the casino was cheating.

Beams didn't have any strategy to it.
Balls was a massive multi pronged plan that had both sides constantly bamboozling each other.

Balls was drawn out to the point where it was hard to sit through.
Beams was the emotional high points of the series.

Hopefully_not

they dont even count

It's amazing, but I still liked S1 more. Feels bad that we'll never have S3 and weed guy will never make ost for it ;_;

Also:
E-card>Bridge>underground dice>RPS>Bog>Pachinko>Salvation game

>Bog>17steps
fix

should i check out akagi if i loved kaiji?

Correction: how can 1st season be so perfect?

It's entirely mahjong and one arc literally took 20 years to finish, so keep that in mind. And Akagi is as far from a loser-kind as Kaiji from being a successful and adapted member of society, so MCs really differ.
Anyway, I read it after I saw Kaiji S1 and I really enjoyed it.

You definitely should. It's pretty hype too, but for different reasons. Akagi is a better written character as well, albeit not very relatable to.

He'll probably die, there is no way to stretch this arc any longer.
Also I don't understand why Kaiji even wants to save him he is a rich spoiled brat who tortured people for fun, doesn't Kaiji despise such people? Why would he even care?

Wouldn't it be kind of pointless if he just died in the end? That's probably because he has the potential to become better if someone shows him the POWA OF FRIENDSHIP.

wew slow down there. I don't want that "nakama power" shounen shit in my fkmt manga alright? He tortured and indirectly murdered many people, are we supposed to forget all about it because muh friendship changed him, now he's a sweet cinnamon roll? That would be fucking retarded.

He felt sympathy for a complete scumbag like Tonegawa. Kaiji is 2 pure.

kaiji kuuuuun

new anime season when?

Then again, Washizu was somewhat redeemed by the end of his game against Akagi. And Fukomoto managed to pull that off somehow.

>When the narrator makes it seem like Otsuki has just found a way to reverse the match and instead he just starts shouting "NO COUNTU! NO COUNTU!" with everyone looking at him like he's retarded.

I understand what you are trying to say and I partly agree with you. I'm not saying he is inoccent or anything but don't you think it would be kind of bland if he just died like that without having some kind of realization at the end. I mean their goal was to prove whose "theory" is right. Also this .

>Kaiji is 2 pure
He is, he really is. He's so pure and moe that even a random black suit can't resist.

The only fkmt "bad guy" I ever felt genuine sympathy for was Washizu. He's just too full of himself, too arrogant and also his reactions are perfect. Well then at the end he even refused to kill Akagi so that made me respect him even more.

Isn't the scanlation of One Poker way behind?

What chapter is the original japanese manga at?

247, so the scanlations are 90 chapters behind

This. Tonegawa had the audacity to act like a smug faggot after having the deck stacked in his favor. He should have stayed on that plate until he was charcoal

The ending of Washizu mahjong is really poignant. The respect Akagi and Washizu gain for each other feel perfectly earned since the match really is that titanic.

Washizu's thought process after drawing his winning tile is high literature tier.

Fuck me.

Are they catching up in any way, or are they just keeping a steady 100-chapter difference?

The pacing is different in Kaiji and Akagi though. Akagis 2/3 are just this one game. Washizu is charismatic, smart, witty and he didn't cheat. All that he has he achieved by himself, with his intelligence and will power. At some point I actually started to cheer for him. Washizu was redeemed long before the end.
Now Kazuya on the other hand is just a rich spoiled brat, never achieved anything by himself, tortured people for fun, edgy. He never had anything appealing in his character at all.

Well, now imagine he realizes he was wrong. And now what? Can you picture him suddenly becoming Kaiji's cool bro or something? How would that make sense?

>He never had anything appealing in his character at all.

I don't know, I find him a highly engaging character. You really understand why Kaiji simultanously despises him and respects him. I don't want him to be redeemed, though. Even if he has some form of epiphany he still shouldn't bro up with Kaiji or anything.

Also, don't forget that Washizu is introduced as a serial killer who loves watching young men despair before they die. At the beginning, at least, he isn't that much better than Kazuya or Hyodo.

Washizu didn't force them to play or anything, they agreed on their own. It's not like they would be dragged to underground mines if they refused to play. He was searching for a worthy opponent and was willing to take the risk too, unlike Kazuya or Hyuodo.

The manga is better

H E T I L T E D T H E B U I L D I N G

Nah not at all. I don't really expect Kaiji to forget about everything and bro up with him. But I do think that maybe he will change somehow. Well,we'll have to wait and see I guess.

It's not faggot. Sometimes dull, otherwise tries too hard

Season 1 was perfect, but season 2 dragged on for way too long. The second arc was kinda boring and should have been over before episode 20.

See this is why i don't believe the adaption can have been very good (despite never watching it), cause in the manga, Pachinko was one of the hypest arcs, if not THE hypest.

I really liked Salvation Game.

It was very different from the rest of the series. It was more a battle between Kaiji's idealism and Kazuyas cynicism.

Also, I'm not someone who needs a lot of "reasons" to not want someone to die in fiction. I really hoped the Asian Trio would get through everything alright.

Trust a jap, feel the slap.

>"sit back down, the dealer rolls twice"

>spolier
Was that the deep message?

Kaiji can be an evil bastard when he wants to.

...

youtube.com/watch?v=NeUI3HYUm6g

The last couple of chapters of part 3 were some of the best

>papers above anything
Literally a pointless arc with zero tension with three episodes of "here's what we gonna do" and one episode of youtube.com/watch?v=dqPxDYdbgoc

Ten deserves more love.

Ten made me cry

Beams were pretty interesting but dragged a bit too much.
Paper lottery arc is awful and leads to nothing.
Last five or so episodes of the Bog could easily have been condensed, which is a shame because it really kills the momentum after >HE TILTED THE BUILDING
Chinchiro arc might be some of the best TV ever produced anywhere, periode.

Maybe modern FKMT just doesn't lend itself very well to adapting?

kuyashi...

Kaiji literally saved my life.

I was in the deepest NEET trenches, days passing like hours, not sleeping, not eating, you know. Highschool drop out, no future, etc.
Then I watched Kaiji, E-Card spoke to me. The emperor, and more important the slave. I was the slave, I had nothing to lose, so why not gamble with the house's money? Take some big risks, throw myself at life without any fear or worry. Make Tonegawa proud, that sort of thing.

and you know what? Life is great now. I'm in University for something I love. Grades are great, living comfortably. I've crawled out of the grave, built a future for myself. The best part is, I'm not the emperor, not yet. I could call myself the citizen sure, but why not keep living as the slave? Until I become the emperor at least. Kaiji is the best.

>beams
Fuck this shit. It wasn't luck, it wasn't skill, it's just plain bullshit.

>tilted the ENTIRE BUILDING

damn that was hype

BEST FUCKING MOMENT

For every person whose bet paid off there's 999 for which it didn't and they are in a even deeper pit.

So how exactly did you do it user?

Its kinda shitty at 480p tho.

Explain how you gambled with the house's money

The thing about Tonegawa's speech is that although he tells the truth, he just says things that people already know or stuff that anyone can find out with the slightest bit of self reflection. He never actually tells them how to improve and better themselves given the situation they are in.
>you're human garbage
>get a better job losers
>stop wasting your life
>quit being addicted
>don't be in 300million in debt
No kiddin Tonegawa.

>expecting the guy handing predatory loans to help you sort yourself out and give you solutions so you don't end up in his debt forever
It wouldn't have been fitting for the character, would it?

>he just says things that people already know or stuff that anyone can find out with the slightest bit of self reflection
That's the thing.
There's a difference between knowing and doing.
Look at this board, how many hikkineets are there? How many underachievers? How many people who let chances to succeed at life pass by? How many perfectly know what they should be doing right now and yet do not do it? Thousands. And yet none of them care. They wake up and the first thing they do is get on this board to shitpost.

Knowing something and acting upon it are two very different things. Not many manage to do the latter. He's not supposed to spoonfed you the solution, he's supposed to make you realize what you already know, but truly realize it, so that you finally take that first step towards finding a solution for the core issue. Even just knowing yourself AND having someone tell you what you know but have never acted upon makes a big different, someone that is not you, something external.

If you never gamble you never win. When behind you lay only the valley of death, any path no matter the danger is the path to success.

I just stopped being afraid. Every reason I was a NEET stopped mattering. Stress or social anxiety stop mattering when you realize even they are an improvement and a path to betterment. Other's opinions stop even factoring in when you decide your future and happiness are all that matter to you. You stop putting in your own chips, social standing, self confidence, comfort, etc. Those aren't what you're betting anymore. You've taken out a low interest lone and filled the pot.
Gamble on getting with that girl, or just talking to those people, who cares what happens? If you lose you're just back to where you were 2 seconds ago.
Gamble on getting into school, don't get in? Well you're right back to where you were before you made the bet.
Gamble on that GPA and making your student loans pay off. You lost? Who cares, you didn't have a future before all this anyway.

You're not playing with your chips anymore. You don't have any chips. You're the slave, a cornered rat that has no choice but to lash out. Claw and bite without fear, because if you don't you'll just be devoured by the cat anyway.

True, though E-card is a big metaphor on how to go about it. That combined with just being alive and awake in the moment.

Did you actually gamble with the house's money? Why always choosing the hardest way though, why not just going to uni, study, find a nice job etc?

>with the slightest bit of self reflection
That's the point. When people don't have even that, someone has to show them that the hard way.
>how to improve and better themselves
Why spoon feed these losers, everyone has to find their way, work hard and succeed or stay a human garbage forever. If you expect someone to always show you the way, you'll never stop being useless loser.

>Look at this board, how many hikkineets are there? How many underachievers? How many people who let chances to succeed at life pass by? How many perfectly know what they should be doing right now and yet do not do it? Thousands. And yet none of them care. They wake up and the first thing they do is get on this board to shitpost.
wew projecting much?

Well, there were literally groups of episodes, where the ball didn't go anywhere interesting. It was just so slow, since it was more than half the seasons. Season 1 had 5 different games, and the pacing was good.

It was pretty slow but I was snorting up those episodes like cocaine. I'm glad I didn't watch it while it was still airing.

Everyone Kaiji fucks with deserves it though.

Will the two chinks betray him too in the future guys? ;_;

It's entirely possible. I'd be fucking pissed.

Everyone betrays him. I won't even be surprised.

i think the pacing works better in the manga since, you know, it's a manga.

>5 fucking chapters to turn the cards
Eh no, not really

Fuck i'm a pretty big normie but I have social anxiety but hearing this from a former neet actually gave me some confidence

not gonna go gamble money but I think I will try to take more life risks, thanks user.

Fucking loved this series.
The ultimate comfy binge show, with the greatest suspense I've ever seen.
The fact that they didn't shy away from things like death, loss, finger loss, and BUILDING TILTING makes kaijis wins feel so much more deserved.

The second half of the bog arc did drag on a little too much but when kaiji put his eyes on the money and finally won
It was one of the greatest feelings I got from a fictional story.

So my question is, where do I go from here?
I finished the anime and need more.
Where do I read the manga?
Is it still ongoing?
Also I heard something about a spinoff

I'm speaking metaphorically. I don't mean actual casinos and what not. Everything you do is a gamble. Good luck.

RPS = E-card > 17 steps > dice > raffle = Bog > beams > salvation game. Mind you I love every gamble with salvation game being the only one I'd call a weak game since beam race was shorter and more intense for Kaiji.

That being said, beams and salvation game got me the closest to crying. Shit like pic related almost made me slump over in tears.

One poker is alright so far, I'm not too spoiled on it so I'm not sure what direction it will go. As a gamble so far I'd probably put it on par with Bog/tissue box raffle.

Yeah manga is still ongoing and it's really good.

>mfw Mitsuyama starts apologising and the realisation hits me.

The conclusion of salvation game kinda lacked a big twist or trick or something like that but i still think it was really good and interesting.

Did you read the japanese raws?

>So my question is, where do I go from here?
Read the rest of the manga, Series 3 picks up where the anime left off.

>Where do I read the manga?
Either use an online reader or download the chapters from fkmtkrazy

>Is it still ongoing?
Yep, the original manga is at the end of Part 5, but the scanlation is only halfway through it.

>Also I heard something about a spinoff
There's Middle Manager Tonegawa which is a 3-chapter comedic spinoff about Tonegawas day-to-day life trying to invent new games for Hyodo.
