babby's first socialism in lyrical form is not red pilled

Those who fought the machine don't realize they're now the machine

>Ratm
>Red pilled

Literally how in the fuck do you even imply this? They are far left as fuck.

They got old and were replaced by children larping as musicians
The result of that speaks for itself

Even back in 1992 Rage Against the Machine was kind of cringey and tryhard, people were making fun of their edgy leftism back then too. Listening to them in 2017 makes them sound like political dinosaurs.

>Working for the Machine

fpbp

fpbp

20 years ago mate, if you and your pals were 'young adults' back then you would have been listening to them and supporting them too.
The political right had almost no real support from the young in those days.

Rage against the machine maaaaaan
>Signs a 4 album contract with Sony records the largest record company in the world
Fuck capitalism duuuuude! Buy our new record!
>*Wow wow wicky wow wow wicky wicky wow wow*

Bands used to be about raging AGAINST the machine.

Now they rage for the machine.

Rage are dumb bastards and I refuse to listen to their hypocrisy ever.
They are literal communists and talk about raging against the machine? It's moronic when you listen to it. They never picked up a book about anything they endorse. They are Atypical and generic as fuck.

This is complete horseshit. First, they gained momentum way before 1998. By 2000 they were already washed up and putting out corny "new" bullshit. Bulls on Parade was like '94 and people weren't supporting their bullshit political views, the band pretty much just hijacked the whole "mosh pit/crowd surfing" culture and added tunes to that people could punch each other to. Just because BC was prez doesn't mean people were just overwhelmingly leftist, especially not people in the hard-rock/punk/alternative scene at the time.

I was a young adult when RATM were around. I loved them and still do. Seen them twice live.

Their music is great but their politics is fucking cringe.

Red-pilled? These idiots were fucking judeo-commies

I remember when being red pilled had no political connotation. It just meant that you were woke. Now red pill means being alt right. Fuck what ever happened to pol.

Fuck all the new fags in this thread.

Following his performance Friday night (September 26) at the El Corazon as part of a benefit concert for 15 Now, the grassroots organization that successfully fought for a $15 minimum wage in Seattle, Morello and his entourage allegedly tried to get "a special room" at The 5 Point Cafe even though the place was already "at capacity" and there was "a line" of people waiting to get in. The restaurant's doorman apparently told Morello and his crew that he could not accommodate them, after which the guitarist took to his Twitter to blast the eatery, writing: "Five Point restaurant in Seattle is the WORST. Super rude & anti-worker. Shittiest doorman in the Northwest. Prick. Spread the word."

Also forgetting how their man-child of a drummer climbed the scaffolding at the Mtv Awards because they lost and tried to knock everything down in a tantrum.

>FUCK CAPITALISM
>our album goes on sale next week
>here's a list of our tour dates, get your tickets now!

They were red pilled in the sense of their disillusionment with both the Democrat and Republican parties in the US, recognizing both to be corrupt. This is probably due to influence by Noam Chomsky and Ralph Nader.

The problem with them is that instead of taking that red pill knowledge and reaching a logical conclusion, they went full pro-communism. There was just too much anti-Americanism and anti-capitalism.

If Sup Forums existed back then and they had found it when they were kids, they might very well be on the other end of the political spectrum today. This is something a lot of people don't get - the anti-fascists and far left people we consider retards, actually figured out the same things we figured out about the current state of affairs, but went in a completely different direction.

fpbp

You talk like someone who wasn't even around then
>Imagine my surprise

what was red pilled about rage against the machine ? they're a bunch of anti-white communists

I took his "20 years ago" to mean generally speaking. And he's right that at that time the political right had nearly zero support. In 1992 most here would have been on the left

>FUCK YOU I WON'T TIDY MY BEDROOM
They had a completely different sound to the pervasive grunge shit that was everywhere.
I remember moshing like fuck to 'killing in the name of'. It was a floor filler & keystone track in any self-respecting student night back then.

I remember trying to get mp3 of all their songs, but I never really liked them. Shitty band desu. Yeah I was a semi-communist sympathizer in the 90s

I'll be honest, I bought 3 of their albums loved them growing up, but after I found they stood for like 15 minutes naked in front of the crowd instead of playing music, I dropped them.

>Zack de la (((Rocha)))
>redpilled
Try again, shlomo.

>Zach is actually a creatura

Bpfp

Now Tom Morello is making punch a nazi monologues for audience cheers

>redpilled meant woke
Nigger pls

Imagine my surprise that an aussie would try to tell an American about an American band like they know shit about shit.
>Imagine my surprise
>158331203
>At that time the political right had zero support
>1992 election results 39 mil to 42 mil
>0 support
>most here would have been on the left
>not understanding even what this board is about
Fucking hell you idiots need to get off Sup Forums. You're talking out your ass and showing how new you are.

Bulls on Parade was '96.
That was Tim Commerford, their bass player. Not the drummer

this

Dude, I was into Zach's band before.
The hardcore band Inside-Out but RATM? Ever here about the CIA and Mockingbird hahaha
Yeah straight up subversion.

You clearly have a memory that stretches back only 2.5 years

...

FBPB.
I literally melted all my RATM CDs.

Oh and also, Tom is a Harvard grad. hmmm Secert Society much hahaha

I'm surprised Della Rocha hasn't made any public comments in years. He hasn't even said a single thing about Trump. I think he grew out of his Che Guevara stage

FUCK TRUMPF I WONT SCOOP WHAT U TELL ME
FUCK TRUMPF I WONT SCOOP WHAT U TELL ME
FUCK SCOOOOOPS I WONT DRUMPF IF U TELL MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEARGH

A SLICE OF PIE
NOT TWO OR ILL DIE
DRUMFY SUCKS AND KEK WILL SUICIDE

Im so sick of hearing all this bullshit about these old band or commedians being left or right. You sound like 4 year olds that dont know what youre talking about. I was alive then so i'll give you a better picture.

Most people didnt even know the difference between a rep and a dem, conservative or liberal. These things just werent a part of life like they are now. The people who listened to this music did not even know what a democrat or liberal was but they had tendencies which would represent Sup Forums right now. Most hated niggers and corruption and this anti racist shit was so rare. Bill hicks and george carlin were more of anarchists that had revolt to the system then left or right.

If these things were nearly as common as they were now you would hear about it, like they would talk about it in interview or in the music.

There were so many skaters that listen to punk that openly hated niggers (why wouldnt they?) and had extremely similar views to what Sup Forums has right now.

These people like Maynard were always faggot sell outs but most people didnt know because they have the internet. You could be a giant fan and not know what the bands personality was like.

youtube.com/watch?v=5P4LTdKIFSw&t=35s

Fucking nerds cameo'd on Star Trek

RATM as a band were probably designed by psychologists for money and anti-american propaganda purposes to the point where not a single detail about them was authentic. Chances are they don't even have the views the espouse in their songs if they even have any at all, and I wouldn't bet any money they themselves wrote those songs in the first place

B-But how do I understand something if it's not a binary, right vs left issue??

Basically. People today are trying way too hard to analyze shit back then that no one back then thought about to that extent. Different times. Although RATM did turn into faggots

You sound like a fool. Its so obvious you werent alive back then. No one really talked about politics like they do now. Most of the politics they talked were in the year before a presidential election and that wasnt kids or teens. Its so obvious youre a poser. Fucking retard. Learn to be honest so that you dont get hurt. Its a valuable lesson.

Fuck off. Just because you were a brainwashed drone, doesn't mean everyone was. I remember a few of my friends listening to these clowns, but I could never stomach their music because they came across as edgy faggots.
Also, not all of us jumped on the right-wing bandwagon within the past four years. Some of us have been in this fight for decades.

>being this clueless
red pilled.
Look at me, we are the machine now.
You rage against us, you die, comprende' compadre?

the only two red-pilled 90s bands that come to mind are pantera and danzig

how many were jews?

Yeah, look at AJJ. full caving to sjw, no spine whatsoever.

Ironically, Paul Ryan listens to them.

last I checked Rage Against the Machine were a bunch of liberal hippy faggots, but maybe that's just me.

Nickelback

Blink 182

fpbp

They have a literal white privilege song. I still like them though.
