Helck

Why is it so underrated

not enough of pig princess

Its actually really overrated. Its not good at all. Besides the main character it basically plays out like any other manga of its kind and it has long ago abandoned status as a parody

we've had plenty of discussion. At first I thought it was because of the US elections, but then it turns out he has a depressing past that gripped the hearts of its readers.

Try explaining the appeal to someone who dislikes FinalSwordMagicFantasy#93494 without spoilering.

piuy

Just tell them it's a gag manga that suddenly has a golden age style flashback.
That line got me to read it

Why the helck I would now?

Because
>demons good
>humans bad
I hate that trope. Every time I see Helck fights with the demons, I hope the enemy would win.

except that humans aren't really bad and demons are neutral.

The demons are definitely good, most people are just good too. Really, there's only a small handful of bad people. It's interesting at first, but then the 4 kings plot point really drops the ball.

FinalSwordMagicFantasy#93495 but good

Its alright. There are some good characters and good moments. and piuy is pretty cute.

Since when is 10221 followers considered "underrated"?

mal fuck off

Without spoilering.

Is /ourguy/ Rello still dead?

It is getting worse and worse. It was good when it was a gag manga with a bumbling hero trying for the demon lord position. Been going downhill ever since it became serious with the typical the super bad guys used to be human trope.

It betrayed the premise and tried to create a serious story.

It's okay, but nothing special and not at all what it was turning out to be near the beginning. Shame.

>"I outwit you"
>"That's what I want you to think. I actually outwit you"
>"You think I would fall for that? I outwit you."
>loop

That is my only complaint. These back and forth "outsmarting" is just not good.

imo the writing and execution are still generally solid even if the concept and events are too cliche
If the story doesn't end after they deal with the current issues and goes in a more lighthearted direction, it could be salvaged

>It betrayed the premise
>"I want to kill all humans."
All is rosy in manga-world.

If anything it fucks your average fantasy story over.

The more powerful the heroes, the more powerful the foe has to be.

I wonder if they'll try to enlist the northern threat against those strange warriors.

needs more SoL, like seriously.

it was funny for a while, but ever since they went to the kings castle it's been an atrocious mess and drag.

It all went to shit after they killed off rello.

nah, it went to shit when the king crushed piuy, the little fucker didn't deserved it

First chapters can be offputing to some, and don't really represents what the series turns out to be.

>FinalSwordMagicFantasy#93494
it's post apocalyptic
there's a presence of human vaults from thousand/million years prior

That's a spoiler.

Same. I'm enjoying it again, but the whole castle battle was tedious to read.

Your mouth must be a second anus considering how much shit you're spewing

Explain why level system exists.

I like it.
I actually laughed at some of the jokes and the romances are cute.
Not sure how I feel about the recent chapters, but they made me want to write a DnD campaign in the setting, and that's always a good sign.

I'd say to provide an easy reference for us to understand general character power levels, and, more specifically, for Helck to be more obviously overpowered early on and for the winged soldiers leveling up to be easy to understand and track for readers

Anime when

It was good until

This was a really good plottwist, demons and monster being fallout victims.

Considering it was right after Mikaros got anticlimactically killed, and it led to the Four Kings who also got anticlimactically ended, I can't agree. The concept of the ancient human city is fine enough, but it was just another plot twist in a cavalcade of plot twists that kept making the one right before irrelevant.

The only problem that I have with the manga is the current arc being so long, nothing besides that.

A reference to rpgs among many others.

I enjoyed everything until the actual arc, both the funny and serious parts, the chapter when Anne decides to save Helck is amazing and the best one for a lot of people.

Anne makes everything amazing.

When I was able to binge read it the recent arc wasn't so bad, but since I caught up a few chapters back, I got to agree that it is dragging now.

It never betrayed anything. It was always a serious story with jokes. That's how it started to introduced Helck.

It's rather overrated. I get what they were going for, but the writing is trash most of the time.

It´s a fun read, it´s not a masterpiece, but the characters are very likeable and their relationships too.

It´s pretty damn good for being the first long series of the author, he still have to learn how to make drag things less though, even if that is only a problem in the current chapters.

Nanaki Nanao is a girl.

That, poison and many other stuff are DQ references.
Plot-wise you can notice that only demons use level system.

It's unknown, but probably Nanaki is a guy.

Nanaki was one of the winners in Urasunday contest, and that's how he got to publish Helck there. Winners were invited to the restaraunt, and editor that posted some photos from that event commented that "all newcomers are ikemen".

I won't argue that, but I saw comments saying "her" and apparently Nanaki is a girls name.

>apparently Nanaki is a girls name
Because retards googled "Nanaki" and took the first result without questioning why would Japanese person have a Hindu name.
Nanaki is both male and female name. And it's probably just a pen name anyway, no way it actually is "nana nana".

Nanaki is her family name

Also the manga pretty much screams that it was written by a girl

>Also the manga pretty much screams that it was written by a girl
Explain.

Just like Konosuba

Yuusha ga shinda is still comedy at least.

I think if it went serious it could have done so well, but it keeps the lazy worldbuilding that you can only accept from comedy and doesn't build on it. Azudora and Helck and Anne are well written characters, the humans were mostly well written characters, but the demons whenever they try and extend past their gag or interact with the serious cast feel totally artificial by comparison. It's like two totally different series clashing against each other, and it doesn't always work.

But you're wrong. Nanao is the family name.

So the male childhood friend was fucking the sister right?
