ITT: Death Flags

>It's a promise!

>character that has received no development up until that point receives a random flashback before the OP plays

>Here, you can have this -lucky charm-, just make sure to hand it over once I get back

>MC suddenly giving side character attention after 89789798 episodes.

>Random episode gets titled after character

>SUFFERING character finds peace halfway in the story

>characters start talking about dreams
>one of then has a simple one like getting married/having a farm/live a happy life

this one is my favorite one.

>episode PV says the character dies

>extended flashback to show how much a character means to another
Although this show subverted it

>lets do X when I return

>I'll tell you more about my past once this is all over

Fucking dragon ball

>my wife and daughter are waiting for me

>Character appears in a Tomino show

>"I'll come back! I promise!"
>Dies

>streaming
>tumblr
Lurk for 2 years before posting.

>Plain looking/unattractive/old male character hanging out with MC
>He starts talking about his past/his dreams/refers to MC as "kid"

I haven't watched episode PVs since that happened in Gundam

>Previously handsome/beautiful looking bad guy starts making ugly faces

>Super duper cheerful genki girl who will become MC's love intere--
>Haha just kidding she's gonna die/dying/dead

Oh god, this one is bad. Or he/she starts bragging in a way that you're obviously supposed to think is gross/stupid.

Don't forget they get a whole episode of development before biting it.

>coughs blood

I laughed harder then I should have

>When the MC almost always acts like trash but suddenly he acts friendly and caring towards one of the hero party member
This chapter is so damn full of death flags, I'm damn worried about her.

>I'm not afraid of anything anymore!

>Sneezes

...

>Unremarkable background character suddenly gets a name

What's the deal with ruining villains characters before they die? I like it when a villain retains their personality right up to the end, feels much more satisfying.

I've always assumed it's to make the MC/whatever character is defeating them look much more reasonable and cool in comparison. It's really dumb.

>after X we gonna fuck

This traumatised me.

>when I come back I gonna ask you to marry me

>character has a locket with a picture of his wife and kids

>What was that?

>Scene that's happier then usually, with MC extremely happy with his friends.

...

>hey check out this photo of my wife and kids
I remember a character from somewhere who raised every single death flag there was to raise and the other characters were calling him out on it and begging him to stop. He survives the bad shit.

Whatever Yuuya's archetype is from Re: Creators is like a walking death flag. Kamina, too.

Fuck.

Fuck you Tomino.

>everything is extremely happy when commonly there are tragedies
berserk right now

...

>commonly there are tragedies
I'm sorry, what? When was the last time a major character died?

>Next episode: The magician's death
