Why do we build in modern architectural styles

I don't get it if we are striving for modernity, shouldn't we try to be building the grandest and most heavenly monuments, rather than all-glass 'innovative' structures?

GREEKS ARE BETTER THAN OTHER HUMANS

how did that little piece of shit on the bottom cost a billion dollars? Is there a time machine inside or something?

god knows

Jews. Unironically.

Greek architecture is superior to all others for government and institutions.

REMEMEBUR TEH ADUHMO

There's the heat island effect aka. lots of concrete gets hot. Glass is, in part, used to reflect light away.

fraud

Besides things like fraud and corruption, all these (((modern architecture))) buildings are more difficult to build than something classical. Odd geometric shapes, huge pieces of glass, steel everywhere. That is a lot harder and more expensive to build than normal geometric rectangles with bricks. Of course we build in modern style now since it is cultureless and soulless. That way the immigrant invaders feel more welcome and we can blend into a global society easier as our monuments have been torn down.

Insulation and central air. Also modern buildings with a fuck ton of sunlight inside are always stuffy for some reason.

Everyone has been a hipster contrarian for 60 years now. Don't bitch either, because you are too. Almost all of Sup Forums is.

If not for innovation you wouldnt have had classical architecture retard

>oh no it's hot
I'll take heat over ugly architecture anyday

I put 'innovation' in caps because modern architecture is simply pretending to be something new when really the same style has been around since the 1920s (Google Barcelona Pavillion)

1.5 million and seats 1000

Then attack it on the basis of being ugly and expensive, not on being new.

Modern architecture are more fragile and more immigration friendly for the illegal aliens to destroy.

STFU

and far more beautiful than the Hamburg building.

And then literally around the corner is the 1987 Wanganui School of Design

will post some more if you're interested in this place. It's the perfect mix of beauty and ugly

Same reason we no longer value the classics. Progressivism.

...

Used to have a fuckin sweet paintjob, everything was cream and mild pink

And then the most expensive building in the city

read this article, it explains the issue:

amazing how many proponents of shitty architecture are jewish

I always wondered why we don't renovate and use old Roman and other ancient structures
I mean they were literally built to last forever and it's a great way to both honor them and honor humanity in general
Why aren't we building a basilica in every town? We have the goddamn tech nobody could ever have imagined before

you dont know what modernity means do you?

unironically capitalism

>muh eternal post hoc bogeyman
Kys yourself zizek parrot

Have to go soon, have a little picture dump

You ever worked construction? Cunt's that are building 3 million dollar 500m2 homes will still ask for the cheapest fuckin frames imaginable. Everyone's a jew at heart.

...

...

...

Jews

commie city in city plan

Because they’re gonna be wiped out in a nuclear holocaust

>I always wondered why we don't renovate and use old Roman and other ancient structures
>namefag
>anti-American
You've probably always wondered all kinds of stupid shit, faggot
eat a bucket of AIDS and gtfo

...

...

Quite simply, architects used to take great pride in showing off their buildings

Now it's all about the money

the jews just want it to make it look like whites did nothing but slave and kill, why do you think they're demolishing classical architecture it just proves whites were better.

...

...

...

Also cunt's used to foreman buildings for up to 20 years at a time. Now its up in a few weeks and you move onto something else.

Saddest one

...

bleh, and they've built this in the castle

The bottom one would look good if the top part were squared off without the stupid fucking curves.

Why are you Hungrys so spire crazy? It's not as bad as the Germans but cmon, its getting silly.

Roger Scruton says it more eloquently than I could.

Nobody’s bashing the actual concept of innovation, you strawmanning retard.

My favorite is how they blocked the view of the Louvre with that piece of shopping mall art. Is there a more offensive piece of modern art than that?

Socialist rule in Hamburg, they couldn‘t build a shantytown if they wanted to, thats what they need all the migrants for.

We need more Victorian houses.
There's a neighborhood in my city, built in the 1870s as a very early little suburb, which has beautiful Victorian houses. Too bad they're now all split into apartments full of niggers.

quick and dirty example

add in a soffit and remove the wierd gaps in the brick

Magyar brother, wasn't like 90% of Budapest destroyed? Perfect opportunity to turn all those classical buildings into shitbricks.
I do like Ferenciek Ter though, most of the facades still hold some truth to them.

ugly
soft spot for midcentury architecture
Where I live in Vancouver, many new suburban buildings are following the new trend of new classicalism, but not larger apartment buildings sadly

You used to be able to see it. Why would they let someone block the view with a trite glass pyramid? It's a defacement, like a mustache on the Mona Lisa.

Why not just go ahead and put a glass pyramid in front of all works of art so you can't see them?

Hate these cheapo townhouse condos/apartments meant to give clueless consumers the idea that they live in a real house. It's like those BMW hatchbacks that had a vestigial "trunk" so it looked more like a real car.

Looks cute in the rendering but will look like the mortgage crisis causing garbage it is within a year or so.

The fuck is that cladding?

I think they look good. These are a few from New West.

it's alright. My problem is the windows

My problem is it having about as much in common with tudor houses as this place has with a castle

It's the vinyl siding that makes them look so cheap and flimsy
