KyoAni

What's stopping them from making an idol anime?

Standards.

I'd like to say "market saturation" but that doesn't stop them from cranking out dull SOLs.
pic not related, you hyperoffended autismos

I think an Ishihara-directed idol anime would be better than a Yamada-directed one
Actually no idea why they don't do one

>implying

>I'd like to say "market saturation"

It's pretty much this unless KyoAni goes for the Glee/High School Musical route and make it shipping galore for everyone

Talent.

KyoAni should do anime La La Land.

Kyoukai No Kanata was one of Kyoani's best.
Fight me.

That doesn't make sense

I didn't even see La La Land but this looks alright

If you don't have taste, you don't have brain its inherent so I'm not gonna waste my time

Idol anime these days seem to have a propensity for involving instruments, and KyoAni's already done K-ON. I don't think they need to do anything else.

T7S never.

...

To make a successful idol anime one must have backing from big publishers, big merch companies, big music publishers, and huge VAs. Kyoani might have artistic integrity and great worth ethics but that doesn't matter, just look at Sunrise or A1, they're garbage yet make succesful idolshit shows.

I agree with you man

Do they really need a successful "idol anime" though? If they went about it the regular way, it could still be a successful "anime", even if it fails by Love Live standards? Just make it good, and even if it isn't a Love Live killer it could still be successful, at least compared to their recent flops.

I would like an idol anime of the greatest Kyoani quality. With good animation and good characters. But KnK isn't good, I'd want it different.

they need to adapted Katawa Shoujo.

Just give some royalties to Sup Forums to keep the servers on.

You definitely should. La La Land was a great experience to enjoy.

Fugg

>their recent flops.
?

>amagi
>phantom sales
>kobayashi
>standards
Nice one kyoanus.

>idol anime
At most they will do a male idol shit, because they clearly don't care about seinen male otaku anymore, it's either teen boys, whole family or women, and none of those would like an idol show.

Love Live has a lot of female fans.

>because they clearly don't care about seinen male otaku anymore

thank god for that

That's true, but everything that popular does to an extent. Still less than males, and it needed the strong core fanatic male audience to blow up. As per usual, the target audience for girl idols are male otaku, and vice versa.

Though I wouldn't put it completely past KyoAni to do a cake/MILF idol series, since that's the other thing they're pushing now.

Only Phantom World is bad out of those.

>wanting more idolshit

>not wanting more idols

Did you watch Phantom World?

Kobayashi was for older otaku

They already made K-On, and idol anime like Love Live and Idolmaster are just K-On wannabes.

No, it wasn't.

There is nothing wrong with Phantom World.

Phantom World, KnK
Can't think of anything else that's clearly, but if we go far back, Tamako

>2/3 of those got movies
>flop

It was. MC is adult salaryman dealing with loneliness and longing for family. Very relatable for older otaku.

>relatable for older otaku
Maybe, but otaku don't need self insert, and the adaptation was clearly for whole family, as they purposedly removed the loli lewd service.
And don't even start with the twister scene.

Phantom World is completely fine, only people that blurt the "standards and muh family friendly" meme don't like it.

>Phantom World is completely fine
>

Epic argument dude.

>Though I wouldn't put it completely past KyoAni to do a cake/MILF idol series, since that's the other thing they're pushing now.

That in itself is an interesting premise especially if it wraps it around those older women trying to find their place
