Answer me this, atheists of Sup Forums: The oldest star in the sky is 6,000 light years away. The bible claims the universe is 6,000 years old.
If the universe was 14 billion years old, the oldest visible star should be 14 billion light years away and the night-sky should look practically white with all the stars. Instead, the oldest visible star is 6,000 light years away.
there are stars more than a million light years away, the milky way galaxy itself is 60,000 - 100,000 lightyears across
saging an obvious slide thread take you crap to /x/

I'm not a creationist, but that's not a good objection to creationism in general, since "creation" is an ex nihilo event. Meaning that a creator could configure it any way he desired at the outset. Think of it this way - let's say you design a video game with adult characters. At the moment the game is played for the first time, the game is new, but the characters are "adult-aged." But it wouldn't be sensible to say that since a game character is 50, that the game must be at least 50 years of age.
Jacob Thompson
You can't measure distance in space. No you can't use redshift either - it provides age not speed of acceleration (Halton Arp). Stars were revealed to humans ca 10k years ago when we switched sun from saturn to present - electric universe. Universe is of unknown age and origin. Black holes not real dark matter and energy not real - Steven Crothers and quite recent observations disprove those concepts.
Brody Ortiz
Please tell me more about all of this How can Saturn be a sun? Where did the sun come from ect

(SMSS J031300.362670839.3) is located 6,000 light-years from Earth. (SMSS J031300.362670839.3) is the oldest star in the observable universe.
Xavier Adams
My God doesn't play tricks. The universe is as old as it appears: 6,000 years.
Lincoln Morales
we've already done some accurate distance measurements thanks to gravitational lensing effects
stars really are as far away as we think they are

>You can't measure distance in space. You absolutely can, even without redshift. It's called parallax, and it's proof that the universe of the bible is real.

What? Our own sun is 4.6 billion years old.

Carter Nguyen
How do you prove that without using godless "models" of the universe? Godless models can't even predict the age of our own planet.
>Scientists think SMSS J031300.362670839.3 is probably at least 13 billion years old, though they do not know its exact age, Anna Frebel, an MIT astronomer associated with the research, said This is from the article you cited. Please kill yourself.
