Scanlation Thread

New one since the other got archived.

So anyone interested in Kamijo Atsushi's works? Need a translator, I've bought some of his super old works, also want to finish SEX once and for all. I'm interested in bringing to life Chrono Crowd too. Who's with me?

Also, god damnit, can anyone tell what's with the new ebj rip? I haven't heard anything about it and I need. Ppl at jc forum won't say anything and all the scripts shared there are ded

Maybe it's time to make a tool for the desktop viewer. How much stuff on ebj is browser-only anyway?

Lol never used the desktop viewer I should try it. Which are the pluses?

Maybe the quality is better but it uses some custom format anyway.

Please just tell me to use a font.

C-cute handwritting user.

Thank you to the user providing us with Yakumo-san raws
I'm guessing you're from around here atleast, don't see people capable of ripping from ebj that often. You don't read your batoto messages, but I still want to thank you

You're not going to find many people who've read Kamijo on Sup Forums.

Somebody recognizes this font?

Fontsquirrel says it's DJB Almost Perfect, I think it may be it.

Spot on, thanks a lot user.

I scanned the first volume of Sumire 16 since it was cheap. I'd like to replace the current 1000px mag scanlations with some proper tank scans, so if you're interested in editing, let me know. I'll dump Sumire later this week as well and try to find someone.

May I ask, where is the next chapter of Anko-san?

I haven't heard from the guy in months. Almost forgot about the series. I'll email him again.

Thanks

for the user from previous threads, if you notice something let me know.

i think i'm overleveling this, ¿some advice?

I tried lel

Does anyone have recommendations on sites for finding magazine and volume raws for Natsume Yuujinchou? I grabbed some of the volumes off of Nyaa because they had seeds, but the others are dead and there aren't that many of them. And I'd like to see how many chapters have come out since October and what's been happening in the magazine.

You are overleveling. Go lighter on the blacks.

Yes, if you look at the original scan the black hair is most definitely supposed to be black, and the gradient is supposed to be gray. However, due to the shitty printing, this black and gray are the same color. Therefore, you should level so that the gray remains gray, and then burn the black (I don't know what other techniques cleaners use) to a proper black. Unfortunately there's no way to run this scan through a filter and have it come out perfect. This is why magazine scans suck.

Just downloaded all 21 volumes from Nyaa easily right now, they all have seeds. Unfortunately I can't find the magazine anywhere. Also I checked the chinese scans a while ago and it seems Natsume is at chapter 99, so we're 15 chapters behind.

Here's the last EBJ script I posted a while ago, it still works. Link is valid for 24 hours. Use Firefox with GM, narrow up your browser window to force it in single page mode and use a Photoshop action to crop semi-transparent pixels and it'll give you what you want.

Thanks, looking forward to giving this a shot.

Thank you very much. It looks great.

Can someone fully scanlate Hyouryuu net cafe ffs?

>ffs
check your entitlement

Thank you. Let's hope that it keeps working for a while before it breaks again.

I'm the guy who translated the first couple of chapters. I stopped because cleaning the raws became a nightmare at one point.

Literally where I stopped. Volume 3, chapter 20. Also, a guy said he wanted to typeset for me, but ran away after seeing the amount of cleaning required. That also pretty much killed my motivation to continue.

Ha, I can relate. They never ever give you a notice or anything.

Are you talking about the walls of text? Can't you just put the translation under the panels in that white space? I mean it wont look good but still.
sorry

Having the word "raped" written in small-print in the white space wouldn't have as much impact compared to when it's splashed across a whole panel.

Ewww. Just use janitor.

I just found out there's an easy way to clean bubbles by using the magic wand, but I still prefer clone stamp. Am I autistic?

>clone stamp for cleaning bubbles
What? Just use a pencil and the white color.

What in the fuck?

This

How I use that? I never ripped with this before, I wanted to try.

Bubbles are mostly plain white. If you don't want to use the magic wand, then use a white pencil.

Can someone help me out with this?

The pattern is a mess, whatever I try looks like shit

That's literally as easy as it gets, user.
I just did it in about 30 seconds but Sup Forums is saying the image is corrupt so I can't upload it for some reason. Just try and match up the pattern as best as you can, it really shouldn't take more than a minute.

Zoom in really close, then match up the pattern.
You can zoom out after you click once.

I'm too autistic for this

That looks fine. if part of it really bothers you, just cover that part with the text.

How do you shrink the brush size without entering the right click menu?

>this massive amount of needless effort
I'd say apply yourself, but you're already doing too much of that.

Work smart, not hard.

[ and ] keys.
Or if you're using a mouse, hold alt and the right click button and drag left-right for brush size and up-down for hardness.

I keep forgetting that caf exists. It has given me shitty results in the past, which is why I've kind of forgot about it.

Holy shit, thanks.

It works well with consistent patterns.
It doesn't work well with any kind of uneven drawing.

I tried it but I'm still having the same problem I had in Please help me I'm retarded.

Should I even bother with these author's notes? I don't think anyone even read these

Tried too, just messing around

Is this the one about the cute little sisters teaching his brother how to dress?
I actually read them.

I read them. There's sometimes something interesting in them.

If you don't do them, then no one will do them. Just get it over with. I hate when people skip author comments. Hox skipped like three pages on Nishioka's Journey to the End of the World with the half-assed reason of "it might influence readers' opinions of the work."

You bothered to translate the entire manga / doujin / whatever yet you don't care about what the person who created it has to say about it?

I do care, that's why I translated 11 of them. But so many times I've seen people in the comment section discuss things that are already mentioned in these notes, which is why I don't think anyone even read these

In my experience, it's debatable whether most of the people who post in comment sections even read the chapter itself let alone any extras after it.

If the raws are shitty just ask someone like elemhunter to scan it.

He means they're a pain to redraw.

how about this

Will someone pick up Poro?

Does anybody know what font this is?

i.4cdn.org/a/1498492650568.png

CC Yada Yada
CC Dave Gibbons, or
CC Blah Blah

Looks more similar to Dave Gibbons

Yes, it's blah blah bold. Thank you, user.

>I'll try it. Chocolatkey script is faulty the script seems to detect stuff on ebj site but the key to activate it just don't work anymore.

Hey, maybe this is the wrong place to ask but I was wondering if anyone here had read or knew of anyone who would pick up Battle Studies?

It's already got about ten volumes and is still ongoing and to be honest, I don't really know much about it (or anything really) but I fucking love the art on the covers and it makes me think of Masanori Morita's covers so I thought maybe it's a really awesome series that nobody notices.

Damnit can even write a post correctly. Anyways just tested it. Works fine, i guess it's like using snagit but less buggy and with all the compatibility issues.

looks nice too bad I'm not a TL

yeah i figured but I asked anyways one never knows who might be interested in the same things

he wrote in the same post, use GM on FF, I tried tamper on chrome it works too.

apta is working this right? 15 chapters huh it should be a 22 volume soon or what, why they're not bundling when there's so much already released...

What is FF? Sorry for being this noob.

FireFox

It wasn't the author's comments. It was a completely unrelated French literature professor commenting on Nishioka's Journey to the End of the World, hence why I didn't bother. Still a lazy move on my part, but I would've translated it if were the author's comments.

Check the web console in the dev menu, see if it throws any errors in there. Otherwise, are you trying to rip a LN or some other shit that isn't mango, because that's not gonna work at all.

Ahhh, I was slow to get that shit, thank you user!

Understandable but still disappointing.

Having a series translated is always better than not having it translated.

Curses, which do I trust

Why is it so hard to write on tablets? I can write just fine on paper.

Nichijou has such few chapters left to translate, why isn't anyone on it?

Because it's a shitty series.

It's not, that's just my poor handwriting.
Unless you're using a drawing tablet, then yeah I can see why it would be hard. Try out a pen enabled display sometime.

Wrong

Nichijou has too many weird puns. I tried translating once and it felt like shit having half of the jokes lost in translation. I wonder if this is how subbing SYD feels like.
