Cameron Diaz.

The brother.

The tall chick, eyebrows deserved more suffering

fpbp

But she did nothing wrong... right?

Nigger, if you're going to restructure a sentence to prevent ending it with a preposition, why would you then end it with that same preposition?

If you're asking, the title is Teppu. It's actually in the OP's image

I have to admit, I didn't really unerstand the explanation for what was so weird about her

Me neither. It was because she never gives up or is never not optimistic even when losing right? And that freaks people out or something.

I have to admit between all the long hiatuses and being a monthly manga I somehow lost track of some of the plot points.
I should give it a re-read sometime.

Apart from breaking Cameron Diaz's spirit, pretty much

she was too pure

She's more like the kind of kid that gets all her bones broken doing a thing and comes back next day to continue doing the same thing.

Just pure childlike madness.

I think she basically lacked certain negative emotions most people might get from losing, like I dunno, disappointment, frustration. distress, whatever.

Still, i never felt it was all that clear what it was about her that unnerved people

who is the cutest?

Really wanted this manga to go on, but I guess the author had health problems. On a different note I'm surprised that the moe infestation has had little to no influence in MMA themed manga/anime. This is a good thing.

It's not fair
Eyebrows didn't deserve to win

The protagonist.

She was basically Shirou Emiya but without the messiah complex.

Man, I loved the fighting aspects of Teppu but every single character was manface as fuck. The males were girlier than the actual girls.

She did. Even if Yuzuko has no talent, she works hard and in real-life martial arts those are the ones who win.

Natsuo and Kyameron Deiasu

From a certain point of view it was obvious eyebrows was going to win, since she trained far more and bad much more experience (it was also a major plot point in the ending, since Natsuo was beated by someone who didn't have any talent in martial arts), but I can see why people complain about her winning.
While she was certainly the favoured to win the match theorically, the way she won was totally unbelivable, Eyebrows get beaten quite a bit in her previous matches and get beaten badly during her fight with Natsuo, especially the kick in the solar plexus that makes the way she defeated the protagonist absolutely idiotic.

I think because she lacks, or don't show, emotion, in particolar she seems to lack empathy.

It's not that different from reality

probably but Natsuo didnt deserve it either

When was that?

I never really understood that last chapter or two.
Was the brother actually there? Or was that her oxygen deprived brain making the illusion? I know the followup with the TV-time and laughing was all in her head, but was her brother at the match?

Kinda sad but even though I can't understand what happened in the last two, it's the only two I can even remember at this point as well. Why the fuck does she even give a shit about the brother, shut-in neet?

>Why the fuck does she even give a shit about the brother, shut-in neet?

Because he's the self-insert.

Okay, sure. I may have to reread this. Shame it'll never continue again.

There will always be doujins.

he was

>you will never tend to eyebrows' face

ZOOM PANCHI!!!

is Ohta dead, dying or recovering?

Is the mangaka still alive ? Last I read he/she rushed the ending to this becuase illness

ringi

bato.to/reader#eeb193df15373560_41

She was absolutely unfazed by pain. Ringi admitted that initially she didn't like her and beat the shit out of her to get her to quit, but she didn't mind at all. Once she got good, she would have no restrain beating the shit out of others for the same reason.
Frankly, that actually is scary. I would rather fight someone like Natsuo, someone that fully understand what it means to take a beating, even if it pleases her giving one out of spite, than someone like her.

Cat Goddess

I really hated that eyebrow bitch. fuck the mangaka I hope he dies in pain.

Eyebrows of course.

her and the korean loli

Am i the only one that finds all characters completely unlikable?
Everyone is either arrogant or a downright asshole

some are bigger jerks then others, the biggest being the MC and her rival.
I utterly despise both.

MC is a cunt but her rival is the best girl.

There's no reason to root for her success if the MC is automagically good at everything she does.

>good at everything
But she isn't. She just knows how to fight. And eyebrows takes even that away from her.

>She just knows how to fight
And volleyball.
And academics.
And she only needs to put in 1/10th the effort other people need to become more skilled than them.
And she makes up winning strategies on the fly.
And JC van Damme kicks.

She's unlikable because she doesn't have to work for her success. It all comes naturally to her, and she never has to grow or learn.
There's no reason to want her to succeed, because she's already succeeding at everything.

She probably will grow and learn later on, if there were more chapters. MMA seemed to be the one thing that didn't bore her and that she wasn't the absolute best at. It's a shame the Mangaka got sick.

...

She's a mary sue created for girls and people who like girls like that.

It's not a story of growth at all.

>She's a mary sue
No, she's an asshole, it's rather a large and pronounced character trait

Korean cutie

I can't believe people can actually dislike them.

>Eyebrows get beaten quite a bit in her previous matches
and Natsuo got beaten a lot in her previous match

>and get beaten badly during her fight with Natsuo
happened to Natsuo as well

there are plenty of reasons, unless you lack empathy

>And she only needs to put in 1/10th the effort other people need to become more skilled than them.
exaggerating, she has a good headstart when compared to the average
>And she makes up winning strategies on the fly.
happened only once user, if you couldn't understand why that's fine
>she never has to grow or learn
quite the opposite actually
>she's already succeeding at everything
obviously untrue

>mary sue
what's your definition of a mary sue?

I will always cheer for the BJJ practitioner

>Why the fuck does she even give a shit about the brother, shut-in neet?
Guilt, presumably.

I actually love stories about talented people learning hard work, so I was rooting for Natsuo.

I rooted for Yuzuko more since I think she was the one who deserved to win as she trained hard and long and put lots of effort into becoming the fighter she is. I also rooted a little for Yuzuko on an emotional level and Natsuo a lot, because of her journey and how much it all meant to her.
If Teppu would've gone it's original route I wonder if Natsuo would have instead won the final match. I think if it would've happened, she would've gone down a very depressing and lonely road and as a reader I would've felt really depressed and cared even more than I already did for Natsuo's journey. My heart would get ripped out if it happened is how I feel like.

Nope, it finished a few years ago.

>she trained hard and long
Mistake I made, should've written "harder and longer".

>literally a story about the talented MC getting btfo by hard work and experience
>hurr its a mary sue
are you retarded?

just fuck already

She is autistically obsessed with fighting.

SHES HURT

Why fuck when you can fight?

She was a shonen protagonist dropped into a more realistic seinen setting where any person would naturally perceive that kind of unwavering optimism and determination even in the face of brutal pain as being signs of a person having a few screws loose.

Yuzuko seems to have almost no (if any) sensitivity to painful stimuli and as a result has a lack of empathy to some extent. You can see this in her fights in which she shows no hesitation in causing pain to others to win, or any fear in putting herself in danger (once in the last fight with Natsuo she got kicked right in the face as she tried to catch Natsuo) and how she gives almost no reaction to most of the damage she receives. This is also why Yuzuko feels somewhat lonely throughout the series and is so happy to meet someone like Natsuo, who seems like herself. Natsuo makes it clear though by the end that they aren't alike and so Yuzuko feels a great void knowing this and feels truly alone for once. In this sense it's kind of "romantic", two lonely people find the "right" person they needed/wanted to meet. There's more to it but that's all I'm writing for now.

What you're failing to understand is that this was a fighting manga being told from the perspective of the type of character that is usually the antagonist. In other words, she is the Heel.

It ended too soon. What was given is absolute shit

Thanks for perfectly explaining what, exactly, I hated about her that I couldn't quite put my finger on.

>ERROR [10030]: The thing you're looking for is unavailable. It may be due to:
Just my luck.

Manga Protagonist
she doesnt understand what "give up" means, but not because she's prideful, but because she's retarded

works on my machine ;)

>what's your definition of a mary sue?
Female character that is not my waifu.

Sent. :^)

I didn't care. They suddenly went into psyche mode so I just wanted to see how it would play out.

>she shows no hesitation in causing pain to others to win
To make this more clear, she doesn't understand the consequences of what she does/can do in a fight, the only restrictions she has on her are the rules. When I reread Teppu, this scene (pic related) left me horrified. The only thing which stopped Yuzuko from straight up killing her opponent right in front of an audience was the referee. This oblivious and naive side of Yuzuko is also one thing Natsuo hates about her.

That better not be a girl vs a dude. Shit wouldn't even be remotely close.

That's just typical mma though. You both agree to fuck each other up within the ruleset, and hopefully the ref steps in before you kill them.

Shouldn't reply to bait, but someone could get confused
>and Natsuo got beaten a lot in her previous match
Really?
>Happened to Natsuo as well
The final match can be divided into two distinct parts, the first one where more or less the match was one sided with Natsuo beating the shit out of eyebrows, the second part where Yuzuko goes full terminator and win in quite an absurd way.
Usually that's why people, me included, thought the final fight was pretty luck-luster.
I mean, eyebrows had all the reason to win, since she trained for much longer and had much more experience, especially in sumbission, but in a somewhat realistic manga her winning felt quite unbelivable.

>a reply with same amount of effort put into it
>bait
Well I guess I'm replying to bait as well.

>Really?
Yes, in the fight against Sanae.

>The final match can be divided into two distinct parts, the first one where more or less the match was one sided with Natsuo beating the shit out of eyebrows
>Natsuo beating the shit out of eyebrows
This is an exaggeration, during the whole fight Yuzuko gets a punch to the face which had almost no effect on her (mostly just a surprise), a kick to the face without much power as she was trying to distance herself and didn't have much balance, a knee to the abdomen and the solar plexus kick. That's it. She successfully protects herself for the rest of it and there're two hits which doesn't affect or damage her in any significant way.
In the first part, which you seem to say ends when Natsuo stops throwing out all of those punches (as after that Yuzuko begins her barrage of punches on Natsuo), the only thing of significance Yuzuko gets is a single punch to the face, and you call that:
>Natsuo beating the shit out of eyebrows
I'm not going to bother with the rest of your actual bait.

Now that the dust has settled, manga wasnt that good t/bh.

Teppu was a lot of fun to read.

Natsuo's thing is that she knows she has talent but has a hard time taking pleasure from either wins or losses. If she wins she's kinda happy for an instant but ends up just chalking it up to her innate talents carrying her through again and loses interest, and if she loses she kinda seems to like it because it means she has room to grow but after taking momentary pleasure of refining herself to win she does the former again.

So basically it's a cycle of momentary satisfaction leading into ennui/dissatisfaction because she's kind of a busted human being.

Eyebrows just enjoys MMA. Like a whole bunch. Even if she gets the shit beaten out of her time and time again. She's busted in a way where no matter what happens she's pretty happy which is the opposite of Natsuo who is never satisfied no matter what.
