Baki Dou 164

"it's like the pickle fight, but you don't care who wins"

Oops. Should have said "translation" in the OP subject line; whatever.

>Chapter 164: Palace of Muscle

>N: Year 1XXX, Kokura
>N: Concerning Hasebe Tei
>Tei: Ahahahaha!
>T: Amazing!
>Fag: Wonderful.

>T: Its weight is...?
>F: 747 kan (2.8 tons) -
>F: Easily, four times the average.
>T: I'd heard rumours, but...
>T: Seeing it is nothing like hearing it.
>T: Something this great must be...

>T: A monster.
>Peasant: [peasant noises]

>T: What do you think, Musashi-dono?
>Musashi: 'What do I think'...?

>T: Could you beat it?
>M: 'Could I beat it'...?
>T: I see...

>T: Miyamoto Musashi, peerless against human opponents,
>T: Will still flee from monsters.
>T: It's not human,
>T: And it's like that beast from the mountains.
>T: Are you afraid, Musashi?

...

...

...

>M: You, also, say such odd things, Hasebe-dono.
>M: You would not ask, of a chef before a cutting board which had a fish on it,
>M: "Can you beat this fish?"
>T: C-certainly, not.

...

>Some Idiot: Whoaa!
>SI: He cut him!?
>SI: He cut him!!!

...

>M: I intended to chop his torso...
>M: Into halves,
>M: With one swing...

>Utsumi: He-
>U: He's been cut...
>M: Far short of bifurcation -
>M: Not one bone was severed.

Where can I read Baki dou? most places stop at 135.

Please respond

>M: Palace of meat which outdoes even that mad ox.
>M: After having been cut,
>M: What will you show me?

>Hanayama: Err, it's a bit late, but...
>H: Sorry.

Here.

>H: It's not because I'm holding onto it.
>H: Have it back.
>U: Wha...!!!
>M: You...

>M: Are such a troublesome man!!!
>H: Hm?
>Utsugawa: That's Hanayama for you!!!

NO ANIME NEWS NO HYPE IT'S BEEN LIKE 11 MONTHS END SCENE

I think Dou is about 2/3rd finished, musashi will kill some more characters, yujiro will job and baki will figure out his path.
Then starts part 5.

Hey, anyone watched Tiger Mask W? On the latest episodes the MC had a downwards kick + knee to the chin combo move much like Baki's Tiger King, with tiger jaw imagery and all. Did it copy Baki, or did Baki copy the original Tiger Mask?

You motherfucker :(

>[peasant noises]

haha

I would have guessed Baki was going to fight Musashi right after Motobe. This whole Hanayama stuff feels like filler.

Pretty sure it's just a dumbass wrestling move that's simply very hard to pull off.

leave musashi to me

The gook scans had this ad for some Baki fighting game app. Anyone tried to download it?

...

I didn't include it because there's nothing to include.

...

I don't think this move was in the original, so chances are they just copied Baki. Or had the same idea, who knows.

By-the-by: I'm fairly certain that the move in question is not 'from' Baki; it's from Garouden. I've never seen the Garouden novels, but Koou (name of the move) is definitely in the manga before 2012.

Baki used it in the first series when he fought Tokugawa's head of security.

...

You're right. But, that was published in 1995. The Garouden novels began publication in 1985. But who knows where in the novels that the Koou first appeared? Moreover, who cares. I'm not gonna look into it any further; feel free to research it yourself if you should like. Info's available in English, it's just disorganized and decentralized as all hell.

No idea how old the novels are, so you may be right. Is the Takemiya name from there?

...

I don't know who/what Takemiya is, sorry.
On the text of the pages that you're posting: don't believe Wild Fang's lies

...

Even though I shouldn't be interested, I couldn't help but search Takemiya Ryuu after you gave me that name. Apparently, it is the name of the fighting style of a certain character in Garouden. Dunno what they were getting at with that but, as I said, Garouden was 10 years prior; it probably used the move first.
