Just an example from experience
Around 2007 or so I was seeing this one chick and her roommate was a really reserved but intelligent libertarian chick which honestly was part of the reason why I liked going over to her place. she was always down for shooting the shit and heavy drinking. I had no idea her roommate was a tranny until after our relationship ended because she never brought it up. In retrospect "You look like a slightly less feminine Kurt Cobain" as an insult and her laughing at it was really broshipish and I wish I was still friends with her.
trannies weren't always twitter drama whores doing whatever they think is lefty-fashionable. The trannies I met 10-15 years ago were all pretty self aware and either fabulous drag types or low key felt the things the modern ones claim to and almost all of them were strangely conservative.
