Basically the public broadcast editors are interpreting being "politically incorrect" simply as "insulting", which of course is completely bullshit.
Calling Lille a "Nazischlampe" is not politically incorrect, it's a straight forward insult. Calling her f.i. a "Populistenlesbe" would be politically incorrect because it's blatantly pointing out two of her confirmed attributes.
In the case of Welke's team, this had nothing to do with politically incorrect content. The intent from the start was to mock Amann on the base of his stammering in regards to his statement of "learning the language". That was the entire joke, and it was done with malicious intent.
OTOH what do we do over here:
