I get that but what I meant was that the show favors him and fucks over Tom, sometimes in horrific ways, so much that it can get annoying to watch. Of course, this isn't much of a problem in the early stuck but as the show went along this caused it to become unwatchable.

The size difference and chase dynamic immediately inform Tom as the antagonist, only occasionally will a cartoon include that this is Tom's job and he'll be kicked out of his home if he doesn't remove mice, and it's only in hindsight that Jerry was the invader with all the freedom to target elsewhere and avoid this conflict.

Seen the entire list besides Fight! Pyuta! It's a respectable list but mine would probably be quite different and I think Anno's would too had he grown up in any other era. Not trying to say that the list isn't full of bonafide classics that are still great today but given the way almost everything is from the 70s or early 80s I would have to say that the choices are highly influenced by the time period in which he was getting into anime.

CCA is the opposite of a pleb filter. It has great animation and lots of action which any pleb would latch on to and immediately call great as though those are the only important aspects for anime.
