good hype stuff, good fights, characters, sometimes too much fanservice when its not needed in parts but it is what it is.

Shame it got canceled so the author had to hurry up and wrap everything up, Most of the bad guys didn't even got defeated.

It had potential, but after the tournament arc it just sort of meandered a bit (Outside of the Salary Man's arc) until the author got the call to wrap it up within a a ridiculously short time period.

Shame it got axed, I really wanted a china arc with the sect of the chinese master and more development for Kenichi´s comrades

I heard not only Kenichi, but all veteran manga from Sunday (except Detective Conan I think) got axed then because editors wanted some new manga? What the fuck? That sounds like a terrible plan.

I thought it was a pretty great shonen fighting series for the first 250 chapters, but after that it went downhill, but still had the odd good moment here and there

The fanservice became a little repetative and trite after a while, but insofar as martial arts manga are concerned it has one of my favorite kind of story at its heart. Most of the characters were great but as other ITT have said it fell flat and had a rushed ending.

I don't get why he turned the fanservice to the 11.

I think an editor or someone wanted them to launch a bunch of new series for their anniversary

I feel like it was the baki for kids in its fighting.
people complain about the fanservice but I don't see how it took anything away from the story.
an actual developing romance that had actual results.the mc not staying as a complete faggot white knight about not hitting women in a fighting manga.

now the bad, fucking swordsman version of superman coming out of nowhere.hyping up the plot about mius dad being evil but nope two masters. probably between 10-15 chapters towards the ending, that felt like a mess.

Should have ended after he fought feather earring guy. At that point he had fulfilled all his promises to get stronger and Protect Miu. He'd gotten her and her grandfather's recognition and things could have wrapped up from there instead of going into the next insane arc.

In my view it went from a neat premise to something completely fucked up. When it was all about Kenichi, a weakling, growing strong via legit real life training methods and the masters were comic relief characters it was nice.

But then the author got it into his head that the masters - these superhuman, incincible characters - getting into fights in which fucking nothing would be resolved would be awsome rather than tedious. Again, these characters regularly pull off superhuman feats, and every time they get into a fight against characters who aren't on their level we were suppposed to be excited. Then there's the idea that Kenichi could one day be more powerful than these characters just by training hard which is patently absurd (one of the characters honest to god raises dead bodies from their grave at the end, and that's still supposed to be (((martial arts))), christ). No fucking wonder the very end was a time skip.

Shit could have been mitigated id the art and the action was better, but it wasn't. The fight choreography was always middling at best (nowhere close to the balls to the wall perfection of Change 123 or the stone cold grit of Holyland), and the art in these action scenes tended to have so many speed lines that there were times that you legit couldn't fucking tell what the fuck was going on. And of course characters were capable of excecuting feats of strength and speed and recovering from injuries that are completely impossible in real life so it stopped matrerring who wom because at that point there's no real difference of spirit to show between the characters, it's just a matter of what the author can come up with.

The girl characters were the only thing this manga had going for it. People will tell you that this manga got cancelled, but the guy who made it was out of ideas for a couple hundrd chapters by that point.

It was nice, then it sucked.

I mostly enjoyed it except for the Miu abduction arc (the final fight was great thought) and the rushed ending.

I hope we'll get some kind of continuation or even just a few side stories now that the authors new manga has ended.

Anime was great, manga was good until the fight against Kanou. Then it waned but sort of kept the quality until Apachai's "death". After that it became meh. When the armed division appeared, it became obvious the author had run out of ideas.

It's interesting how much the artstyle has changed over the years.

It just got really boring after a while. Girls are hot but I can only see the same fanservice shots over and over again for hundres of chapters until I get tired of it it's not like there was much else going on most of the time.

Valkyries orbiting Thor surprised me. Same with Ukita, Freya and Kisara. Not used to supporters getting their own background harems/triangles.

It was a dumb but enjoyable manga I read for the fightan.

It's nice that he impregnated Miu in the end and had a cute daughter. Other than the everything near the end before it got axed was a shitshow. It's like the author had no clue what to do so he just went all out on the tits and ass. Not that I'm complaining, but it got repetitive after a while.

I would have liked to see some more interaction between the Elder and his son. Instead we got to see him going on a date with that yami master.

I can't count how many faps I had to all of the waifus in this series. Even the side characters like Kenichi's mom were amazing.

My favorite mango up until they told the writer to hurry up and end it, it honestly could've gone to the 1000 chapters easily, the skill gap between disciples experts and masters was really well executed and really fucking huge. The ending was garbage but you know it is what it is.

I honestly stopped paying attention to the story after they started trying to focus on characters besides Kenichi though. Hate series that do this unless they do so from the start.

out of all the disciples, I felt like he had the most potential to become a Master. and it would be all self-taught, too.

Glad to see so much love for this series, or at least respect for what it once was. Up through Ragnarok it's some god-tier shonen, and if you wanna read it up to that point and then read the very last chapter, I don't think you'd be missing much.

you gotta read the disciples tournament too, plus the muai thai deathmatch.

but the side characters were the best part. Kenichi was a boring protagonist, so's Miu. All the side girls and guys were more interesting. The problem was when it dropped focus on THEM, to focus on the stupidly-strong masters instead.

Maybe I should re-read it some day, now that I know where to adjust my expectations I could probably just enjoy the fights and tits.
