Is it redpilled to give up on things like electricity and other modern day conveniences or is it just a stupid means of running away from society?

yes

not really, no.

No, electricity is good. It’s things like iJews and 24/7 connectivity that are bad.

It's pretty blissful actually.

Whenever I live in the woods, it completely changes my state of mind from the moment I arrive.

Even small things like, real fire lowering blood pressure. Having the best and most restful sleep. Waking up to unusual birds wandering around the window and singing.

In fact a bird flew in my window and was sitting on my finger in my livingroom.

Disney man.

But lights, vehicles, medicine and things like that are all beneficial. It’s internet and phones that make people miserable. If we could go back to a 1920s-50s level of technology that would be good.

Also there is nothing more satisfying than a days physical labour in the garden.

I don't use western medicine generally and I have never had surgery nor broken a bone.

I do have an electricity supply for lights but no television. I listen to the radio in the evening.

100% redpilled. I can't handle it, but my goals are similar.

I want to live like the Amish, but also generate electricity.

Watermill, nigga

When I want to visit the shops, I walk. It takes an hour.

Just go to Infowars.com and secure your bottle of water filters today.

The ladder. What I mean is, the Amish should be able to use a ladder

Really wish radio plays were still a thing. Now it's just music, and talk radio.

...

>lights
Mean that you're awake more and lose more sleep. Also, less time with family. >vehicles
Made it so everyone lives farther apart and there's less of a sense of local community
>medicine
Actually good. Still, it's important to fortify your immune system through natural means as well

>>

Scotland.

visit /offgrid/ at the 8.

Pretty retarded desu those society's are almost always inbred to oblivion.

t.Wannabe Baby Boomer

That's your decision, not ours to make. Most of the people here will either say yes or no but the truth is you can be redpilled while broke or rich, it makes no difference.

I have no money but I have better views than the richer people who stay down in the town.

They are basically living in my garden.

Radio might be the one thing that I consider keeping around because I'd like to have some sort of warning in the even of extreme weather. A record player could be good too, if it has a crank

>baby boomers
>having any sort of influence in the 20s-50s

Baby boomers love the 60s and 70s

I couldn't live without music, you could even make a crystal radio.

The Complete Guide on How to Build a Crystal Radio—Plus How They Work
steampunk.wonderhowto.com/how-to/complete-guide-build-crystal-radio-plus-they-work-0141117/

Unironically yes. Amish are some of the healthiest people that scientists have found. Unibomber had some true points about technological innovation.

>I don't use western medicine generally and I have never had surgery nor broken a bone.

You don't use western medicine generally because you're young and haven't needed it. Don't try to take credit for the 3-4 billion years of evolution you now, undeservedly, benefit from.

I mean, I can play a few instruments and I do enjoy the sound of nature, the creaking of the house, etc., but after a while you just want something more. I guess the hard part is finding a good, traditional radio station. I doubt I'd be able to luck out on that.

I don't follow a SAD diet, so I wont need it.

70 years young Annette

I think one of the biggest goals for humanity in the next few centuries will be to find a synergy between nature and technology. Right now we're trekking to a star wars sterile future (pun intended). Yet, a lot of people still long for greener surroundings. I think we will need to find a way to use tech intelligently. Automation can remove the more tedious of our interactions with technology. Also you can use biophillia in buildings and even on the exterior to create a more natural urban environment. We will not be stepping back in technology, maybe more like cooling our obsession to more realistic use.

The reason people are sick, is because they put poison into their bodies.

I do use a juicer, so that requires electricity but avoids having to use western medicine.

Remember the father of Western Medicine Hippocrates said "Let thy food be thy medicine"
How far most doctors have removed themselves from the Hippocratic oath, in favour of a medical business model.

Our health is perhaps the biggest red pill because when we are optimally fed the correct nutrients, the entire landscape of life changes.

There is an idea about food being something we fill ourselves with to satiate hungry but the problem is, without the right nutrition, we are never satiated and make poor choices to compensate.

I think a lot of drug addiction is related to this, aside from the dopamine addiction for example smoking produces (and even facebook).

Its red pilled to not be a slave of technology like we all are but most of who don't fall for the brainwashing aspects are pulled in against our will by our ties to society. It makes sense for people to participate in mutually beneficial projects that are within the constraints of the group's priorities to improve technology. The priorities should be pretty much everything they're not right now and we not only need to invert our priorities, we also need to completely eliminate some of the top ones right now like porn and social media. Imagine a sparsely populated nation with localized utilities and small, efficient power sources adapted for the local environment with a weak powered, small federal government that could only act powerfully on a small hand of foundational principles and the ability to organize a national military and adaptive, small, efficient economy with strict protection from foreigners and corruption. There would be no patent infringement penalties and patents would gain admiration for inventors beyond niggerball players today because as the patent is awarded, it's also distributed within the nation to upgrade or add capabilities locally. A territory could open it's own efficient adaptive factories that surpass mass production levels on a small scale. The people's drive for competition would be directed torwards wholesome and productive activities. There would be no usury and corporations would not be legal citizens entities.

This is Singapore

...

people are not sick, they live longer, grow taller and are smarter than every generation before you doof

Start imagining marvellous things...

Solar Trees

I think green city projects are really worth looking into
Remember reading that if every roof in Philadelphia was a green roof, the ambient temperature of the city and surrounding suburbs could potentially decrease by 3 Fahrenheit

"Socrates"
Born c. 470 BC Deme Alopece, Athens
Died 399 BC (aged approx. 71) Athens
Cause of death Sentenced to death by drinking hemlock

t. Manlet

"It is ironic that ancient Greeks lived into their 70s and older, while more than 2,000 years later modern Americans aren't living much longer."

Think that is a coincidence?

Confessions of a Drug Dealer

"There is no such thing as a safe drug - by the time it hits the market, we don't even know 50% of the side effects of that drug"

Definitely it reduces the urban heat island effect. They can double as a garden too for food production. Even the walls can have hanging gardens if you want. There's so much area in the country right on top of roofs that are not used.

I think the same applies inside the building too. Office spaces can be so beige and bland. Some house plants, better air since indoor air is polluted, and better grounding for the building too. People build up ions in their body that don't discharge enough because we wear an insulate rubber shoes when our ancestors were on the ground barefoot. There's many ways to improve health without a pill.

"I started to realise, these patients were literally being tortured by the drugs they were being given"

>The priorities should be pretty much everything they're not right now and we not only need to invert our priorities, we also need to completely eliminate some of the top ones right now like porn and social media.
This is the real jist of the problem, I think. I wish I could set up a community of like-minded individuals to live around like that.

Nah cunt, dropping back to 1906 tech and no further would be preferable
That's because the forest wasn't made by Jews while every modern western structure was made by Jew lapdogs

I am a Jew.

Just imagine: you and a bunch of friendly neighbors, living as your forefathers did, raising your children to be wholesome and clean, without the distractions of the modern world

Nederbro knows what's up, wish you guys were less reliant on modern technology. Would probably fix your shitskin outbreak quite quickly

Highland country is quite cozy

Full library of books, growing your own food, natural exercise, detachment from social media which leads to misery through comparison with false images of happiness.

Living in sync with the seasons. Being able to see the stars.

Yes, unfortunately some of the crofts are allowed to go to ruin because the wealthy owners refuse to sell them or do anything with them.

Wrong, that is what WHITE goals are
Jews and shitskins have no such goals
Jaos kinda do too but they're afraid of trying it

And now you know why the woods ate so nice

>Full library of books
This is something I would love. I'd love to have both a study and a workshop. Maybe even some brewing equipment in the basement to make some alcohol for parties and special occasions. Also, hand-made furniture

Fairy Pools Isle of Skye

You look tiny from up here.

Careful taking the low road son.

Are we posting comfy homes and ideas now? Because I'm in if we are

> cuck shed
lol primo are tards

Yes, that's marvellous!

Homemade wines and beer. Salad straight from the garden, an endless supply of fresh herbs. Living with the seasonal - then preparing pickles, relishes, jams for winter.

I was just working with wood yesterday, sanding old chairs which will be revarnished. It feels good.

Running a proper home, not the convenient route but the deeply satisfying - I have heard it said the problem with the division of labour is that it robs a man of his pride in seeing the completeness of his work.

How beautiful!

Are we ?

Is that a thatched roof?
This is my life goal. Maybe have a cow or two and a few chickens for milk and eggs, an old musket to hunt with, and a butcher somewhere nearby for everything I can't get alone.

Rose garden.

Also honeysuckle is a must, as the sweet scent permeates the air as it nears dusk.

It depends on what you're trying to achieve. If your goal is to get away from modern day convenience and civilization, sure why not?

If however you believe that this is going to solve any of the world's many problems, then you're deluded.

this bread is gay and for homosexual
>le omg guys a french style wine garden
faggots out REEEEEE
>we going to ride robo dragons in the air and be doing space coke off are sex waifu bots metal ass

That's a beautiful goal. A neighbour a mile or two down the road keeps peacocks which wander about the forest road, it's quite magical when they appear while walking.

Also a doves.

I am keen to keep bees eventually.

Personally, I'd love sugar maples as well. Somewhere where all the seasons are vivid. Good, snowy winters, colorful springs and falls, and breezy, warm summers. I've been looking at land in Maine for that very reason

Sure.

>Is that a thatched roof?
Yup

I am a woman and there is nothing more attractive than men who think like this.

Romance and idyllic sentiment, are very manly. I can assure you.

What do they caulk these log houses with ?

>I am a woman
You sure write like one...

>i got that vibe
roastie/trap
tits or fuck off

They can color thatch?

...

Nope.

...

Grow up.

...

tits or op is a fag

Sounds like a man to me, whereas you sound like a toxic little boy deprived of mother's affections.

To be honest, I'm not sure. The caulking is for the logs as a sealant, then depending on the log home some people like to add chinking, which is mainly for decorative purposes over the caulking but it also adds an extra sealant barrier. I like the chinking because it adds a more "old" look.

I love climbers for over walls and fences

no you idiot communist

I think it's redpilled to be off-grid capable and to be competent with the tools or that kind of living. I don't know about going all Grizzly Adams right away, unless you are an Eagle Scout/snake eater.

I have friend that lived in a tent for 4 years while clearing land and building a cabin (that the initial structure was a Home Depot yard barn. He ran spring water and solar panels into the cabin and lived that way for another 7 years. The cabin got wings and lofts added, wife, kids, etc. so he hooked into the grid in case he needed power. He has to pay the monthly minimum, but he gets a check back from TVA every now and then where he sold them power. To my knowledge they still use a privy.

I think that'd be the ultimate way of doing it for the sole reason of "you don't miss what you never had." By the time he moved into that yard barn he felt like he was living in the Taj Mahal.

"Diocletian, the ruthless Roman Emperor, abdicated in 305 AD and moved to a palace at Salonae (now Split) on the Adriatic. Here he spent nine years tending his gardens, telling his successor Maximian that the pursuit of power could not compare to the happiness he gained from growing cabbages."

Growing a surplus of food which can be given to the local community is a very good way to foster a sense of togetherness.

I asked because, although obviously modern sealants are flexible, as they'd need to be due to the expansion & contraction of the wood, in the old days they wouldn't have had those available... just googled it, seems they used clay & straw !

Oh I absolutely love the tudor style.

>They can color thatch?
I don't think so, it's just whatever colour the straw turns, it starts off golden then goes grey with time, they have to replace it every so often.

...

Honestly not going full amish, but definitely a more simple rural life is best.
No more horizon spanning mega-cities, but instead smaller ones more spread out. No more propped up mega farms, bring back family owned and grown goods and farmers markets. (best deal you will ever get on honey and moonshine)
We can sustain private industries without having to be boxed up like cattle in cities full of niggers.

For those of you that are really into stuff like this, I strongly urge you to start browsing /diy/. The fantasy home general is pretty fun and it's one of the only boards where I've learned anything worthwhile. It's important that the society of the future has skills like that

Yes it's redpilled or yes it's just running away
