Claymore

>40+ Million views on a torrent site alone
>Sales on the rise suddenly since 2009
>Let's continue our epic Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Beybladez XD instead of having an anime on par with Berserk (Non shit years of course) redeemed for a season 2!

What the fuck were they thinking?

They never were, user.

God knows torrent views translate directly into sales.

No, but they are a solid reflection of the potential the anime had if it was continued.

>edgy teen murder shit
>berserk
Both are shit and so are you.

>likes claymore better than Berserk and FullMetal Alchemist
kill yourself desu

FMA is garbage.

>FullEdgy Euphorist
Good 1

No you are

after the claymore purge there is basically no meaning to this
also the inability of the author to draw more than 1 facial look kinda kills it

Teresa BEST GIRL!

Its a shame because the manga wasnt bad. The ending was ok in there too.

>1 facial look kinda kills it

Pedestrian-tier taste right here

>having an anime on par with Berserk
berserk is shit though

Claymore is definitely on par with Berserk, full broadside desu. Same fighting styles, same if not more bad ass monsters. I liked it, and I like Berserk too.

When did the OP say he liked it more than Berserk? Read the post moron, and yes FM is shit.

First post best post

the manga turned to shit after the timeskip, if anything they made the right decision

Didn't they fuck u the ending on the anime? how would they fix it for a second season?

That would be Illena.

Same way they saved Black Butler. Ignored the ending and went on normally.

They'd continue following the manga's endgame?

I don't know why but Ophelia gave me a massive boner every fuckin time.

All claymores are a best girls.

I've heard people say Claymore does not hold up well to a second watching. I only watched it one time so I can't say. I liked it a lot, would watch 2nd season for sure. I recall wishing just a little that it was all about Theresa because she was so great.

I think the straight shota vibe is hard for some people to get over.

I'm so happy we were able to protect best girl's smile.

If she was at the battle of Pieta, what would have turned out different? She would have been commander over Mira afterall.

I'm sad Riful's smile wasn't protected

The ending was the ultimate trash tier. It would need a whole new remake, just like they did with FMA.

Oh please, the ending was fine.

It wasn't. And even if it was, you can't have second season with that anime original ending.

Teresa is the best girl.
i guess he was referring anime ending.

looks edgy

I think this music could be best st of all animes.

youtube.com/watch?v=HYbGjAEZxFw

how did it end? only read mango and dont plan on watching it

ended on a cliff hanger that sets up the anime story to be completely different to the manga

Fuark

I liked how quickly the powerscale kept jumping

>hahaha wow he brutally killed some girl isn't that awesome! Killing is awesome especially when weak girls get killed because I'm a bad ass just like the main character and I'd kill weak people straight away ahahahhahaa fucking awesome! Also let's mutilate people who we don't like that's fucking cool and I love being edgy also I'm a pagan! I have proud Nordic and Irish heritage so im not some Jew christian hahahahahaha xD

Best Claymore

Good taste, but Deneve is the best.

>comparing edgelord waifubait garbage with the absolute best battle shounen

>claymore
>anime
Fuck off and die newfag

This wouldve been golden. Burn the studio i want more clare

potential sales? no, not really

Where to start with this series?

Read manga and drop it when it gets bad as its good at the start but it doesnt last forever.
Skip anime, its awful

That's okay, you can look forward to SnK, which has completely stolen Claymore's plot.

At least the manga ended on the highest note possible.

>Skip anime, its awful
shit taste user

>shit taste user
I dont get the joke/reference.

Best girl didn't make it to anime.

>hey that looks kinda cool
>"reads short summary"
>it's a fucking Witcher ripoff
Why nips steal all their ideas from western writers?

Theres no sexual tension between Ciri and Geralt unlike with Clare & Raki.

nice bait but Claymore has been around for much longer

>implying both aren't shit

The shit falls apart fast in the manga, so it's not a big loss. The anime wasn't even well done to begin with.

I just watched the anime last week and enjoyed it. I could tell the ending was hamfisted tho. Felt like raki was supposed to be gone for a much longer time and grow up more before meeting Clare again so they could properly be in love.

>>>nu/pol/

>kids these days think it's cool to hate FMA
Sup Forums is dead

It's always been this way other than when they aired.

I finally watched it through for the first time two weeks ago and I feel like it had some serious weaknesses. The fact Ed and Al were never forced into having to kill at least one person bothered me. It would have added some nice contrast to their almost childish notions of attempting to always save everyone.

I saw a 2004 screenshot calling it something along the lines of shounenshit

>that one dumbass that always whined incessantly about FMA not being as popular as and not canon to the Final Fantasy universe
For the record I berated by brother for being an FMAfag back in 2004; upon re-watching it in 2014 I enjoyed the designs but couldn't bring myself to care about Ed

They kill several Homonculus from what I remember. As far as those that needed killing, there weren't a whole lot of human enemies for that to happen with. The closest was when Ed faces the human chimeras in the north, but I felt it was explained pretty decent why he didn't do them in. Him being a stupid idealist was a big part of his character, so much so that he was willing to die for it and almost did.

You do realize that they ran out of source material by the end right? The manga wasn't finished.

I think the issue for me is that the homunculi just became stand-ins for bad humans. They technically had no human soul (I think), and all except for Greed were pretty inhuman in much of their presentation too.

I found it hard to believe that all humans in the plot would just be good and never get in Ed and Al's way to the point where they needed to die at their hands. Given the relatively unbelievable nature of their journey anyway. It's not that I wanted super dark shit, but it got too feel good with their idealistic clinginess at times.

>the ending was fine
>not superb

The only issue is they didn't do enough of a timeskip to let Raki grow up more.

Claymores ending was shit and extremely unsatisfying.

Kimbley kinda had that role, but then he faded into irrelevance.

Has the author done anything else since the manga ended?

Considering they were the embodiments of the sin they were named after, I think it's pretty natural that they were basically just bad humans. And some weren't even really evil, like Sloth, but we're chained to Homonculus's will by threat of annihilation.

I see what you're saying with the humans in the plot being "good", but I felt it made sense considering the circumstances. ALL of them, aside from the handful of duped higher echelon military officers who thought they'd be saved, were going to be consumed and die. It wasn't so much good, it was mutual self interest in fighting against death. And the people from Xing had a stake in the battle despite needing to win influence in their home nation because they needed something of worth to bring back home. I guess I feel that your complaints here were all explained well in universe.

Nips can't finish their stories for shit.

I wouldn't say that FMA is worth hating, but it's not better than Claymore, that's for sure. It is good in it's own but Claymore is just better.

Didn't the author hint at a much wider scope to the story, but then basically just ended it before ever actually exploring it?

>Claymore
It was an abhorrently mediocre manga with an unnecessarily long story and plot line so thin it virtually doesnt exist with a rather poor adaptation.

It's just a run of the mill show that barely pays for itself and gets forgotten.

It's amazing how bad they are at finishing a story. I think I can count the number of anime and manga with a not shit ending on both my hands, it's that bad.

Did we read the same Claymore?

Good art tho

Should I watch this show if cute girls getting beheaded is my fetish?

I know, I just felt that there should have been more disbelief thrown Ed and Al's way with people they had to push through. At least one person should have been both strong and thick headed enough to have been a casualty at their along the way, and shook both of them to the core.

These complaints are minor by the way, I enjoyed FMA thoroughly.

yes

I forget if the anime covered Clare's past, but if it did, yeah.

Otherwise read the manga.

SUPERB!

This entire series is about pretty girls losing their limbs and getting penetrated by sharp tentacles.

FMA is shit tier normalfag garbage

One of the major themes of the show are the adults trying to keep that shit away from them. It's one of the reasons the show is good is because it takes it's characters and their ambitions/ideals seriously.

Berserk is garbage (now)

They also straight up have Clair fight Priscilla who takes on some bizarre different form then just let her walk away.
And they don't make it look like they all die at Pieta. And I think Raki actually meets up and stays with Clair after that anime-only fight.
It's completely unsalvageable to the manga's story.

Claymore, like many others, is the type of series that'd need a FMA Brotherhood treatment to actually work.
And just like those other series, it ain't getting it sadly. I would fucking LOVE to see the final arc of Claymore animated, but the market for it is simply gone.
A part of Brotherhood's success and logic that people don't account for usually was that FMA was still being written when Brotherhood started. The point was that the manga ended just a tiny bit before Brotherhood did.
Claymore, Soul Eater, Deadman Wonderland, and others all ended long ago and there's not enough of a marketable reason to give them a full anime.

Its all downhill from there tho.

Claymore had interesting ideas and a good start but quickly went to complete shit. FMA is consistently good all the way through.

Why is this so praised, its fucking trash

It's so trashy it's actually good
Kinda like Berserk

You mean Brotherhood?

The Witcher books have been around since 1994, Claymore started in 2001.

Absolutely no one gave a shit about the Witcher books until the vidya series.

Apparently one japanese guy did

It must be nice to think that.

To this day, this scene makes my dick diamonds
