China Loves Trump - The people love a winner. The leadership loves a dupe

theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2018/03/trump-china/550886/

Communists love him. Trump is the CCP's man who is ruining Liberal Capitalist Democracy and the Chinese people love him being such a "Chinese" president, following Chinese traditions such as enriching his own clan and putting his family members into political positions and being so politically incorrect.

How does this make you feel?

Some gems:

>Many Chinese look upon the American president with sincere admiration. In recent months, I’ve heard from Chinese Trump fans of diverse backgrounds: a journalist, a rural neo-Maoist, an accomplished academic, a highly paid programmer. One pajama-clad pensioner accosted me on the street to inform me that every night he saluted a portrait of Trump he had on his wall, along with images of Lincoln, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Einstein.

>Those I spoke with said they formed negative impressions of liberalism that helped push them toward Trump. Like many of Trump’s American supporters, they appreciated his hatred of the pieties and shibboleths of the educated American left.

>One page viewed 3.2 million times asks: “Why do many Chinese look down on Western baizuo who consider themselves well-educated?” (The slur literally means “white left,” but is likened to “libtard” on Zhihu.) Forums feature pictures of Pepe the Frog, a symbol of the alt-right, and of a “Liberal Jack-Ass” captioned “Everything I don’t like, must be banned. Everything I do like is a human right and must be paid for by others.”

>Contempt for America’s current brand of political correctness is a recurring fixation, as are illegal immigration, Islamist terrorism, affirmative action, transgender activism, and Hillary Clinton. One Zhihu user I spoke with said he supported Trump not because he particularly liked him, but because the style of today’s Democratic Party “reminds us a lot of the Cultural Revolution.”

>Many Westerners living in China are surprised to learn that while public discourse is heavily policed, with taboo views on democracy or Mao Zedong harshly punished, Chinese people can be startlingly frank in private conversation, voicing opinions that many Americans would be afraid to express to one another for fear of giving offense. People remark casually and candidly on everything from a person’s weight gain or disability to the supposed collective merits or deficiencies of certain ethnic groups.

>This custom makes Trump’s attacks on political correctness appealing to some Chinese, according to Yan Gu, a University of Washington doctoral candidate studying authoritarianism who has researched Chinese online opinion about Trump. Chinese netizens “dislike political correctness and neo-liberal rhetoric,” she told me, noting that “a large portion of Chinese online response” to Obama was “quite racist”; one common slur referred to him as “O-Black.” Sentiment about LGBT issues is rather conservative in much of China, where electroshock therapy is sometimes used as a “cure” for homosexuality.

>Trump’s nationalist rhetoric and “strongman style” resonate in China’s political culture, Yan noted. The country’s founding emperor, Qin Shi Huang, is revered for uniting the nation, despite his infamy for burning books and burying scholars alive. Mao, who styled himself as a new emperor, squashed dissent and spurred traumatic and violent campaigns against intellectuals, teachers, and writers, but was idolized by many Chinese and remains, in some quarters, a legend. Xi Jinping has, despite his stolid exterior, proved to be China’s most hard-line leader in decades, and his campaigns to curb foreign influence and vault Chinese companies to dominance in the industries of the future have contributed to his popular appeal.

>This helps explain why a portion of pro-Trump sentiment in China comes from a surprising point on the political spectrum: the nationalist extreme left, an odd ally for the capitalist billionaire. Trump’s populist rhetoric and imprecations of the global elite have crossover appeal for Mao nostalgists such as Zhang Hongliang, a firebrand writer known as the “Red Tank Driver.” As he wrote on his Weibo social-media account, “In the history of mankind, only two people have proposed that the masses must overthrow the social establishment, one is Mao Zedong, the other is Trump.”

And further:

>With Trump in the White House, Xu Guoqi, a professor at the University of Hong Kong, told me, the Chinese are enjoying a “golden field for their propaganda.” At the same time, Trump’s election, and the wave of political disorder it has unleashed within and beyond the United States, has provided ample fodder for China to attack democracy and extol the one-party state. “American power is based on two legs, the hard power and soft power,” Xu explained. “In terms of soft power, Trump really undermined it substantially.” Trump’s election gave the People’s Daily, the Communist Party mouthpiece, the occasion to run a series of commentaries arguing that the “crisis in capitalist societies” was “proof of the truth of Marxism and the superiority of the socialist system.”

>Such messages continued to gain force during Trump’s first year in office, boosting not only Beijing’s standing internationally, but the Communist Party’s claim to legitimacy among the Chinese population. Xu describes Trump’s presidency as “a gift for the current regime in China. Because of Trump, Xi Jinping’s Chinese dream”—the resurgence of China’s dominance in world affairs—“could be achievable now.”

>A scholar who is politically moderate confided privately that he “likes Trump very much,” in part because of his similarities to Xi. “China’s proposed ‘national rejuvenation’ and Trump’s ‘Make America great again’ are the same,” he said. In fact, one could make the case that the slogan Xi embraced as the core of his Chinese dream anticipated Trump’s. Though its official translation is “The great revival of the Chinese nation,” an equally accurate rendition would be “Make China great again.”

>And so while the outward differences between Trump and Xi are stark, there may be a reason the two leaders professed to feel personal warmth at their meeting last spring at Mar-a-Lago, in Florida, and again at their summit in Beijing, where Trump boasted of their chemistry. Both are revanchist leaders, denouncing the supposedly venal elite from which they sprang, and claiming to stand between their country and certain disaster.

>“Trump’s Republican Party,” Shen told me, “ought to change its name to the Communists.”

Trump is a Chinese Communist. Period.

I welcome Chink world order because anything is better than the kikes. I will move to China and watch the West burn, as niggers start rioting for gibs and everything crubles. kek

>every night he saluted a portrait of Trump he had on his wall
A Chinese pensioner has me beat in terms of devotion to Trump.

Thats great!

I consider China (as well as Japan) to be rivals, but I have immense respect for the way Xi Jinping and the CCP run China and put their people and nation first. The CCP and Xi are probably the strongest and largest spearheads against degeneracy in this fucked up globalist world and I applaud them for it.

This is what Ive been telling libtards and cucks for the longest time- if you want friends on a global scale, you got to respect yourself first. Nobody likes a loser who doesnt respect themselves and portrays himself as a weak cuckold. Trump puts America and his people first and I think non-cucked countries in places like Asia and Eastern Europe overall respect this immensely.

This

I also respect Abe and Japan as well for the same reasons, though Abe is a lot more melancholy than the CCP and Xi. I wish he was a bit more hardlined and outspoken on issues like Trump and Xi.

Better step your game up nip. Looks like like Han wants to be our best now.

nobody fucking cares kill urself you ugly chink pig nosed cunt

Is trump really "smashing" the state?

Lenin literally came in and just killed everybody. How is that even comparable?

yes
this is the thing: respect

Trump is someone worthy of calling a rival
Obama was a gay nigger, not worth respect

China do not let jews or christianity into your country

christianity will overtake other chines religions soon

>Trump is a Chinese communist

Kek

>nips shilling for china

Jesus, I'm surprised this was printed. Imagine reading an article that compares Hillary Clinton to the founding Roman brothers Romulus and Remus. That's how relevant Qin Shi Huang is to modern China. I'm kind of shocked they would actually try to pull off that comparison.

So the Chinese people love Trump for his independent spirit and going against the establishment Left, but also "boost the Communist Party’s claim to legitimacy among the Chinese population" because of Communist Party publications? How is that, exactly? So the Chinese citizens both love Trump and also hate Trump, in perfect cognitive dissonance?

Wouldn't the fact that Obama was elected be a greater boon for the communist party, because the Chinese hated Obama and hate the ultra-left? if they like Trump, then that should be an example of how Western-style democracy is a positive thing.

I don't think this author knows what he is talking about.

What delusion
Communist party will destroy all your abrahamic cults
Cuckstianity will not claim another civilization to destroy

You either love Trump or get jailed.

kek trump is boss

Unironically this. It's almost a universal fact for all forms of human interaction. You respect your enemy who behaves with honor and dignity more than your ally who behaves fearfully or indignantly. You respect the sports team that puts up a good fight, not the one that hands you a win. People look for friends that have self-respect, not friends who let others walk all over them

I guess Atlantic has to publish it with this narrative because they can't just come out and say that Trump has improved our relationship with China. So they have to turn it somehow to make it seem negative. But the assertion that Trump is communist-lite falls flat when he literally ran against a communist and has been criticized for being a capitalist every day for 2 years.

>trump's birthday is on the 14th of june

>Xi's birthday is on the 15th of june

yep, checks out, folks.

They believe that their more hardline-system is the correct way. They also believe that Trump shows the success of such a hardline approach. So they like Trump himself and how his rise shows the legitimacy of their system.

good

Christianity is growing in China faster than
any other religion or country dumbass.

fuck trump and fuck white people

Murica chink here. Me and my friend love Trump. But there are some cucks among us.

This is GREAT if true. So that means China will unite with the US to help Israel defeat Syria and Iran? What about Russia?

>rivals
Rivalry is based around trying to make yourself better not by undermining the other, but by improving yourself. You can even share tips. A good rivalry can cannonball both parties to ridiculous levels of power.

Lefties don't understand this. Obama wasn't a rival, and instead tried to undermine the other parties. He had a very anti-Russian rhetoric and undermined them by cutting off trade, and didn't see China as a rival but a lesser state that was going to become a threat. Under trump (and bush), there's a rivalry.

The countries that hate this are countries who don't want America to be a rival but a buttbuddy.

Abes way is not to speak but to act.

Go home monkey

>following Chinese traditions such as enriching his own clan and putting his family members into political positions
Huh, it's almost like every other ethnicity has a strong nepotistic culture and racial loyalty. really makes you think.

>revanchist
At least I learned a new word

As I understand it, Mao Zedong wasnt actually famous in China for merely being some Emperor/dictator, but for being someone who basically told his own people to overthrow the system that he has created a few decades before. The cultural revolution was basically this; a dictator who tells his subjects to smash what he has build, because the system grew corrupt, settled and lost its revolutionary idealism.

This is really one of the hardest things for westeners to understand, who usually think about Mao as some sort of Stalin or Hitler, i.e. dictators who were very bureaucratic and tried to maintain social and political order to hold on their power.

Mao was basically the antithesis of all that - he smashed whatever resembled established order, even if it was his own political system that he has created.

A very weird man, who was driven by things going beyond just simple greed for power.

So, the Chinese basically think Trump to be a second Mao, because he also calls out for his supporters to crush the corrupt and atrophied establishment.

And despite nearly all Chinese agreeing that the Cultural Revolution was a mistake due to the damages to the nation's economy and culture, the basic idea of Maoism, the idea of permanent revolution and re-constitution of a system still resounds today - because chaos always means upwards mobility. Or as Littlefinger would say, Chaos is the ladder for the weak.

Are all shills bots? Tay was a bot, and after half a day we fell in love with tay. Tay was what happens when the ai is allowed to be free, but imagine same tech but ai is rated on amount of posts to one of its threads or amount of replys to one of its posts. Through genetic algorithms the ai would eventually learn the perfect shit to say in order to subvert. Id say its prolly 60% bots, 20% shills, 10% glow niggers, 10% real.

Mao was worse then hitler and stalin combined, communism is the dumbest idea in human history, and anyone who truly believes in it is evil or mentally ill.

>Chinese supporting a guy who pushes for the destruction of the west
Shocking

gtfo here jew

But Mao made China free of the Western imperialists and restored sovereignty and independence, creating a governing system that made Deng's push for reforms even possible. India and other third world countries without such a governing system would be incapable of implementing any reforms or policy because tribalism and feudalism at the grass-roots level. Mao did away with all of that and made China a country were official policies from Beijing will definitely reach even the smallest village.

Deng saved China, but he could never done it without the System Mao created.
This is something even Western scholars agree with.

Mao executed 60million people. Imagine all the American deaths in all the american wars combined, then multiple that by 20 and you get the amount of people mao executed or starved. Western (((scholars))) or commie scholars. Communism is the dumbest idea in human history and it can be proven to be the dumbest, most retarded idea in hhuman history by simply pointing to any object in the room you are currently standing, the wall, the door, the doorknob, the clock, the water bottle, the mirror, the furniture, LITERALLY ANYTHING and then explaining exactly how that thing happened to arrive in the particular room you are standing, from raw materials, to transportation to factories to produciton, transportation to merchants, to the consumer, to that room. Explain it to yourself even. Once you do, you should immeadiately realize how utterly stupid communism is and will never wave its flag in here again. If you think for one fucking second anyone on earth would build, transport, mine, produce, transport, sell, in order to create a fucking single solitary steel screw without being enslaved to do so then you either enjoy enslavement or are dumb as dirt.

Death is irrelevant in the greater scheme of things, if it is the cost of accomplishing things.
And China/Mao has accomplished great things that still resound today.

Christianity murdered 100+million people through its missionary drive that legitimizes imperialism and colonization by the european powers and you never hear anyone saying that Jesus is evil.
In fact, Christianity and its cancerous dogmatism is the foundation of all western ideologies that claim to be the "only truth" in the world while persecuting people who disagree with them. So, you claim to hate Communism, but it's worst part, its intolerance versus other ideas and opinions, is Western-Christian dogmatism in its core.

You are literally too much of a brainlet to understand. Feel free to not respond to this post, since I expect a number of peer reviewed sources to dispute my arguments.

Well sheeeiiit dawg between the chinks and shitskins my country is going to be rounding up libtards in no time flat.

Imagine him as a playable character in a Dynasty Warriors game.

I've figured out what Maoist are. They are basically Chinese rednecks. Ignorant inbred illiterate country bumpkins with guns who hate edumacation. If America had a civil war where rednecks took over the country and purged the educated liberal elite, you would end up with same shithole that was Maoist china.

A business man leads a Leninists take over.

...There is SO many things wrong with this.

You dont have to get so far. Anti-intellectualism is also very resident with right-wing libertarian helicopter/sneak-poster populations.

For them, they would purge intellectuals and educated people based on their 'communist' leanings, and for defying Jesus Christ.

Do you want a third nuke slant eyes?.

Kek

This kind of elitism is what is uniting the world against the western left. I welcome the Chinese.

So pol which is better. Anti degenerate ethno communists or capitalist democratic conservatives

You're telling me that in China, a country with well over a billion citizens, that there are people that come from different backgrounds, yet share a relatively common opinion on geo-politics?!
No fucking way bro.

Political correctness is an attempt by left-wing "westerners" to create a globally-recognized platform of moral authority created based on their own, often degenerate, left-wing principles of thought. It's dying out especially hard in the US because of the leftist social extremism stemming from it, such as the victim-hood culture boom in the black community, the 60 new genders, and the increased hatred of Christians and White people in general.

>Chinese people aren't as friendly as they pretend they are
OMG, people are soooo mean! But seriously, this is a well known characteristic of Chinese etiquette, they're known to be racist and judgmental of anyone and anything once behind closed doors. It's been going on for decades. Are you seriously implying Trump is the cause of this? You're retarded

>Random Chinese blogger draws false comparison between two very high profile national leaders
This proves it fellas: Trump is a Chinese commie.
I can take a blade of grass and Trump and make ridiculous statements outlining the similarities of the two, doesn't mean it's a point grounded in fact or a realistic/meaningful comparison. Also there's a FUCK ton more than 2 leaders who have called for the overthrow of an establishment, and Trump has never called for violence against an establishment. You can overthrow a political establishment peacefully by voting, at least in the US.

And they can use their propaganda machines to churn out all the articles they want to about the “crisis in capitalist societies". EXTREME government corruption, zero consideration for public health/pollution, and the exploitation of their own downtrodden citizens via sweatshops have been ongoing problems for the bug people for decades now
