Overlord

Why is Ainz going to fake his death? Wouldn't that make the Sorcerer Kingdom look weak to the other nations and would go against their plan of world domination? I don't get it.

He will come back like jesus

Why has he never once even tried to log out and get back into the real world?

He tried, can't access the options or UI

Either his logout/exit button isn't working anymore or he doesn't wanna go back to the 3D world.

Maybe stop making these threads and just wait it out might be better than ones again circlejerk about nothing.

Read the Light Novel fucktard.

Even if he could why would he want to?

I find his lack of concern regarding this issue extremely immersion breaking.

>"Oh, I can't log out of this VR game? Whelp, looks like this is my life now, nothing to worry about. I'm sure my body won't starve, I've only been in here for several months. Yep, nothing wrong here."

Like, if the author doesn't want to deal with the usual Isekai tropes, why make it an Isekai in the first place?

to get his dick back, he's literally a skellington

In the beginning, it wasn't stated specifically that he doesn't have any real ties to the other world, but it does mention that other than working, he really only played the game. That's part of why he's so mad that all the guildmates quit.

>immersion breaking

He notes at a couple points that he's thinking less like a human and it seems that his race is affecting his personality/morals so maybe he can't really remember the boring stuff like the other world (minus playing the game and his guildmates etc.) due to lack of strong emotional attachment?

They address this. He slowly stops thinking and feeling like a human.

Well he can't have strong emotions last like depression or longing or regret that would motivate finding an exit.

I'd give up my dick for immortality, power and wonders beyond my wildest dreams, with a large number of ultra loyal servants, whom are like family.
Sounds like a good trade to me, not like I was gonna use it on anything than my hands anyway.

Reminder

One can only hope to understand the deep meaning behind Ainz-sama actions.

I can't believe there are people who really think humans wont win in the end.

>I've only been in here for several months
Dehydration kills much faster.

Is vol12 where Ainz crumbles pressure and everything goes wrong because he has no idea what is happening?

>Ainz crumbles pressure
He can't.

But skeletons can't die.

Fuck Ainz.

Is our princess going to be okay?

Just watched the anime, can anyone say why it did not get more seasons.

It's ok Climb will protect her.

Because it will be filled with lizards.

But it did

You mean the thing that was stated crystal clear in vol 1 or first episode in the anime?

"Can i go back? Even if i can should i? My life wasnt worth much, i had no friends, family everything i did was only working sleeping and playing yggdrasil."

Beside that it is a really shitty world he was living in.

At the end he didnt bother with it and concentrated on the world around him that got REAL. Thats another thing he established rather fast.

If by ok you mean to ask if she's going to turn undead to serve Ainz, then sure, she is going to be okay.

Season 2 is announced, date not confirmed yet probably next year.

>waah why can't I read the same series again and again with different name tags

The main character doesn't care. He hated his life.

Lakyus will save her

You can make one NPC and they will come to life in a similar way to the Overlord LN. What traits do you give them and what kind of NPC are they?

Whats wrong with lizards?
Oh, Cool.
Anime came out in 2012 and I know it has lots of material, found it odd that it seemed to flop or something and go 5 years without any now stuff.

The heck are you talking about? Anime came out in 2015 right before OPman.

really really good at making money, and loyal to a fault

>Anime came out in 2012
You gave me a scare there for a second, user

Right sorry, my bad. Misread the wiki.

You think this is a clever post that inspires discussion, but there's really only one correct answer.

Basically just making something as overpowered as you can possibly imagine and then add whatever waifu qualities that suit your personal tastes.

Yes, I wanted a waifu discussion. That was the entire point of the post.

But they will be a sorry excuse of a being doomed to live with max Level 100 restriction and 5/10/15 max Levels in class restriction.

If the story is indication then these "limitations" are God mode.

Oh, okay.

If we're strictly talking fantasy/RPG here then here's a few personal favorites:

Proud warrior type female knight with a toned, muscular body and long blonde hair that she keeps bunned/braided for practical reasons who normaly puts on a serious/stoic attitude, but is secretly a masochist/pervert.

Overly affectionate loli dog girl (just ears & tail) slave/maid of any kind.

Freckled tomboy thief girl with short, fluffy auburn hair and pettanko body type that she's really insecure about.

Not for other Yggdrasil creatures. Presumably Yggdrasil bosses should be an exception to this. Anything Max Level 100 is asking to get killed or enslaved by a paranoid skeleton. Same with anything stronger, but at least then my now-living creation will have a chance.

If we use the D&D metric adjusted for the difference in Overlord than anything above level 100 would be literal Gods.

I'm sure most, if not all Ygg creatures cap out at lvl100, but are stronger because of their monster classes/races, naturally higher stats and special abilities.

How would YGG World Bosses be classified by D&D standards? And the likes of Rubedo for example...?

Firekeeper, she can convert the souls of the dead to item shop (Gachapon?) cash.

I guess that is a misunderstanding between Ainz and Demi. Because there is no benefits in that plan.

He literally said he's doing it to draw out everyone working against him.

The reason Rubedo is so strong compared to the other guardians (despite only having the same number of levels) is she is min/maxed strictly for combat. The others have some mix of other non-combat utility.

Really? What volume/chapter?

Probably the same way I described in the post you replied to:
>cap out at lvl100, but are stronger because of their monster classes/races, naturally higher stats and special abilities

Keep in mind though, that in D&D you rarely ever reach "maximum" level or even "epic" levels, which in Overlord terms would be about 70+ or so.

I doubt that's the reason. Shalltear is also min/maxed. It was specifically mentioned. How can min-maxing make such a huge difference? Ainz filled the gap between himself and Shalltear through experience/knowledge and preparation but there's no way to do that against Rubedo. Shalltear, the strongest floor guardian, is considered a weakling compared to Rubedo.

Shalltear wasn't designed for 1v1. She was designed for group attrition.

We don't even know her Levels though. She could be an exception for all we know.

>there's no way to do that against Rubedo
That remains to be seen. I doubt Ainz would simply mobilize another guardian, "just because," without having a way to overcome them, especially after what happened to Shalltear. It's likely that her design was specifically for her floor in some way or in a combination attack with Victim.

This is just an empty hypothetical. There is no indication she has more than 100 levels. Occam's Razor would indicate that the, "Settings Maniac," Tabula would have min/maxed Rubedo as a guardian of the 8th floor, a floor of intense combat, rather than, "Well, it's something that was already stated several times over to not be possible."

I want a super genki catgirl lancer to go adventuring with me.

>Lupusappointment says that Ainz at the end of the last volume which is used to surprise the readers
>He literally said
Read the book.

Does she have the catphrase (get it), "MeOUCH!!!" when she rekts someone? :^)

>How can min-maxing make such a huge difference?
Clearly you've never played with min/maxers. They make that shit an artform.

>"Climb now we can be together FOREVER!"

She is confirmed to be stronger than Ainz, Ubert and Touch Me, the last of whom even has an OP class with OP gear, not accessible to normal players.

actually not quite right, she is made for 1vs1 by forcing the enemy to not use summons ect.

She guards 3 floors with alot of traps for seperation of invaders. While she picks them up one by one.

Quote from vol 11:
>If that’s the case, then it’ll have to be — Aura and Shalltear.
Aura — and the monsters she commanded— could be considered an ideal choice for
the role of a tank. In the worst-case scenario, he could sacrifice her beasts and escape
with Aura. And then there was Shalltear, the best one-on-one fighter. She could serve
as a trump card against a strong foe. In addition, there was another reason why he
wanted to use Shalltear.

>Turns out Princess Renner wasn't telling the whole story when she said she wanted Climb to look at her like a puppy.
She's into taxidermy.

Showing weakness is how you get your enemies to reveal themselves.

Appear weak when you are strong, appear strong when you are weak.
-Ainz Ooal Gooalasl

Yeah? So is Shalltear. So are several Guardians. Not to mention Ainz built to roleplay more than fight.

But none of this overrides the fact that no guardian has ever exceeded the level 100 cap and there is no indication at all any of them have.

The only real fact here is there is zero useful information on Rubedo. It makes no sense to make assumption that she somehow breaks the system.

It's how Guren is stronger than half the level 100 NPCs despite only being level 90.

Someone who is far smarter and more knowledgeable than me would be good for starters. Because i am an idiot who is definitely going to fuck up somehow if left on my own.

And when you can add a shy monoeye girl, because i am also shy.

If Shalltear is confirmed best at 1v1 then what's the hype about Rubedo? (Also, your description is literally the definition of attrition.)

Ainz just pays2win again

Point noted. I actually have never played MMORPGs that much to begin with. So maybe I'm not able to comprehend properly the art of minmaxing? But I always thought that top players had cash items along with minmaxed characters...?

Top players usually just means, "Did it all (the quests)/got the highest level." Unless we're talking leader boards. Can't land those anymore without min/maxing your ass off.

maybe to crush the seed of hope?
People will be willing to try killing the evil sorcerer king when you can keep saying "well the last guys who tried were scrubs, we got this though for sure".
The mood changes a bit when the conversation goes "we thought he was dead, we were damn certain he was dead and then he turned right back up and nuked a city mid-celebration. Fuck if I wanna be in the next city that celebrates his 'death' "

Nah.

Q3. Who's the strongest? (Nazarick version):

1st - 8th floor inhabitants (Nazarick's greatest war potential, details unknown)
2nd - Rubedo (Strongest unit)
3rd - Touch Me (Strongest warrior class)
4th - Ulbert Alain Odle (Strongest magic class)
5th - Ainz Ooal Gown (Momonga) (Fully equipped)
6th - High Tier Floor Guardian (Shalltear etc)
7th - Sebas Tian (In dragon form)
8th - Guren (Only when fighting on the 7th floor) [TN: giant abyssal slime]
9th - Low Tier Floor Guardian (Aura etc)
10th - Others (Hamsuke etc)

>Why is Ainz going to fake his death?
It might not even be his idea.
>Or Lupu was just being a fucking bitch.

so guys what if ainz isn't really ainz but an npc (in the next game in the series). what if the developer brain scanned top players and used that data to create strong ai for boss characters in the new game and ainz is based off the nip who previously played as ainz in the first game (mc)

And what would that change about the story, Nazarick and NW?

And? What predictions can you make? Does your theory change anything?

The answer is "Everything stays exactly the same if this is true"
ergo it's bullshit

When did Overlord turn into a set of moral backfire short story's and tragedy porn?

Rubedo is probalby the the strongest overall.

Did i misunderstood you? You stated Shalltear was not good in 1vs1 but against group.
I stated she forces enemys to a 1vs1 because everyone else is just fodder for herself and lance.
That she fights a attrition war i didnt denied.

Since it was... written that way?

>How can min-maxing make such a huge difference?
I remember there's an old D&D meme about a character that had literally infinite base stats by abusing some kind of rules loophole.

Is that the cancer mage meme build?

Just because she's good at 1v1 doesn't mean she's optimized for it. In fact, it's a point she brings up during her fight with Ainz. She states he can't bring up any monsters so she can lifesteal from them.

If that isn't an overriding indicator she's better with group attrition than 1v1 I don't know what is. Frankly though, a conversation like this has a lot of overlap. To be good in groups you usually have to be good in 1v1s and vice-versa. But my argument still holds she's better in an attrition war than 1v1. After all, she's kitted to surprise attack when it's best for her.

I'm not sure Shalltear could get away with that on level 8, when it's a straight up slugfest against people who can out DPS her heal or counter it. People like Ainz could make it to level 8 but I'm not sure Shalltear could, simply because he knows how to undo her build and, ironically, kill her 1v1.

Omnificer or Pun-pun.

I personally prefer the Beholder Mage or the Rainbow Warsnake. Preferably both.

Yggdrasil 2 starts after 10000 years of Ainz's rule

It was Pun-Pun.

>Feign weakness through suicide
>random kingdom attacks
>"defend" yourself and roflstomp them
>any reparations or conquest is seen as reasonable

That's why

What if Ainz was never really a player but a spontaneously self-aware AI that just thought he was one, so he couldn't leave the game if he wanted, or knew, to?

Shalltear is the type of fighter that takes advantages of weaknesses in the enemy to kill them. Hence she's more of a hunter.

I would think, by the way she's described, that Rubedo is the type of fighter that overcomes the strengths of her enemy with overwhelming power. She's more of a true combatant.

This is the tactical difference you'd expect of a guardian on levels 1 through 3 and a guardian on level 8, since the quality of their enemies would be different.

That's how I see it, anyway.

also makes everyone second guess the idea of challenging Nazarick in what appears to be a moment of weakness from that point onwards.

Because he came from a cyberpunk dystopia where he needed to wear a gas mask to go to work. Also he just plain doesnt want to.

What the fuck is her problem? Why is she so thirsty and annoying?

How true is this statement? Was the "real world" every really described in the LN?

I see Shalltear in a inverted way. She is build for 1vs1 and in order to make full use of it she got the lance that heals proportional to damage dealt.
It also has the effect that she cant be overwhelmed with weak enemies because of her lance. So forcing her enemies to fight on her ideal terms...1vs1.
Someone build against groups is actually Mare, alot of powerfull AoE casts ect.

That would be true if Shalltear wasn't the strongest among the Floor Guardians excluding Gargantua. Floor 8 Guardian is Victim.

Rubedo is OP, and it's not because of min-maxing.

Yeah it was either a flashback or a side story or something. Shits bad, they dont even seem to have trees anymore.

Ainz, or rather the person he was before he isekai'ed into the "fantasy world that happens to be exactly like the videogame I was playing 5 minutes ago", re-wrote her NPC description into being insanely in love with him. So the version in the new world is.

>Rubedo is OP, and it's not because of min-maxing.
Except how do you know this? There's nothing at all indicating her build is "rule breaking."

Yeah. This conversation has a lot of overlap. I suppose it'll just come down to which perspective you want to have.
