Why is it that I always hear stories of former liberals who got "redpilled" and became conservatives/libertarians/alt-right, but I never have ever heard a story of an alt-right type becoming a liberal/progressive? Why is this pathway such a one-way street?
I don't want to think that we are infallible, but sometimes it seems that way.
You get smarter and wiser as you get older so it's logical to be a liberal when you're a kid and a conservative when you're older. Just look at all the hippies from the 60's, now most of them are at the very least some sort of libertarian
Blake Peterson
Because the focus is on reality. Redpilling is a recognition of reality. The regressive left is only possible if you deny reality. Making the transition from reality to fantasy would require a psychotic break or drugs or something. t. former Democrat / lefty

Shit, how did it feel to go from being a dem to this side of things? Was it painful?
Jordan Morgan
Actually, yes. Having your world view torn from you means you must construct a new one. This is a very unpleasant experience. Suddenly everything is up for grabs. All facts may or may not be relevant. You have to question and research everything just to be sure you're not fooling yourself into believing more bullshit. It's almost paranoia inducing. My journey started back in 2007 or so. Full swing was in 2009. I've had a couple of bumps here and there. This last year pretty much blew me away - which I was not at all expecting. The last time I had my world view rocked it was just government complicity in 9/11. Race realism and the decline of western civilization makes 9/11 seem quaint. I was trained to think of the races as being equal. Facing the inequality was a tall order. I'm an above average I.Q. white male, so this hit close to home because according to the dogma I'd grown up with I was bad for even acknowledging my own person. I've decided that being above average means there's a duty, on my part, to use it for something good. It's not like you're just "good" for being born with certain traits. Well, that's how I stay sane. The point is I've had to go through very serious assessments of what I think about the world and how I interact with it. And, yes, it was most certainly unpleasant. I'm the better for it, though. The world is more coherent. I don't have to make excuses for observations that don't fit dogma. All prattling aside the easiest analogy is a rebirth. Birth is painful and you'd think the poor mother was dying. Through the pain, the blood and the screaming new life comes about. The experience is always worth it. I wouldn't trade my redpilling for anything.

I considered myself a blue collar democrat in the 1990s even though i voted for Ross Perot twice. I thought W Bush was bullshit because the US fought a revolution to escape a hereditary dynasty. I naively voted for Obama twice because i didnt think race relations were as bad as they really are, plus i bought into the idea of hope and change. Most of my core beliefs have not changed but i saw that the democrats became anti white, anti america and pro open borders globalist. With the democrats being openly hostile to me i went for the only viable alternative President Trump, hopefully the populist wing of the Republican Party overtakes the neo cohens and then i will have found my new political home. The hardest part was becoming way more race realist, i wanted everybody to be able to get along, but it is just not reality. I was born in my uniform. This is a war for survival, and i want my team to win.14

This is fairly similar to my experience. I've actually had to experience it twice, first when I lost my faith, and then when I stopped being a leftist. You're spot on with the paranoia, I constantly find myself thinking "Is this real, or does somebody just want me to think its real". I suspect the constant divisions within Sup Forums are a product of enough people with this mental tic.
Luis Hughes
The fact of the matter is, there IS counterintelligence working against us. This is why I try to base everything on verifiable facts. If I can't corroborate information from more than one source I'll likely dismiss it as hearsay. This helps me with a lot of second guessing. As for the shills in Sup Forums, yes, they exist and I find myself going the route of, "fucking trolls." I take very little seriously and assume someone is either trolling or a shill trying to fuck with perceptions of reality. I trust very little anymore. This makes it easier for me to deal with complex and contradictory information. I dismiss a lot of it as people being falsehood spreading cunts. As they say in the Bible, "You shall know them by the fruit of their labor." Trolls and shills ultimately have nothing to offer and so you'll see them drop a few sentences and then fuck off. Anyway, I'm prattling.
John Parker
When I was a teenager, I was far left. When I decided to join the military to pay for college, I was a left leaning libertarian. After 2 years in the military, I turned into center right conservative.

I wasn't trying to say that there wasn't, there most certainly is, but the level of
>you're a shill >no you're a shill
>this is disinfo >no you're a pysop
is most likely a result of this level of paranoia. Probably a good thing, given the circumstances.
Camden Foster
I was pretty liberal before the 16 election and even voted for Clinton. The lefts complete inability to deal with losing the election was a big redpill to me. Now I'm more conservative but I live in California so everyone treats me like a Nazi.

Congratulations on seeing through the echo chamber. California is going to be a tough nut to crack, i see it more as a containment zone and negative example while the remaining 47 conus are recolonized. Hang in there, you are now part of the solution.

If the major cities want to grant sanctuary status, we should allow them to choke on their own shit and then dictate harsh terms for federal, assistance, since technically they are in a state of rebellion by nullifying and openly defying federal law. Its funny because most of these cucks would identify as Union if questioned about the US Civil War. Strange days indeed.

It's a part of growing up, lad A child is dependent, coun't rightly survive without suckin mums tits. Could be said we're all born socialists. But as we come of age, we begin to have interests, and a drive to take on responsibility, having made it thus far, we begin to see a future that needs saving for... which is the very definition of a conservative.

It works for me, i want to wake up in the morning and I know there is a purpose in my life. Hear plenty of stories of born again christian, but more important, none truly fall away, if they were brought up christian. Avoiding the church was Jesus' most important message to us all.
Mathew 6 Do not be like the hypocrites in the synagogues. Verily Jesus told his disciples not to build a church. Knowing they bring nothing but corruption. He said pray in your closet. And bring heaven on Earth, by living your life as it is in heaven.
Agnostic means lacking faith, undecided.
Atheist, means to know God, and willfully reject. To accept the consequences thereof. Simply not understanding God, falls in the former category.

I fucking disagree. Less government regulation, a conservative ideal, is destructive to worker’s rights. The increasing strength of corporations and corporate stoogieism is government is highly destructive to indivual’s comfort.
We need a strong controlling government who ensures the rights of workers so that corporations do not bleed the citizenry dry. Fuck loose regulation, all it does is push us ever closer to a corpratist society.
That being said modern liberals and conservatives are nearly equal in their love of sucking large corporation’s cocks.

I've heard of the latter, but the reasons they state for leaving are because they grasped alt/far-right ideology very badly in the first place. I have a 6 figure salary and live in comfort and still think this way. It is not a matter of my own comfort but the wellbeing of society. The public health crisis caused by corporations is payed for by government through the people, while the corporations seen ever increasing profits and the individual’s wealth drops.
If you just want to ignore all the statistics and live in bubble of ‘survivor of the fittest’ memery go ahead. You are delusional in that though.
Imagine if we began removing other government regulation of corporations, would you rather we return to the days where the meat packing industry bleached their meat and sold rotten meat soaked in chemicals to remove the smell? Or perhaps we should unregulated medicine, as it slows down new drugs being released.
A worker’s rights is extremely important. I already live as someone who is comforatable and relatively wealthy and can see that. All I can see you as is delusional.
Jose Ross
To add to this do you have any actual reasoning why continued regulation will actually improve the life of the citizenry? All it has done is cost them more as the government picks up the cost of corporations through taxation of citizens and debt.
Trickle down economics is a myth that is propagated by corporation run think tanks and no serious academic economist believes in its existence. There is no evidence it exists and in fact there is evidence to the opposite.
Corporate profits are at an all time high, yet investment is down. Reconcile that.

What's worse is older people who never truly left their bubble yet honestly believe that they are cultured because they have enjoyed a variety of foods or have traveled to designated tourist locations. They install harmful ideology on the minds of children not yet hardwired, based on a worldview that was developed in a life that is now dead; we have so much work to do to reverse the damage that has been caused.

Watch some of the reaction videos / responses to zeitgeist. you'll see that for most, it affirms their faith. Knowing that the bible is 12th edition plagiarism doesn't make it less believable, it only shows that there have been many similar interpretations going back for millennia. clearly reworded by those who would manipulate, and use it to their advantage, in the latest bound volumes. Then I fell down the nihilistic and hedonistic pit and started lurking Sup Forums because "muh edgy gore XD". Flashforward several years (around 20-21) and I decided to lurk Sup Forums just for kicks. Just by that I stopped being a nihilistic piece of shit in 1 year or so. Yes, beginning a business when 90% of independent business fail within their first year due to large competition. Tell me, do you have your own business, what do you do? Your attitude is entirely infeasible for the vast majority of individuals in the current economic system that is in place because of loose regulation.

It is grasping at straws to question that a loving being would doom infants to eternal suffering and damnation? That does not seem to be gasping, you seem to be willfully looking away.
Why should suffering exist if a loving god exists? No really, I have never seen an argument for this beyond 'because free will', which does not actually argue against said god's malevolence and merely his complacency.

How do open borders and multi national trade deals benefit the average working man ? I think illegal immigrants and multinational trade pacts undercut the wages of workers by altering the supply/demand dynamic in wage negotiations. 1st world nations have more stringent worker safety and worker rights hamstringing 1st world employers ability to be competitive in a race to the bottom. The democrats platform was in favor of the TPP, Goldman Sachs, Illegal immigrants, soft ethnic cleansing of whites, abortion, fixed primary, i dont think they actually benefit anybody at this point and need to go extinct.
