Do people actually unironically believe the flat earth cult or is it just a meme?

Do people actually unironically believe the flat earth cult or is it just a meme?

people un-ironically do
the cheapest way for them to realize that it is not flat is to have them take a plane trip from Argentina to Australia, or in reverse.
It is a 15 hour flight, and if the earth was "FLAT" it would take much much longer.

Yup, one nutcase lives in my town that will go up to randoms on the street and scream it in their face about it.

There's one guy who uses the UN flag and all he does is post the same bullshit images and the same stupid youtube videos

Yes, people do. The Earth is objectively flat. This belief is grounded deeply in scientific evidence.

Their not stupid, globetard

kek, so many people went for that meme

Just a meme, nobody is that stupid.

>tfw people in the 21st century can't figure out what people knew 2000 years ago

*They’re

Im glad you cleared that up

If you think space exploration/round earth is real you’re a certified moron.

Meme

The only people who believe it are people whose opinions do not matter. Thankfully.

People actually DO, that's the funny part.

It's a CIA psyop with probably actual retards that fell for it. It's designed to kill credibility of conspiracy theorists by association
>oh you think X? you probably think the earth is flat too lol!

It’s an obvious psyop. (((They))) are experimenting with methods designed to manipulate people. These techniques will be used with more believable ideas to push an agenda.

The Flat Earth Society is a joke. "People" who weren't in on the joke started to believe it because they are subhuman. And now here we are.

Pretty much this. Build a conspiracy theory that’s obviously false, but put an absurd amount of effort to support it with vague and somewhat believable info graphs. The layman won’t know enough or care enough to refute them, and it starts to trickle in. Now idiots support and shill it, and it starts to become large enough that people who DO know and care enough notice it. At this point, enough people believe it that it’s lumped with other conspiracy theories, and the refutations by those who know and care discredits other theories by association. Bonus points if it associates with the “alt-right” or “trump supporters”.

Flat earthers make me sade

A conspiracy within a conspiracy.

I went down that rabbit hole for a while a year or two ago. A lot of it comes down to beliving in things that you cannot prove as an individual.
It plays a lot into breaking down some of the fabrics of what brings our society together, eg. collective knowledge.
Although, I don't think that there's any way to say the earth is flat, and a lot of it comes from a basic misunderstanding of physics; there are some benefits to looking into it without characterizing everyone as an idiot.
I have become a more skeptical person in general just by looking into the flat-earth theory. A lot of people listen to scientists just because of their title, and anyone other than them cannot truly understand what they're talking about. This takes a lot of power out of the hands of the individual and stops people from doing much critical thinking. It's kind of appauling, and resembles the information struggle of the Roman Catholic Church right before Martin Luther. People believe these science priests, because they don't have the ability to critically think for themselves. Don't believe what a government funded organization tells you just because they have the "credentials" and "power". This being said, even if you think critically about the ball earth/ flat earth debate, the only thing the flat earth model does is provide a different model that could work equally well as the model we have.
You'll hear a lot of people in the flat earth possy claim that the ball earth is based on too many assumptions: (gravity for example)
Kindly remind them that the entire flat earth theory is based on the assumption that the entire world is united together to actively lie and trick its own people into believing that the earth is round with no seeming reason behind it.

You say that yet your beliefs are based purely on pictures and youtube videos that other literal retards such as yourself are making, while discarding all evidence that goes against you just because you don't like it.

The flat earth is very much like communism, they sound so good in paper but they just don't fucking work.
