Made in Abyss

Reg needs an adult

Reg needs another shota to ride him

Well boys, I think we can safely say they aren't doing bonedaddy's arc (as I've said from the fucking start). All you extra chromosome fuckers forget we are gonna get scenes with him and the Idofront in Nanachi and Mitty's back story. That's why he's in the OP. He'll be in the show but his arc is either gonna be S2 or never if there is no S2. I seriously can't understand why so many of you don't see that.

As for the episode. I'm glad they showed the foraging/eating scene, that means we'll hopefully see the scene Nanchi eats good food for the first time in her life. I was hoping there'd be a bit more excitement (birds) than just Habo but at least they did that right. Not too impressed with the way the creatures are being animated, it's better than CGI but it's really jarring, and the bug scene was really botched compared to the urgency of the manga. Solid 6.5/10. Hoping we get birds and arrival at the seeker camp ending with Ozen smashing Reg into the ground next episode.

Maruruk's a lucky bastard. He gets all the /ss/ he could.

This is the style they'll do spooky mode Ozen in, isn't it.

Reg is a pretty meh mary sue character and is definitely the weakest in the series, but he is fine. He is in desperate need of character development/actual backstory and hopefully the value village ark is going in that direction especially judging by the cover of the next volume.
Besides, even though I'm not a shotafag, I want other anons to be happy. Through dick, unity.

It would work much better for Ozen than for the bug or the snake, to be honest.

Is Gonzalo Sup Forums's spirit animal?

It's funny how he is pretty much the exact opposite of being nihilistic.

Habo is an adult.
Now be quiet it's penis inspection day

I bet he owns every single Daft Punk album.

Of course. How else?

How the hell are they translating these creature names? I don't really see the connection between "gankimasu" and "demonfish," or "benikuchinawa" and "crimson splitjaw" (other than the "crimson" part obviously).

I don't really know either but crimson splitjaw is a fucking sick name

I'm quite sure that they're saving budged for Ozen

More like they're saving budget for Nanachi and Mitty's execution.

stop trying to turn me into a shotacon

Made in Abyss — 01

>value villiage

You split my sides like a crimson splitjaw

It's fine and perfectly normal to be a shotacon for Reg.

what the fuck

I really hope this is true.

Why must Natt suffer so? It?s unfair

Shit show that appeals to neo Sup Forums and normalfags.

Goddamn speedreaders.

Nothing wrong with being a shotacon, user.

Do you think that maruruk wanted to teach reg how to masterbate?

This show is great. The background design alone is leagues above most others, and the setting is awesome. Shota Bionic Commando on top makes it an easy AOTS.

I kinda want to read the manga all the way through, but I don't want to rush through the whole thing and be disappointed at what gets left out of the anime. Maybe I'll just read through the chapters that have been animated as they come out.

>You fags have impossible standards.
Look at Bahamut S2 THIS SEASON.
Look at it.
FUCKING LOOK AT IT.

It is consistently one of the most beautiful animu shows I've ever seen with backgrounds that can rival those of the Abyss, and it doesn't pull of shit like the spider and the birds this MiA episode. Even the CGI it (quite rarely) employs doesn't look that bad.
And it's a two-cour.

Episode 5: birds, arriving at Ozen's base (3-4 chapters)
Episode 6: Ozen training, Reg vs. Ozen, Arriving at Layer 3 (4-5 chapters)
Episode 7: Crimson Splitjaw, furry platelets, Arriving at Layer 4 (1 chapter)
Episode 8: Tamaguchi attack, Nanachi introduction, Surgery, Mitty Execution (4-5 chapters)
Episode 9: Rico recovery, Cooking with Friends, Hot spring, Nature of Curse, Flower-field, Arriving at Layer 5 (2-3 chapters)
Episode 10: Sashimi, Ice Climbers, Mitty's Backstory, Prushka and Bonedrewd, Stairs, Disarmed (3-4 chapters)
Episode 11: Escape, Sandstone Desert, Hydra'd, Bone gets owned, Pruskhka Resurrection (2-3 chapters)
Episode 12: Rico's plan, Reg enters generator, Prushka flashback, Prushka surgery, Nanachi breaks down, Reg arrives (2-3 chapters)
Episode 13: Reg explodes, rug collection, cliff-side chase, final fight, Curses and Blessings, Prushka Stone, Absolute Boundary (3-4 chapters)

They weren't going to give each layer less than an episode, but I think we are still on a reasonable pace to include the arc teased by the OP. Some minor details can be glossed over and some sequences can be reordered to alleviate the denser parts of the story. If they are actually planning to end it with something like Mitty's death, they are going to have to expand upon it to a similar degree as this is compressing things.

THE WINDMILL IS UPSIDE DOWN ARGGGG

THEY ARE GOING UP NOT DOWN.

Look at that face, of course he wanted to get Reg'd

Used to follow that show, but the story just falls apart in this later episodes. I am sorry to say user, but that show is no longer interesting just like LWA.

>drawn child porn isn't child porn
That's true though.

Damn son please spoiler some of that for us anime babbies.

I thought I was deep into rabbit hole but I'd fuck that Mako cosplayer in a heartbeat.

Why is everyone shitting on this episode? As an animeonly fag I thought it was pretty comfy

His pink veil tail sprout is cute

you have to let it go, user. I know it hurts, but it's better to give up now rather than get burned even harder later on.

I agree with you, user, even though I still follow it.
But I'm not talking about the story, I'm talking about the production quality.

Sorry user, but the sooner you know we arn't getting a bonedad arc the better it will go for you. It is just no longer possible to reach it. We will stop just as soon as our party of renegades reach the 5th layer and idofront. I am still hoping though, I need Pruskha in my life.

They want suffering and not comfy

I doubt there are many people who wouldn't.

People have forgotten that this manga was about more than just suffering and are worried they won't adapt the darkest scenes. I saw a lot of weird complaints about how this was a perfect adaption of the manga so far but now they're ruining it by not rushing through these chapters.

>comfy
biggest red-flag to ever exist. If you can only positively describe something as "comfy", it means it's boring as shit and has no redeeming qualities.

It's okay, user. You don't have to lie here.

But Bahamut is shit.

The beetle was supposed to ambush them and not awkwardly jump towards as they stare at it for several minutes.
They're also using some really questionable artstyle for monsters. It looks more or less fine on birds and sneks, but the insect looked like shit.

Angry people will nitpick at anything. Some anons got upset at the pacing and it just spiraled from there.

There's some very valid complaints like the monster scene and the green butthole of the 2nd Layer, but nothing's really been deal breaking so far.

Something about a killer bird and the true power of reg. Hopefully we see it next chapter.

>rushing
>3 chapters per episode
Every fucking time.

But it looks amazing.

you feel reg's wrists shudder as you pass your tongue over his. Such a timid response from the warrior who bested a white whistle. Amazed at how tentative his limbs are you decide to press the matter; releasing his right wrist and placing your hand behind the base of his neck. You break the kiss, his eyes once again opening and meeting yours, a trail of saliva connecting your still extended tongues. You stifle the exasperated words he begins stammering out with a deep, broad stroke of your tongue, up the base of his neck. His words turning to gasps. Your left hand, still gripping him, moves his tightly clenched hand towards the throbbing bulge in your pants. He knows enough about himself to understand why. 'T-this is something that girls are supposed to do to do..." You lay a slow delicate brush of your index finger down the length of his chest, stopping above his navel. "You can be a girl, can't you?"

Just to clarify, they weren't staring at it. It was retardedly bunnyhopping at them from behind.

I'm mostly disappointed in the anime's use of shading, everything looks kind of flat while Akihito's drawings makes such good use of shadows.

It's strange, I'm a working artist and I barely noticed the different style on that guy, I was wrapped up in how weird and tense the scene was.

The real moment that stuck out to me with the different style was when that colorful bird thing popped out at the end

Shh you're not supposed to admit that.

Man, people really don't like this series.
I saw some guys say that there should be an anime equivalent of GamerGate because they hate this anime so much. Something about edgy pedobait or something

They didn't tease his arc in the OP, it was meant for 7chi's flashbacks.

Do you read?

Y tho?

i haven't actually seen people passionately dislike this show outside of Sup Forums

Maybe if you cherrypick. It's not ugly for sure, but the background art is often very mediocre and even design-wise generic. Of course much of this might be because of the fact they spend for example a lot of time underground, but I wouldn't under any circumstances rank Bahamut as "pretty" series.

Do you?

I wish the anime would end with Bondrewd's appearance or some other scary plot point involving him and then comes the announcement that it's a split cour anime

That's just a limitation of the medium.

You can't have good animations and backgrounds AND good shading, that costs too much for something that isn't guaranteed to sell gangbusters.

This is a best comeback to a misinterpreted post I've ever seen!

Because 3DPD and stuff I guess.

Yep, can't have everything. Oh well, in the end I.m still very glad to put a voice on the character's face and to have such pretty soundtracks.

It was the hopping that killed it for me, I don't know why they added that. Like, it was supposed to pop out of the bushes right on top of them, not take its sweet time making angry hopping noises. It's an ambush predator ffs.

The artstyle would've been fine and much less noticeable if they hadn't decided to drag the scene out for whatever reason.

I can see the complaints in some ways though
>the most imaginative and interesting world building I've seen in ages
>excellent plot setup and believable character relationships
>inexplicable bursts of casual pedophilia
Feels bad that all the best stuff has some small weird fuck in it that makes it impossible to recommend to normies

I don't really follow any anime related media outside Sup Forums so I haven't seen very negative opinions? Where was this?

...

I really hope the Narehate princess rapes reg

Now that the thread is a bit comfier how about you let Maruruk comfort your soul?

wouldlickallover/10

can't rape the willing

>should have wrote about maru "healing" reg instead
what's that thing they say about hindsight? It's like the delicate ochinchin of a maidoboy? Something to that effect

This. I'd rather they keep the lewd to the doujins. This could pass as a Ghibli production if they toned down the pantsgrabbing.

It's not rape if it's a sexbot.

How often does Ozen hang her naked? Daily?

I'm usually against trapshota but Akihito's style makes me question myself. Lolis in general and Faputa in particular are still superior though.

They completely ruined the giant spider attack, the first demonstration of how deadly the abyss is even on the upper layers and how dead Riko would be if she lost Regu. This was not supposed to be comfy. This was supposed to set the mood for the things to come. It failed.

This episode ended right before the next giant monster animation. And I'm afraid they will botch that one too.

>natt dressing up as a girl and masturbating into riko's used clothes
everything about this series is turning me into a faggot

Nah, they are saving budget for the BD's but oddly enough this is the first time I see Quality in a anime made by Kinema Citrus (or maybe I don't remember).

>her

Yeah the tension is broken when they wait 15 seconds with their backs to it while it awkwardly hops behind them in a completely different art style. Also the fact that it's a completely open field when in the manga it was an ambush from above. I guess they didn't want to spend their budget on actually making it foresty. I still have no clue what the threads are attached to, which also disappear once it lunges at them.

>there are still people who believe that the two were staring at the monster bug jump at them
Is there such a thing as a speedwatcher?

>Maybe if you cherrypick.
Motherfucker, you what? You can only NOT call Bahamut an amazingly pretty series of you cherrypick.
I quickly went through the SINGLE most recent episode and screenshotted almost every background I could find.

Continue.

>her

It doesn't count if its a robot. Its why Astroboy is such a big deal.

>I still have no clue what the threads are attached to
Yeah, it looked like it was just running across the ground

>shiggy gets up to go the bathroom
>hears sounds coming from under the staircase
>opens the door on a deeply moaning and sniffing natt
>pair of panties in his face, another pair around his waist
>third pair around his hand, which is around his natthood
>steps in and closes the door behind him
wew lad

The only thing that bothers me in this manga is the scale of the abyss. It's stated to be around 1km in diameter, which is huge by any real world standard, but that's not nearly so big as to be as insurmountable as it seems.

We get the idea that much of the dimensions of the abyss are a little weird, and that mapping is a very imprecise science within the abyss, but even so, the vistas we see seem far too vast to be within a 1km pit, especially when the maps show the abyss to be fairly "open" until the later layers.

I would assume that the abyss has a lot of caves and caverns, which is why there is so much to explore even at the higher levels, but even then, the delvers have been at this for 1900 fucking years. They state early on that things taken from the abyss tend to return to it, but a fairly sizable city of delvers devoted to the abyss surround it, not to mention the incursions of foreign groups and countries (which really does seem to defy explanation, as they are very hostile, given Lyza's run in when recovering the timestop bell, and their hostility is not treated as unusual or uncharacteristic)

With the dimensions provided, the abyss would be fairly simple to traverse in a downward direction, at least over the course of 1900 years. It's never shown that the abyss is super complicated to get to low levels in- hell, Riko and Reg ran into some serious troubles heading down to the final dive, but nothing that should pose a major problem to well armed groups, especially with the white whistles around..

Given that the effective floor of the abyss for the non-suicidal is at the Idolfront, as past that one loses their humanity, it really just doesn't seem that huge. I would have preferred no elaboration as to the actual depth, or some hand waving about the dimensions being irregular or non-euclidean inside the abyss proper. It's not like the entire thing doesn't run on magic anyway.

I did enjoy the episode though and am glad to just ignore these concerns.

> that means we'll hopefully see the scene Nanachi eats good food for the first time in her life
That makes me so happy.

Fixed the picture a bit.

You're conveniently ignoring the awful CGI Bahamut constantly uses for soldiers. No worse at least than the two scenes of weird looking abyss monsters so far.

>when user realizes that it looked like shit so he changed it by cherry picking

>starts calling him riko
>doesn't let him take off the clothes
where do I buy a natt?

I don't think he's wearing girl clothes.
