The reason we ban certain drugs and require them to be prescribed is because they are so addictive that human beings can't handle the freedom of buying and using them unrestricted.
Considering that 17% of adults are smokers and about 10% of adults are raging alcoholics, the fact that >40% of adults are obese proves that humans cannot handle the freedom of regulating their own diets.
There needs to be a new system in place where your PCP prescribes you your diet and groceries fill this prescription on a weekly/bi-weekly basis. When people are forced to stick to a 2000-2500 calorie/day diet tailored to their needs, this will lower obesity immensely as well as healthcare costs and the leading causes of death today. And since this is your doctor prescribing it to you, he can prescribe you more if you're lifting and can show proof.
What does everyone think about this? The health benefits are too great to pass up.
1. Food is not chemically addictive 2. Personal tastes and needs are far too diverse to allow for such a system to be practical 3. Public burden of fat people can easily be eliminated simply be denying them coverage or removing the welfare systems outright
Luke Sanders
>3. Public burden of fat people can easily be eliminated simply by sending them to forced-labor camps. Corrected for you.
Bentley Martin
>1. Food is not chemically addictive Why do people overeat then? >2. Personal tastes and needs are far too diverse to allow for such a system to be practical You don't think a trusted physician would know more than you about what nutrients your body needs? >3. Public burden of fat people can easily be eliminated simply be denying them coverage or removing the welfare systems outright But healthcare is a human right. Some sacrifices must be made to make it cost effective and available to everyone.
Liam Green
lots of skinny people die of heart attacks.
Adam Nelson
kinda agree. reminds me how I should watch my diet. I'm slightly overweight. nothing I can't handle but I don't know why started eating more recently. you really need to burn at least as much as you take in.
Jonathan Ortiz
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23719144 >this research has revealed that sugar and sweet reward can not only substitute to addictive drugs, like cocaine, but can even be more rewarding and attractive.
Nathaniel Brooks
>Why do people overeat then? They're fucking stupid >You don't think a trusted physician would know more than you about what nutrients your body needs? Over 90% of physicians are incapable of anything more complicated then paint by numbers medicine, and those that are aren't nutritionists. >But healthcare is a human right. No it's not. You do not have the right to another person's labor. I DO have the right to eat what the fuck I want without government approval.
Luis Ramirez
>I literally don't know the difference between a chemically addictive drug and the non-specific pleasure response
Matthew Edwards
I sure has hell don't, but the scientists who conducted the study do.
Nicholas Young
Poor people would just sell their food rations to rich people. Why do you want poor people to starve???
Michael Foster
That's not a study, it's a review. But more importantly, it's in disregard of the actual signalling pathways of the drugs in question, and to the neurological differences between rats and humans
Sebastian Wood
I'm not fat either, but recently got diagnosed with high blood pressure.
Time to get my ass into shape. If you aren't eating right and at least doing some mild exercise, it's going to hurt you.
Dominic Lee
>They're fucking stupid Yes, because they're fallible humans who were toying with things they shouldn't have. Removing the immense amount of choice and instead having a physician handle it will stop and prevent them from making stupid decisions.
>No it's not. You do not have the right to another person's labor. I DO have the right to eat what the fuck I want without government approval. And what happens when you get a debilitating health problem that you can't afford to treat and you didn't vote for a government option? You'll come crawling back to government sooner or later. Don't worry, the left is generous and will accept you back in.
The people's addictive diets will force government intervention no matter how libertarian the society is. It's better we solve and lower the drain sooner by adding some restrictions to people's diets.
Josiah Morgan
>Food is Too Addictive SO FUCKING TRUE user I NEED to eat that stuff everyday or I can't function properly, is there something wrong with me >?
Parker Long
If you can't handle your freedom you should be free to die for the betterment of society. Remove any help to fat fucks and be over it you fucking statist.
Owen Ward
>Removing the immense amount of choice and instead having a physician handle it will stop and prevent them from making stupid decisions. And also prevent me from doing what I want, which is unacceptable. I refuse to hand over my liberties because fatty can't put the fork down. And if he can't unless forced to, he deserves heart disease >And what happens when you get a debilitating health problem that you can't afford to treat and you didn't vote for a government option? I have insurance because I have a fucking job. But lets say I didn't. About the only thing I could get that would be prohibitively expensive to treat is metasticized cancer. If I was diagnosed with it, I would die, just as everyone else would, because the treatment only extends lifespan by months.
Lucas Morris
If food wasn't addictive, people wouldn't overeat to the extent that 40% of adults are obese.
That's how you measure addictiveness: how many people who use the substance vs how many overuse the substance to the point it creates health problems. >40% addictiveness rate (I guess minus a few for people with legitimate health problems) means food is far more likely to cause addictive/destructive behavior than having a cigarette or a beer.
Ryder Morales
>That's how you measure addictiveness No it's not.
Asher Young
fuck off commie
Lincoln Watson
>2000-2500 calories/day >communism How? Prescriptions essentially work as buying caps. there's still plenty of free market behind them. Just look at the US drug industry.
Michael Scott
Some people have an actually laborious job, or lift weights, unlike invariably sedentary socialists. But what actually makes you a commie is being stupid enough to say "healthcare is a right".
Nolan Barnes
>Some people have an actually laborious job, or lift weights, unlike invariably sedentary socialists. And your PCP can prescribe a bigger diet to you if you have these lifestyles and can prove it. Read the OP.
Benjamin Harris
You are a fucking retard and you’re focusing on a solution within a bigger problem
The problem is that our current system promotes the breeding of unintelligence >take money away from “well-off” middle class families >they have less kids as a result of less disposable income and more taxes >give money to poor uneducated literal retards who’s genetics gave them badly developed brains >they have more kids with more badly developed brains so they get more money >have 12 kids rather than natural selections limiting factor (they’d be dead of starvation from no money) >continue to stop natural selection and instead selectively breed stupid
The elite are selectively breeding stupid in humans, humans are the biggest selective breeding program ever done, and they’d have you believe that everyone is equal and it’s the environments fault and humans are just weak. Humans are not weak. Anything that is weak is subhuman. I am a subhuman.

THE MUTT
John Nelson
>has had literal niggers and mentally handicapped as kings
THE DISAPPOINTMENT
Asher Perez
The problem is literally just carbohydrates. If all humans exercised 30 - 60 minutes a day and ate a paleo diet we would not have a obesity problem.
Isaac Martin
Wew, i can smell your burning ass from here
Asher Jones
Increasing obesity rates along with massive third world immigration are some of the main things crushing our national health service. Thankfully it won''t exist within 10 years. Leftists would rather live in a totalitarian hellscape where daddy gov literally spoon feeds you like an infant than take some personal responsibility. Get rid of welfare and let nature weed out retards who can't control their consumption. That is the only solution.
Brayden Turner
They could, but might not, just as doctors get the perscriptions of drugs wrong all the fuckong time. But more to the point, it's not your fucking buisiness.
Luke Torres
What is Allepo?
Kevin Myers
>Food is Too Addictive
Stalin, is that you?
Kayden Wright
kek. If there's one thing commies can do, it's to ensure that the problem of surplus food goes away.
