Oh yeah, this exists

>oh yeah, this exists

No, it doesn't.

I'm still mad about the ending

I think about TTGL at least once a week, frequently more.

that's what I tell myself every year and rewatch it

Are you implying that TTGL is forgettable? Say what you want about it, but it definitely left it's mark.

Yeah, I definitely hated that ending

>those numbers

/thread

If you're honestly mad that Nia faded you're a retard that didn't pay attention to the plot

Same thing with people who say shit like "why would they kill the best/main character so early ?" about kamina.

It was great, but strangely, didn't leave as much of an impact on me compared to other series now that I think about it. So my reaction is largely the same as OP's. I wonder why that is

Personally. I just hated it ever since they left the underground world. If this weren't such a rush job and got a nice 70 episodes maybe I would've liked it more.

Still haven't seen it which is weird considering it checks many boxes on what I like.

god i wish that were me

Probably the best anime of the 00's overall.

Wish I could watch it for the first time again. Those last few episodes were amazing.

it's ending was better than how gaogaigar's ending.

Go for it. If you can put aside the massive overhype, it's a really fun series. Just be warned that there's a couple really shitty episodes at the beginning. Hang on a little, and it'll only get better from there.

You say that because you probably never witnessed Sup Forums during TTGL Sundays. It was definitely one of the board's highest hours.

You poor souls

>spamming pointless posts and threads
>highest hours
This whole "flooded the entirety of Sup Forums" idea is overrated as hell. Both with Code Geass and Kill la Kill.
Thank god for filters, its the only thing that is going to make Sup Forums bearable when R3 airs.

>Just be warned that there's a couple really shitty episodes at the beginning.
I can think of one, but strain to think of a second one.

I knew it was coming, it still doesn't make me less mad.

Every post might as well be pointless. Your post certainly is.

what is "there are no good modern anime?"

I remember disliking the hot springs episode. Didn't help it was a recap on top of it.

Rewatching this was a mistake. What a letdown.

It only got better for me. The creators weren't kidding when they said that you can appreciate this even more as you grow older.

The boringness of the first few episodes prevent me from re-watching this

Why do people say the first few episodes suck? It peaks there and never gets any better

You guys are trying way too hard.

There's a lot of conflicted feelings in this thread, its hilarious.
I still remember most of the scenes in TTGL, regardless of how many times I've watched it, it both felt like an end of era in a way, there's no more shows like it anymore, so i end up going back when i miss it.

This thread was clearly made with the intent of shitposting and that's what's happening.

That's pretty obvious, but some people do answer genuinely regardless.

They could have kept Nia around with the excuse that being near all the Spiral power turned her human again, fucking Boota turned into a beastman for no fucking reason.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Not everything needs to be a bloated episodic mess, /m/anchild.

It takes a certain kind of adult to appreciate a decent pace and good world building and characterization

>there's no more shows like it anymore
Do you mean that there are no more Go Nagai rip offs? Because I heard Netflix is producing Devilman Crybaby, so not all hope is lost if that's up your alley. And then there's Kill la Kill.

>And then there's Kill la Kill.
And this too.

I think I'll rewatch Gur- ZZZzzz

Pretty sure a retelling of an actual Go work doesn't count as a ripoff

People say this about any show that has more than two threads nowadays

We need a general board so Sup Forums can go back to being full off hype threads counterbalanced with shitposting rather than 90% shitposting spread between multiple seasonal generals, eva, shonenshit, drawfag threads and the same two-three manga threads

What we need is a more exclusive Sup Forums. We're full btw and you're not welcome.

still my favorite anime to this day

true that, I just assumed that user wanted more Go Nagai, which we're gonna get. So good for him!

the ending was perfect for a good anime that had a lame last battle

I really don't get the love for this series, especially after the time-skip the plot just seems like nonsense. Maybe I'll rewatch it one day but shows like NGE and KLK left a bigger impact with me.

Fuck yeah it does.

>lame last battle
nigga.
after the time-skip it takes time to get used to it but I do prefer what happens in the time-skip than the early episodic format.

>try to rewatch TTGL
>drop it after the timeskip
The space arc and the final battle more than make up for it, but holy shit does the anime become a snoozefest.

Yeah it slows down a lot, but i do think Rossiu is a good character, shame he becomes irrelevant after that

I thought the same thing until I rewatched it. I think it does the best job of instilling the "nevargivuppu" message in any show I've seen so far.

what ep is the timeskip at? From memory alone I can tell I stopped giving a damn after the bathouse episode

Right after the recap, so episode 12 or 13.

Episode 17 im pretty sure

Rewatching it right now. I was afraid that the fun times were just the nostalgia goggles but I'm still loving each episode. It's also amazing to see how far anime has degraded in terms of quality. I can feel a lot of passion from watching Gurren but the current pump and dump shows just don't seem captivating at all now.

I can understand and still be hurt ;_;

Here, have this user

Forced drama.

I'd like to note that quality of TTGL threads improved somewhat in comparison to just a few years back when most people would shit on it for no real reason. Now that it's no longer an entry level anime (not with SnK, SAO, OPM and the like around), Sup Forums seems to be less critical of it.
I'll probably rewatch it for the 4th time by the end of this year.

Simon had no talents other than being super determined and digging, and when the universe was at peace and there was no use for his infinite determination he had nowhere to fit into in a normal society. So he became a drifter with nothing to do but mourn his dead wife

Fine for him and he deserved a life of ease after saving the universe, but it warns teens watching that dreaming about being hero may be nice but it won't get you anywhere in reality. You need to have actual useful skills

DOES YOUR FOOLISHNESS KNOW NO BOUNDS

still got no idea why this is so famous, that was the reason i pushed myself through almost all episodes although i hated each of them, all characters were unlikeable except for mikami, and yokos character design was nice

Bait?

Don't blame the newfags for not watching the old classics. Their loss.
