National Socialism, as well as average racism, starts in places where races other than the dominant race in a population are introduced into the population. Unless the culture of the population is already against other races/ethnicites, this is a fairly smooth process. Real hate towards the other races/ethnicites really starts when most or all of them are found to be involved with criminal activities, especially (but not limited to) rape, armed robbery, aggravated assault/homicide, overly aggressive business competition, and gang activities. A few incidents here and there won't provoke much aggression towards the other races/ethnicities, but when this happens consistently for a year or so, hate will build in massive amounts. Now, you may be wondering where my point fits in here, so I'll get on with it. National Socialism or related activities begin when the original race(s) believe that strict policies, swift action, and a strong central government are the only ways to eliminate the offending race(s) and their crimes from the society. It is my belief that this is an entirely natural process with entirely natural reasons. I think that the USA is not ready for National Socialism yet, as much of the USA's population is against it, and other races'/ethnicities' crimes seem to be proportionate with crimes committed by whites.

I don't find it suicidal. I find the state suicidal because it gives people the power to cause major damage that isn't just localized but rather exacerbated.
I believe a free society and market would produce far more efficient defence than a bloated corporatist state, but I also don't believe invasion as people imagine it is a threat in the same way as wars between states.

In reality, for a country to move in that direction it needs the underlying culture, that's the important part. Politics is just a lagging indicator, I think freedom is contageous as it had been in the 19th century in certain instances in the 20th century.
I prefer a more gradual shift that renders the state obsolete in more an more areas/services, so it's not like a communist revolution where they take the winter palace and then the Germans come marching in, not at all.
