YES. Kanon has 10x better girls than Clannad.

>kanon better than clannad
>shows the most retarded being in the show

nice bait m8

Clannad's storytelling is fucking horrible, I'm about to drop it.

No bully Ayu!

Clannad AS>Kanon>Clannad

the fuko arc is shit i'll give you that

Is she any more retarded than Nagisa or Fuuko?

Did KyoAni produce Kanon in 720/1080p? Why do the BDs look so much better than the Haruhi BDs?

yes

Yes, this right here is your masterpiece

Are they suposed to be aliens? No way is someone trying to pass those things off as human.

>nagisa
>retard
Pick one.

why are Key girls so infantilized?

Kanon and Air were both awful. At least Clannad has some great moments in After Story.

Uguu-chan is very kawaii.

Kanon is great, but to say it's better than clannad is a stretch

i liked kanon way more than clannad and that's including after story

only a pleb faggot would take manufactured sadness over real n word shit like kanon

No, it isn't. I really regret watching/reading Clannad first, because it definitely hindered my enjoyment of Clannad. You can see in some ways it's really a prototype of Clannad. The aunt is a blander Sanae. The blone-haired friend is an undeveloped Sunohara. The main character is Tomoya if he had no real problems and was just generic Protagonist-man. It also never moves into adulthood like Clannad does, and follows the same old "end at the beginning of the relationship" formula you see. It's still good for what it is, but to say it's better than Clannad is laughable.

The one on the left isn't even Kanon, and that image of Ayu is literally edited.

Kanon was good you dumbfuck.

The MC of Kanon is actually Kyon with dementia.

Fair enough

I'll make one caveat to what I said here. I think one thing did degenerate between the two. As far as the "girl in coma projecting her spirit outside of her body" characters, I think that Ayu works better. This may be because Fuko is treated more like a child and not a legitimate romantic interest (the Fuko romance ending in the Clannad VN doesn't make much sense), so she feels less developed.

Yeah. Kanon has better music and its surprises were original at the time.

Clannad is quite bad at points. The art is certainly much better, but the drama feels forced. The girls in the show make Kanon's cast look intelligent, which is hard to do.

I think they probably still had the original animation files.
KEY put a lot of money into these adaptions.

Not all of them are. Tomoyo isn't, especially in Tomoyo After.

Air guy was better than Kanon guy and Tomoya

Air got a newly animated extended OP for it's BD release, too.

youtube.com/watch?v=0RdAtZOgj2w

Too bad Air sucks.

He's an improvement on Yuuichi but not better than Tomoya.

Kanon was great. And so was the VN.

Is is really that bad? I was thinking of watching it after I finished Kanon.

The routes of the two girls other than Misuzu are rushed through and the supernatural shit is very poorly explained, so it ends up being confusing. The anime (though not the VN) was released before Kanon, so I suppose they had more experience making adaptations by the time they made Kanon, so Kanon doesn't suffer from the same problems. I'm probably being too harsh when I say it sucks, but of the three KyoAni Key adaptations, Air is definitely the worst.

Everything from Key has awful storytelling

Air was alright

The atmosphere was really good

Yes, unironically

You're wrong.

Air has a great soundtrack and the animation is good

I agree that the actual plot is weak. I still enjoyed it though

>tfw your gf regresses mentally into a little awoo and you take care of her like a pet

Should I watch the 2002 version of Kanon?

Play the VN instead

Still got PTSD cause of that

>tfw you fuck her when she's like that

Play the VN first, watch the '06 version.

Clannad OP is shit compared to Air and Kanon

>Air soundtrack
so good

After Story's OP is superior to all of them. But yeah, Mag Mell isn't that great.

Best Kanon song

Was this a metaphor

Shiori best arc. Mai best girl.

Undeniably better.

Mai best arc. Shiori best girl. Ayu best pair with Yuuichi.

Nayuki is best kanon you fucking dweebs.

I never managed to get into Key main heroines, Misuzu being an exception because: a) other girls are pretty underdeveloped; b) cute retard; c) her and her aunt becoming an actual family is a weakness of mine. Everyone else is just insufferable, although I admit Nagisa becomes better in AS.

She'd fall asleep during sex.

Misuzu is my first Key love. She's incredible.

This brings me a rush of memories.

I'm partial to Yume no Ato.

youtube.com/watch?v=KrggyNW3kl4

She doesn't in the vn

How does the VN hold up to the anime? I've been wanting to play it.

It's better than the generic VN part of Clannad aka the first season.

It's good, but it looks dated and you can tell that it's an earlier release, compared to something like Clannad. The story is separated into different routes, of course, rather than the anime which combines them all together. Also it's a Key game so the H-scenes are shitty and out of place, if you choose to read them.

Thanks user. I don't mind dated graphics

First season of Clannad got fucked because of how they adapted it. Fuko's route is basically the same, but Kotomi's route got fucked hard by removing the romance. Then you get partial versions of the beginning of Kyou and Tomoyo's routes. In the anime Tomoya and Nagisa also start dating much later in the story, so their relationship progression gets fucked up too.

Gonna have to agree with you. Clannad was super generic, and I completely disliked it. A friend made me watch through it when after story was announced so I could watch that. DESU Clannad S1 is mediocre, but without it after story would be no where as powerful.

Shiori best girl. It's hard to sum up her personality in a word, and I like that.

What would you ask Akiko?

"What do you do for a living?"

Ahah~

Are you responsible for this?

...

Best Girl of the entire Key franchise.

youtube.com/watch?v=3PXPqjLkmrg

I have always thought of her as a Nagisa without the autism and the strange illness.
In other words, true perfection.

...

I wish they remade Air with a more sensible story. I really liked the summery feel it had, and mom was best girl.

You bet.

>summery feel
Not a remake but Key new upcoming work is summer themed again.

I hope they do something like what they did with Harmonia and have an English release around the same time as the Japanese release.

Hm, depends Clannad had the best humor of all three. Kanon was the comfiest and Air tried too hard to be dramatic that it just turned ridiculous quickly. Man I just want to punch that blonde bitch from air with her stupid dinosaur sounds.

Gao~

Uguugao~

There are some things about Kanon that I like more, but overall I think Clannad is the better show.

Shut the fuck up retards

Kanon is really only comparable to the first season of Clannad.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!!!! Don't talk to me! Waaaaaaaaaagh!!!! I'm super shy, now I'm gonna cry as the show is boring as shit and it needs somekind of fucking drama. Waaaaaaaaaaaagh!!!!!

both are so incredibly forgettable I always forget I've watched the entire series of both
the only things I remember is the uguuu autist and the starfish cookie girl

Funi should rerelease it.

I meant that Key should make an English release of Summer Pockets around the same time as the Japanese release. Their last VN, Harmonia, was actually released in English before it was released in Japanese.

Kanon was really comfy. And it gave me more feels than Clannad in fact. I don't really know how to explain it but the feels in Clannad felt more forced than in Kanon, even with the fantasy aspect.
I also enjoyed the Kanons' OST and the VN better.

>And it gave me more feels than Clannad in fact.

I had the opposite experience. I watched Clannad first, so when I watched Kanon a lot of the sad parts just felt kind of quaint and didn't affect me very much. I can barely remember a lot of Kanon, but Clannad fucked me up permanently I think.

Kanon was dogshit so no

And I watched Kanon first, guess people are destined with Key products to like the first one more.

I dunno, I watched Kanon first and liked Clannad more.

uguu

Best girl.

why is she always barefoot? it's too lewd
