Hate to say it but I think Raishinshi is a character they can leave out to save time and nothing will be missed.
Taikobou was one of the best MCs in a shounen that I've seen so far.

Taikoubou easily. He's one of the few MCs who also happen to be my favorite and I think that's a pretty rare thing for most people. I'm also fond of that fabulous bastard Chou Koumei and Bunchuu.
Hated Chou Koumei the moment he appeared and then slowly turned into one of my favorites.

Not sure how I feel about this, but then again I didn't really have a studio in mind. Kyoani is usually pretty on-point for adaption art styles though, so it could be good.
I downloaded Hoshin Engi maybe a year and a half ago because I really wanted to reread it for some reason (and I forgot literally everything about it) but never got around too it. I remember loving the shit out of it though, even if I didn't know dicks about Chinese mythology at the time. I expect I'm going to love it even more now that I'm not a retard.

One of the first manga I bought, really surprised to see this getting attention. Guess it was the next best thing to go after Shaman King since Takei doesn't know what he's doing (no surprises here though).

Same, I have a weird love hate relationship with his art. I hate how it's basically your generic manga art style and some of his character designs are retarded but at the same time many of his designs are crazy cool and unique, very distinct stuff from anything else out there and his coloring as you mention is awesome.
I remember literally nothing about Hoshin Engi, except I have the vague memory that Taikobo was a based as fuck MC. Is that true or am I misremembering? I feel like he pulled a lot of really clever tricks/genre savvy moments rather than just scream and punch harder. Either way I'm psyched the fuck up.

Fukki wasn't exactly out to deliver justice, it was all about stopping Jyokka to let the world continue on its own, and Dakki was helpful to achieve that. They used each other and that was enough of a deal for both, so he never cared enough to get back at her. Besides, it would have all gone to shit if she hadn't spared him at the start.
I loved that Dakki ended that way, so refreshing. Also, loved this fucking Clown, from day one he was strong as fuck till the very end he remained strong as fuck even in the face of Dakki or Bunchu.

The manga's only issue is that there wasn't more confrontation between Taikoubou and Dakki.
It didn't need to be decisive, but the problem is that he just gets schooled at the end and by the time they meet again, they're both sort of inadvertently working in parallel schemes and eventually sort of cooperating. They're the series two big brilliant scheming cunts and yet they barely get to play against each other.
