IMO it still holds up but it was also copied relentlessly by almost every single slice of life in the 2000's so a lot of the tropes it introduced aren't as fresh as they were

I just recently rewatched a couple of episodes and was pretty disappointed. The manga's still great, but looking back at this they really did ruin a lot of the jokes. In the manga the impact that makes up the punchline of most of the jokes in the series is handled with beat panels and reactions, basically giving you time to let it sink in, but the anime really just speeds through them completely ruining the timing, and thus the delivery.
Also, I watched the original Japanese for the first time, having watched the dub when I was younger, and I was disappointed to realize that the voice acting was just as cheap and lazy in Japanese as it was in English. Nothing will ever really beat the English dub completely missing the point Osaka's character by giving her an accent that actually fit her personality, but other than that the Japanese voices are actually just as bad as the English.
