Spanish guitar
Bleach's Hueco Mundo OST was too good for the arc

It's truly the best. Flamenco songs in anime are always super hype: youtube.com

A solid, driving drum beat that supports strings or solo organ into rock riffs? Why not both?

There's something magical about old school reverb and synth.

It fits the scene absolutely perfectly

If you hadn't already then take a listen to anything really by Takanashi Yasuharu, don't stop at Tiger Mas W.
ED plays before credits appear

Oh, no, I've been all over it for a while, user. Tiger Mask W was just the first thing to come to mind tonight. On a completely other note, though, I feel bad that there just seems to be no shred metal left in anime. I swear, the hardest that things get anymore is something like BACK-ON or BUMP OF CHICKEN. I want a whole metal song in the back. Just a whole thing--lyrics and everything blasting in the background: youtube.com
Hayashi Yuuki is a god of upbeat tracks

The best part about those powerful/upbeat/go-time songs is that they always last like 2.5-4 minutes each. I don't know how the guy does it. The song isn't just a minute-long loop or anything either; rather, it's a dynamic journey of more or less the same evolving emotion throughout the entire song. They're all great, even if he ends up repeating himself now and again.
Why did half the NHK ost get deleted from youtube/blocked in my country?
Source?
Big Order soundtrack.

Ironically enough, what anime used to to best was basing itself on western media, that's what never fails to give me a boner.
When the OP is way more cheerful and peppy than the actual series itself

I miss this kinda soundtrack. It just so comfy
Katou Tatsuya's style when he does orchestral tracks with percussion loops.

Wubstep used right a la Kemono Friends.

I don't know what it is about this but it makes my ears diamonds

Also for a soundtrack that literally got me hard - Aki Sora had a surprisingly amazing soundtrack

The song at 23:12 is a melancholy masterpiece
Those slow EDs that start with only a single, slow instrument. They make great OST near the end.
This, Katou Tatsuya is pretty high tier in my list.
Everything about this:

The Irish/Scottish fiddle right at the beginning gets me diamond-hard. Anyone know any other anime/movie themes with intense fiddling?

Susumu Hirasawa is the best. That's one of my all time favourite tracks in anime/cinema/tv in general.
Everything he does is gold.

Millennium Actress would be an excellent film even with a different OST, but he just elevates it that much further.
