ITT anime you consider masterpiece that everyone else seems to consider average.
>Zegapain
>explorative narration that leaves lots of wrong assumptions floating right from the beginning doing the Madoka trick of fooling the viewer about nature of the show and reality is only revealed later, but even then in small chunks
>flips whole alternate world genre on its head before alternate world was even cool
>unique world setting
>mix of hard scifi, science fantasy, post-apocalyptic and drama

Only reason I can guess for low ratings is that people go dropping it on first implication as yet another shonen mecha with unusually bad explanation of what is going on during three episode rule.

>those suit designs
my dick is hard now

The plot was really ehhh, but Kaminagi is love so all is forgiven also the ED is very soothing.

MC is probably the weakest part and I know /m/ complains about the mech designs, but I think they're great

...

seconding, OP. Zegapain is classy as fuck, everyone on /m/ and Sup Forums should try it!

Ninja Scroll.
Many consider it okay or just 'good', but it's my top anime movie followed only by princess mononoke.
It's just really pleasing from all the points.

Was ADP ever translated/

if only it was made 10 years later, when mecha CG animation has finally improved to the point where it is bearable. Maybe it wouldnt flop so hard

forgot potato

Greatest love story ever told after nutruto.

Scryed. But mostly because the newer generation refuses to watch "old" anime

Locodol. I honestly think it deserves a place alongside Aria and Non Non Biyori in the comfy/healing genre. Not enough people watched it because they dismissed it as idolshit.

>Scryed
The final fight between Kazuma and Ryuho will forever be one my favorites.

Not sure why everyone else sees it as a discount Cowboy Bebop when the setting/plot was much more interesting. I rewatched it a month ago just to make sure it wasn't nostalgia talking, and it was as great as I remembered

Isn't the plot just generic 90s space anime stuff?

Flip Flappers, even though it's more a love it or hate it thing i guess.

There's taoism in it, so it's completely different

Criminally underrated.

I dropped it because of the annoying angsty faggot of an MC.
