Personal thoughts on the sticky

Personal thoughts on the sticky:

>>- Please avoid making threads in “general” or “template” formats. Avoid chaining threads, copy-pasting OPs, backlinks, and the like.

Why? What purpose does enforcing this restriction serve? We don't currently have an "Anime General" board, like we do for /vg/ - Video Game Generals. If we had an /ag/ board we'd be MORE than happy to post there. If Video Games can have their own general board, Anime should too.

>>- Avoid redirecting all discussion of a series to a single thread. Users are free to discuss similar content in separate threads as long as threads are not being spammed.

While understandable regarding the point about disccusing similar content in separate threads, how is this okay when we're not allowed to make "general" threads, or chaining threads? Does this mean its okay to have entire pages of Sup Forums dedicated with separate threads on one single anime, as long as each thread is unique in some way? What separates this from spamming? Wouldn't it be better to have just one thread with multiple discussions, instead of dozens taking up space?

>>- As commonly recurring threads tend to suffer from degradation of quality over time, posts inside such threads may be held to higher standards in terms of rules 6 (Quality of Posts) and 10 (Spamming/Excessive Reposting).

I can't argue much with this point. It gets really old really fast especially, for example, in the DB Super threads where someone posts "Reminder that Caulifla stinks", with an image of her exiting SSJ form that makes it look like she has stink lines emanating from her. It's a meme, sure, but it contributes nothing.

- Threads in Sup Forums should be primarily based on anime/manga discussion. Consider using either or for image sharing threads, and or for generals which have long since exhausted all fresh discussion.

Agreed. Drawthreads for example should go in /i/, or whichever relevant board pending the theme. I disagree with /bant/ and /trash however. For Aniome, we really need an Anime General board.

>- Discussion should be centered on series and characters, not the posters or communities that discuss said series and characters.

More or less agree on this. I think its fine to mention a particular Youtuber, for example, in a post when referencing something they said, however entire threads should not be made about them in relation to an anime or manga they are discussing.

>- Aim for original discussion or content, both when creating OPs and posting inside threads, and allow threads to die naturally.

It's hard to always be original. Once one person has made a thread on a topic, any subsequent thread is no longer "original". This is also a problem for posters who were never part of a thread in the past, and therefore don't know that a particular topic may have already been covered. Duplicate threads are bound to happen. There is no way to control that.

THE BEST ANIMU OF THE SEASON

The board is still shit.

Fuck your shitty meta thread. Go complain on irc where troid actually reads stuff.

Kill yourself.

>- Request threads belong on or and “spoonfeeding” is not encouraged as that degrades the point/validity of using those other boards. Lurk and learn, rather than demand chores from the board.

While I agree to some extent, it's important to understand that if you're searching for Sup Forums related sources, Sup Forums is your absolute best bet to receive information. The majority of times people will even go to /r/ or /wsr/, is if they themselves have a request. I believe that if a person makes a post in an Sup Forums thread with some claim or a supposed "spoiler" or leak, other posters should have the right to request that poster to provide a source, instead of being sent to /r/ or /wsr/.

- Threads which are Sup Forums related but have no clear alternative forms (such as buyfag/drawfag) are allowed as long as they follow these.

Honestly, shouldn't these threads belong more on boards like /toy/? If Sup Forums, as mentioned in a prior point, is meant primarily for anime/manga discussion, then figures are mere material objects that don't contribute to the discussion of the anime or the manga. The ONLY time I can think of where this is okay, is if a figure spoils a plot element before it has been shown in the anime/manga.

What do you think, Sup Forums? I'd love to know everyone's opinions.

I want to fuck Mycroft Canner.

Fuck off.

Repeating digits.

...

The board would be better without OP, so just get out.

>Please avoid making threads in “general” or “template” formats. Avoid chaining threads, copy-pasting OPs, backlinks, and the like.

Why, this would improve threads about popular topics by providing easy access to info.

>- Request threads belong on or and “spoonfeeding” is not encouraged as that degrades the point/validity of using those other boards. Lurk and learn, rather than demand chores from the board.

Start banning OP's that bait spoonfeeders by posting cropped porn and the anti-spoonfeeders who take the opportunity to completely derail threads with their shit.

Public ban for OP when?

If digits get, we /ag/ or riot

This thread is now a Yuri on Ice thread!

Read the rules newfag .

Range ban OP and this board is literally saved.

My mom-wife Chiya and my wife-daughter Megumi.

I would have to agree with everything in this post.

only redditors like generals since it reminds them of subreddits

About fucking time. Generals have been cancer ever since they plagued this board in 2010.

Moot may have given up the fight but I've been calling them out for years.

>one thread

We need an anime general board.

Come on mods. Bring on the big red text already on this shitposter.

Hiro, where is that /fanfic/ board you promised?

>it's another episode of "we will purge all the generals no really guise this time we'll actually do it"

10 bucks say generals will be everywhere again a few weeks from now

Fuck off.

>get rid of generals
>three DBS threads on the front page already
What an improvement. Well done mods.

Kill yourself, faggot.

Rules won't work since it means Mods actually have to do some work all the time. Might seem promising for the next few weeks but give it a month and we'll still have the same general issue just under a different guise.

>Why? What purpose does enforcing this restriction serve?
Because general threads are cancer and unnecessary. If you have something to discuss start a thread about it if you have nothing to discuss, don't. There does not need to be a thread up 24/7 when there is nothing specific to discuss. And we don't need a cancerous /ag/ board.

>Does this mean its okay to have entire pages of Sup Forums dedicated with separate threads on one single anime, as long as each thread is unique in some way?
Yes.

>What separates this from spamming?
The "unique" part.

>I think its fine to mention a particular Youtuber, for example, in a post when referencing something they said
No, it's not, because nobody wants to give these subhumans attention and you should not care about them or watch their content.

>It's hard to always be original.
If the previous thread which discussed the topic has been flushed from the board, it's original again. Every repost is a repost repost.

Hello, ACK.

There's already a sticky, retard.

>still no ban
Mods?

...

I hope LWA generals are removed from now on

All of these rules are needed and you're a faggot for defending generals.

We have been asking for this for years. No one acknowledges this though.

That's retarded, and you're retarded for suggesting that.

>I think its fine to mention a particular Youtuber, for example, in a post when referencing something they said
THIS IS THE KIND OF CANCER THAT POSTS IN GENERALS

Check'em

These new rules fucking stupid and mods are trying their best to crash this board, starting with discouraging people posting on Sup Forums. Good luck though. The faster Sup Forums dies the better for all of us

>I think its fine to mention a particular Youtuber, for example, in a post when referencing something they said
Stopped reading here. Kill yourself. Mods delete this thread already.

USE /C/ MORE

What if I want to discuss LWA

>dont want generals
>but allow generals
>but dont allow helpful info in the oip or even cross links to previous threads
>have worse quality generals

>us

>I think its fine to mention a particular Youtuber
Only shitposters and newfags hate the sticky, checks out.

FUCKING THIS
Like that trap image dumping thread yesterday where the janitard deleted what he Didn't like instead of the whole fucking thread

OP here.

I'm sorry Sup Forums. I didn't realize there was already a meta thread I somehow missed it when I made this one. I tried to delete this thread so I could repost in that one but it won't let me.

Please have mercy on me mods.

I think it's okay if you want to talk about Re:Zero or Konosuba, LWA or whatever the fuck every couple of days. But when retards purposefully bump a thread that's on page 10 with some inane shit like "Megumeme my waifu" or something obviously just to keep the thread alive it's infuriating. Hopefully mods will start clamping down on stuff like this.

Sup Forums was already loosely structured like /vg/. Now the mods have turned it to Sup Forums. Expect Sup Forums tier garbage threads to follow soon.

There is nothing left to discuss, everything has been already talked to death, it's just a general for shitposting about a shit anime which pisses me off whenever I see it

Fuck off reddit.

ban this loser

Just fuck already you pathetic oldshit. Things don't need to work the same way for a fucking decade. Better accept how people hang around on Sup Forums has changed already

Mods remove this filth.

Someone just choke out this retard already.

And what exactly is retarded about wanting to have a thread dedicated exclusively for your favorite show? Explain, degenerate

>defending a imagedump thread
Might as well go to Sup Forums, faggot

The only time "anti-spoonfeeding" leads to thread derailment is when the saucefaggots throw a hissy fit and make it a point to shit up a thread because they aren't competent enough to find their own porn. Any otherwise it's almost always just two or three guys saying 'lurk more' or 'fuck off', nice try attempting to shift the blame though. If that was going to work we wouldn't have this sticky right now.
My final straw was when they did it to MiA and turned something beautiful into something ugly. Next faggot that tries to chain a thread is getting fucked right in the ass.
Too bad. Anime generals never should have existed to with, that's exactly why he's saying both they and you belong in the /trash/.

Or maybe you should just accept the sticky?

That's what the text boards were originally for.

>reddit spacing

We on autosage already?

Good. At least the mods know these threads are complete trash.

...

how many times have they said theyre deleting generals now

Are you retarded, friend? That is the exact opposite of what I typed.

go

>The only time "anti-spoonfeeding" leads to thread derailment is when the saucefaggots throw a hissy fit and make it a point to shit up a thread because they aren't competent enough to find their own porn.

Which is stupid because this is a blue board to begin with, so no one should be posting any porn, thereby leading people to ask for sauce.

Fucking go to /e/ or /h/ for that shit. Christ.

And watch Sup Forums turning into Sup Forums

Well, I guess scums like you are truly going to enjoy it

Die of cancer pathetic bastard

You really don't deserve to post on this board.

Generals only attract the worse type of posters and you can just make a thread whenever you want to discuss the show instead of demanding a new board that would be detrimental to the entire site. Y O U R E T A R D.

Just hang yourself already, worthless pile of shit

C'mon something good.

There's plenty of manga related threads that often turn into asking sauce, like OPTs

Been a few times over the years. They tried it like a year ago I think and went back on it. They have tried to ban a lot of things on Sup Forums before and it never goes over well.
Some of the those generals have probably been a round long then you have been posting

...

Gotta call these threads pl/a/cebo generals at this point.

It'll do the opposite you fucktard, because a slam on shitposting will only make things better instead of sending this place to Sup Forums levels before /vg/ was made.

I think currently airing shows with threads shouldn't be considered generals

>dbstards still shitposting because their cancerous threads keep getting deleted
LOVING
EVERY
LAUGH

Gotta catch em all.

>enforce higher standard of quality and ban generals
>THEY'RE TURNING IT INTO Sup Forums
Are you suffering a mental breakdown because your precious Naruto and gay porn threads are being targeted? Because that makes the opposite of sense.

Just make /ag/ and everything will be fine. Peace for all

Bring back the text boards and shove the long running generals there, that's what they were originally for.

USE /c/ MOREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Fuck yes.

I'm happy yuri threads are mod approved.

>Sup Forums levels before /vg/ was made

You've just accidentally admitted that generals are the better kind of threads you shithead

because it worked for Sup Forums etc etc memes
this is getting tiring

>Peace for all
Never trust anyone who says this.

youtube.com/watch?v=bUFWXpYJKaI

People should learn to let go and stop making threads in chains when there's nothing to discuss anymore.

Absolute mongs promoting any sort of anime general board should kill themselves painfully
Is it so hard to understand that shitposters and ledditors and undesirables will frequent both boards and just drive up site costs with no real improvement to Sup Forums's current userbase at all?
Guess it's literally rocket science since you're advertising /vg/ as a high standard for your generalshit
