If a school were privately run -- so that administrator's finances were at risk if kids got hurt -- then they would go to any means necessary to prevent school shootings.

You are really underestimating the influence teachers and the school as such has on children. Teachers are role models, good and bad. If you never integrate a child into a "mock-society" such as school, how do you expect them to function in a work place?

If you want them all to be schooled online, you should also make sure that they all can later work in jobs which have home office.

Likely true but right now we are at the Wright Brothers stage of development. A decade or so from now it'll be a great way to teach but for now you still need to do a lot of hands on interaction with your kids for them to get a good homeschool education.
