Manga/Anime: How a kid like Light sees himself in his head (grandiose declarations, evil laughter, competent as fuck)

>Movie: How kids like Light actually are.

I liked that they made him a beta loser who thinks with his dick. It's a fascinating cultural commentary.

Anime: how light sees himself

Manga: how Ryuk sees him

Movie: what he actually looks like

I think OP directed the thing.

oh shit

Let's talk about politics instead. Where are you on the political compass, Sup Forumsnons?

But he was already a retarded loser way before he had the death note.

I'll never understand this.

It's pretty straightforward. What confuses you?

but are traps gay?

Anime/manga: people in general are shit and selfish pricks
Movie: White males are evil and black people should stop them like L

Like, why HeroAca right authoritarian, kemono friends full left, etc...

So does L die here?

bnha is, at its core, a story about vigilantes authorized by the government. Their popularity and success as entrepreneurs, effectively, is a very light form of fascism that the audience can ignore only because its villains are so much obviously worse.

Kemono Friends is a Left-Libertarian utopia. No compelled work, everything is provided for, and everyone works together as a community to achieve their common goals. It's probably one of the best fits on the chart.

He lives. The movie ends with a cliffhanger, he was about to write Light's name in a page of the death note.

So, did anyone actually enjoy this movie?

Enjoy is a bit much, but I didn't hate the movie. I came out of it completely neutral.

Oh, I see... Can you explain the others, please?

Sure. Shiki is partially an in-joke, but this screencap really does a good job of laying it out.

What about one piece, why is it Libertarian

Stellvia, like most space anime, is completely authoritarian, with people's lives controlled by a central, generally benevolent government. Stellvia in particular tends to be about people coming together to achieve communal goals.

GATE is hilariously blatant military propaganda.

Zvezda plot is probably the most fascist thing I've ever seen, about a group of people who decide to use overwhelming military might to enforce their particular morality on the world. The episode where they decide to stamp out all smoking strikes me as the most blatant.

Can you Netflix tards please stop shillinh your garbage movie?
It's obvious that this is happening.

One Piece is about a bunch of literal pirates fighting back against the government. The Strawhat's guiding moral principle is that they love and pursue freedom. You can also summarize their interactions with other pirates as retribution for violating the NAP. Mostly, though, it's the monologues that cement it as Libertarian in my mind, and it works best as a series when viewed through that lense.

OP is a story about freedom.
The goal of the pirates it too be free, Luffy wants to be the PK so he can be the free.

Light's fine, it's just L is retarded. And not because he's a black, but because his character is completely fucking wrong.
I guess they had to nerf light otherwise Nig-L would lose.

Thank you, anons

Some random Pedro hits him with a 2x4 and then Light pulls a simple keikakku that results in at least one death and millions worth of property damage that somehow clears his name completely

>White males are evil and black people should stop them like
Wrong, funny enough. L more or less turns into a psychopath when Watari dies and almosts writes Light's name in the page of the note while Light KEIKAKU DOORI'd his way out of a no-win situation.

It was the least-shitty part of the movie. Still awful though.

What did Mia Sutton mean by this?

Let anime remain anime.

>Open ended choose your own path ending
>Credits are full of blooper scenes

How can you fuck up so bad.

>blooper scenes
Is this a blooper scene? 3.lithi.io/VAOGr.webm
Please tell me it is.

How the hell is BNHA fascist? BNHA is structually a modern day Japan, Nothing about the series shows its government overstepping its boundaries, there are no dictators, and the people are free to do as they please.
Heroes are also not vigilanties. They're authorized, tracked and accounted for by the government and have quotas. They essentially operate as a 2nd police force.
BNHA leans right sure, but left it does not.

You'll note that bnha is in the same quadrant that pretty much all modern governments fall under in a standard chart.

Hahaha holy shit

Still isn't fascist or authoritarian. Just conservative.

Sup Forums is for anime.

Anime is Japanese animation.

This is neither Japanese nor animation.

t. mr.nobody

The problem with the word 'fascism' is that its usage is very broad. I would define it as the glorification of governmental might, and the use of force to maintain traditional values. At the extreme you get Zvezda plot, at its lightest you get BnHA. Maybe I'm wrong to use the term fascist, but its place on the chart is still correct.

what is this? Anime/manga Light never screamed like this.

There are a lot of bad things called facism but they aren't facism. All it means is a marriage between business interests and government, usually at the expense of the people.

That's not even a remotely accurate definition of fascism. You're describing crony capitalism.

Lad, most fascists were anti-captilast. Hence, the terms "Third Way" and "National Socialism".

Crony capitalism is when the mob controls the means of production.

You are politically illiterate.

He looks like Ikuhara from the thumbnail.

You're conflating fascism with conservatism/rightism. Fascism is authoritarian and oligarchical in nature and revolves around limiting individual and economic freedoms for the sake of the state/government.
Conservatism(BNHA/Japan) is about maximizing economic freedoms while limiting personal freedoms.
Fascism is about limiting and controlling both economic and personal freedoms, which naturally involves using violence to silence opposition and limiting free speech.

Conservatism is in the same block as fascism, fascism is merely farther down the spectrum. Again, I can accept that I'm over reaching in saying that piece of the block is lightly fascist, but I stand by where BnHA was placed.

I laughed. That was an iconic hair style. I really wish they would have kept in black or brown in the movie.

making him a beta is a bad thing
he was a genius who did it for justice and power
now he is a schoolshooter with a diary

Why is Hollywood obsessed with blacks?

More specifically, why are they so determined to replace all the redheads with blacks?

is the manga better than the anime? Is the Mello and Niel arc not shit?

Just catering to its audience.

Yep, I was on the edge of my seat with chills down my spice near the end.
Damn it feels good to have shit taste, you can pick up anything end enjoy it

>everyone complaining about L
>Light looks like a meth addict

I agree that L should have been a very pale actor but Light was so terrible it's ridiculous. At least L's actor was semi-decent.

It was actually good
Sup Forums is still in denial

superheros are fascist by nature

White people are obsessed with blacks in general, whether it be loving them or hating them. Can't go a single thread without some fag bringing up something related to black people specifically.

Saying Conservatism is in the same block as fascism is like saying Liberalism is in the same block as fascism.
Conservatism limits personal freedom while protecting and expanding economic freedoms.
Liberalism limits economic freedoms while protecting and expanding personal freedoms.
Fascism limits both economic and personal freedoms.
Now I can agree with your placement of BNHA if said placement is classified as conservative. Though I don't know what you consider most modern goverments to be since most modern goverments are generally centrist given the penchant of Europe to simultaneously expand personal freedoms like drug use, prostitution etc. while limiting economic freedoms through ridiculously high tax rates.

>Conservatism limits personal freedom while protecting and expanding economic freedoms.
That's liberalism.
>Liberalism limits economic freedoms while protecting and expanding personal freedoms.
That's progressivism.

Damn burgers.

It seems like you're way too fixated on that political compass/compass thing and built your entire argument about that.
Fascism and Authoritarianism go hand in hand but anything that leans right is not automatically fascist or even close to it.
Japan(BNHA) is conservative but fascist it is not. Japan There are no dogmatic leaders, the government isn't using police(heroes) to violently silence political oppostion and it's economy is a free market.
"lightly fascist" was wrong but "right" is right.

You can literally hear the cameraman coughing.

And pic related.

How does the death note kill an android

I remember Crest of the Stars being pretty damn preachy with authoritarian/Abh(fake-Japanese faction). I don't get Japanese fantasy with elves, they're almost always written as self-inserts or superior to humans/orcs/etc

Progressivism is about social change and social reform, it inherently has jack to do with economics.
Liberalism has jack to do with limiting anything especially if we're going by classical liberalism which originated in Europe.

The turd thinks that the academy (essentially a corporation) is somehow in power.

They're a militia, fascism does not support militias. Militias are anclap 'muh degeneracy' fantasies.

Liberalism is all about limiting you stupid fucking burgerclap

The chinese?

>People are falling for b8 posts saying they like this

Not classical Liberalism which is closer to modern day libertarianism.
Modern day liberalism is about limiting economic freedoms through higher taxes, advocacy of socialism/collectivism or U.B.I. and expanding personal freedoms like gay marriage, suffrage rights, drug use, and abortion.
Learn what words mean before you post them user.

Please bother them

no u

No, classical liberalism was all about restraints.
I know what words mean, you do not, nor do you know how these garboideologies were actually enacted, nor have you read any texts on the subject.

nigger

Why the fuck do you think I'm talking about modern liberalism anyway? This entire argument revolved around placing series into political classifications, which would logically entail using the strictest definitions from their original meanings.
Why the fuck did you think I was talking about modern day liberalism which has done nothing but skew its original meaning thanks to actual fascist and collectivists who've hijacked it?

>L chasing down Light with a gun
>Misa-equivalent being evil and willing to kill Light instead of just wanting his love
>Light working with a Watari he brainwashes with the death note for extended periods.

Stuff like that rubbed me the wrong way. It was okay I guess, but it lacked the psychological keikaku cat-and-mouse games between L and Light that made the manga really good and the way it adapted some stuff (like throwing in that thing about L being groomed to be the ultimate detective from childhood at an orphanage) didn't work.
Also how the fuck did he get that page of the death note into the fire? That was some serious bullshit, having control over the means of death shouldn't allow you to control where a page of the notebook that falls ends up when it lands.

the academy is basically backed by the government to do their work though.

ye same with L on how they made him from a sorda emotionless genius in the anime and by the end of the movie he became an emotional pycho

No, its about limiting the government nothing more nothing less.
But I was wrong to say Liberalism had nothing to do with limiting anything, just as you're wrong to say it was all about restraints.
Have you ever actually read any texts on the subjects or are you just talking out your ass?

I'm talking about classical liberalism.
So are a lot of corporations. Actual private academies are corporations with government funding.

the chase seane was alright but it didnt fee llike "death note" if that makes any sense

>burgerfat delusions
Illegalizing murder and theft are both restraints you stupid fuck

No it isn't. It's superficial, boring and unremarkable.

you know if you think about it Ryuk kinda for shadowed the ending half way through the movie Ryuk threatens light by saying he will give the death note to a new owner and recommend light to be the first name written and by the end L finds a peace of the death note and well not showned its kinda implied that he wrote lights name by Ryuk laughter and lil quote by the end ( i dont remember what he said) and plus it would make sense that L will do that sense he says he dosnt kill but with what had happen with all of his emotions boiled up because of light it wouldnt be surprising if he did write his name

Now aint that something :)

>hat was some serious bullshit, having control over the means of death shouldn't allow you to control where a page of the notebook that falls ends up when it lands.

That was heavily implied to be Ryuk's doing, he wanted Light to survive.

But apparently it was part of Light's plan, he talks about it in the voice over where he explains everything.

...

my summery of the new death note

Lights face in this pic is killing me idk why tho

he has this face like " OK YOU COUGHT ME COPPER!" in a snarky bitch voice

LOOKS LIKE I HAVE BEEN COUGHT RED HANDED GOOD JOB L- il bitch

watari wa androido desu

Sure, but it only has to be possible, not realistic. I'm sure that the page was only dropped at the place that would make it possible for the note to end up burned.

>them Netflix shills getting their shitty thread detailed with political alignment shit
>see them trying to salvage it posting random shit of da flick
Ayyy report

...

I still don't understand why shitty live action thread are allowed in Sup Forums, you don't see Sup Forums have to endure thread about their shitty movies.

The best thing to come out of this movie is that westerners will never try to make another anime live action since they are always a fucking disaster

>browsing Sup Forums

Yeah that's true. Any off-topic thread in Sup Forums is immediately deleted. Good that you brought it up.
