One idea was that the Mafia had something against JFKs brother, Bobby. However if you kill the presidents brother, theres little chance of it going unnoticed. So apparently a theory is that the mafia took out JFK from different directions at the same time and just let Oswald take the blame, then they took out Bobby (who they were originally planning to) when the lights were off of him.
