Unironically kill yourself please

...

Has anything actually been animated at 60fps?
Even some short film experimental thing?

I just want to see an example of actual 60fps animation, not interpolated

Nope

Its crazy how this entire scene was traced

Just doesn't look right. But I'm also blind in one eye, so maybe I'm biased.

I dislike it.
>Unironically
Fuck off.

Sometimes it works well, sometimes it doesn't. It really depends on the show/scene. It'd love to see the technology of it improve

thats rape

When it's done right, it looks amazing though

youtube.com/watch?v=km2OPUctni4

Prisma is the fucking worst and the more I see it the more I hate it.

It's not done right if it's interpolated

It's actually pretty jarr5 how it goes in an out of mtion every other cut

on the flip side when it's done wrong it looks horrible

Maybe it helps to watch enough content like this that you get used to it, but what's the appeal? You're a passive viewer no matter the frame rate. And as-is it's so jittery that you might as well be blinking constantly for the same effect.

Not this shit again. It might make sense for live action shot at 24 or 30 fps, but anime is specifically designed around low frame rates, and uses techniques that are more applicable to a static manga in how they handle action scenes. The Saitama fight is actually a perfect example of this, its jump cuts are intended to hide the low frame budget. Interpolating to smooth the in-betweening actually makes the cuts more jarring when they happen.

I know that half of these threads are shitposting, but there remain people who actually think this somehow improves anime. Even Daiz never went that far,.

High frame rates are good when they're not interpolated and have plenty of key frames.
Otherwise it just looks bad.
It's also stupidly expensive.

It will never look right because anime have those stupid black hard outlines around characters.
Interpolation can't handle something like this even with frame blending.

so forced

>60FPS
>still has a kissanime logo
these people really are all just the same at heart

Emm... what about hentai? just curious.

Is there such a thing?

Looks pretty damn bad. Smooth animation like Akira already looks amazing and it was intentionally animated at 24 fps. Artificial framerate increase is headache inducing garbage. Literally shitting on key animator's work.

>Watching this

D E G E N E R A T E

It's questionable at best in live action and it's absolutely terrible 99% of the time in anime.

Don't use it.

>you know what this anime needs
>shitty artefacts on 60% of the frames

Do you really think that?

I'm doubting that because Kuro's ear is drawn incorrectly consistently. Like at 0:01 and 0:11, the angle of the ear is just not right.

For some cuts of this fight, I think it might be a bit better. But overall it looks worse to me still.

An example of a time where I think it looks improved is when there's a cut showing follow through motion and it's slo-mo, like when he kicks. It doesn't look distorted and it enhances the effect.

Otherwise though, it just ruins the original animation to me. The animators planned it a certain way and drew it taking into account what the framerate would be, so artificially adding in-betweens changes that. Plus, it's flawed for the added frames to be directly halfway between the drawing before and the drawing after, and it ruins the motion.

Making every motion "60 fps" also removes the modulation of the framerate in the original animation. For example, some movements are animated on 2s, or 3s, or 4s, and give different effects. Making it all 60 fps ruins that too.

for what purpose

23.976 is the only framerate

I think rwby was animated at 60 fps then they switched to 48fps.

It's retarded, animators have their own timing if you're interpoling frames you're going to have a shitty output.

no argument here kaleid is super degenerate

>interpolating animation specifically designed and drawn with very limited framerate in mind

except if the frames were drawn with limitations in mind then they can interpolate seamlessly. way to contradict yourself.

That's not really how it works when the limited framerate in question is usually 8 or 12 frames per second. The jumps, line deformations etc just won't result in any kind of good automatic interpolation.

that is just a matter of the algorithm to know where to actually start with, as a lot of repeating frames can confuse it. 8-12 unimpeded would actually be enough to work with if using the latest and greatest methods.

wasn't theater Kimi no na Wa at 60fps?

also 60fps would be almost 3x more expensive to make due to there being more frames to draw. CGI would look watchable tho

Do you have anything to back that up? Because seriously, good luck trying to automatically interpolate anything like webm related, even using the "latest and greatest" methods. On a related note, even SVP recommends tweaking its settings for anime to basically interpolate stuff like pans only (also, SVP actually charges money for itself these days, talk about w e w l a d).

>wasn't theater Kimi no na Wa at 60fps?

Nope.

forced framerates

Nah the whole purpose of 60 fps is showing something recorded or drawn at 60 fps you cant just go and make something 60fps is its orignally 30 fps or even ~20fps(anime) only adds tearing and jarring images the only thing its good for is for panning purposes where 30 fps is just not enough and causes stagger.

On a related note, here's me trying out the latest version of SVP on that scene with the "recommended for 2D animation" settings, and I even halved the framerate of the original to remove most of the dupes. I dunno about you, but personally I have zero interest in watching garbled mess like this.

Oops, was supposed to post the actual webm, not just a screenshot of it.

>60fps retarded shounen fight
off yourself

A shame that SVP isn't on VLC Player. That image would be perfect for VLC shitposting.

Filtered dumb tripfag desu :3

It does look damn smooth, though.

Who was in the wrong here?

It's so much better with the extra frames.

What if anime started to be made with interpolation in mind?

What if anime started to be made with piracy in mind?

They would shoot the shit and not give a fuck. Also see:

I can't see the difference so it's not that much of a concern for me.

This looks more interesting than Jojo. I don't know why I let someone coax me into watching Jojo over this.

>Even Daiz never went that far,

Who's Daiz?

...

Either you increase the cost and time of production ridiculously or you use interpolation. The former is not feasible for most anime, the latter won't really allow you to do anything worthwhile with animation that you couldn't already do before. Unless you enjoy seeing those fluid movements being fluid just for the sake of being fluid I don't think anime has any business increasing its frame rate right now.

artifacts/10

Interpolation is so fucking dumb

I actually used the full version of svp4 and it has a bunch of other options you can change to make it look much better than what a lot of people post without the artifacts and with better motion precision, which is really important for porn I can't fap without it

Disgusting. I wish Sup Forums normalfags would fuck off already with this shit.

You son't really see them in motion though.

You have to squint to see them in slow-paced scenes, but for something like you'd have to be blind to not notice it.

The Thief and the Cobbler was animated at 60fps, but it isn't anime.

I can. Maybe inferiors who just don't care can't tell, but any true Sup Forumsnon will spot it.

Nope, it was at 24fps. And it was also an insane project that never got fully finished.

It's easier to tell when something is "60fps" when it's in slow motion, right?

Also this looks interesting, what is it?

Thief and Cobbler probably had a lot of scenes animated on ones, but it's just the traditional 24.

>Also this looks interesting, what is it?
Holy shit lurk more

>What's your opinion of high-frame-rate anime?
I have no opinion about something nonexistent. When Japanese studios start making them, I'll have an opinion then.

>WebM related.
Fuck you off you vermin piece of shit.

It's a series Gaiafags have circlejerked over for over a decade. How underage are you?

> what is it?

I'm 21 years old and have been on and off with Sup Forums for 2 years. Sorry I don't waste my life away watching every anime in site.

*in sight.

>Bro, there's this awesome anime called Evangelion, you've probably never even heard of it cuz it's super old, but you gotta check it out!

Fuck off then, cancerous normalfag.

That didn't even look like Evangelion to me.

I see
You're supposed to lurk for awhile before posting but I see you're a busy guy who doesn't have time for that shit. To answer your question its from a classic series called Kimera.

Looks like she's moving via a fourth dimension or something.

It is a non-issue.

>Also this looks interesting, what is it?

I understand, user. It's from a show called Bible Black.

The art style for Kimera looks very different from the webm up above so I'm pretty sure you're trolling me.

Bible Black is a hentai that I have seen multiple times. Nice try though. The actual name for the above anime would be Boku no Pico.

It's from a really good series called just use saucenao.

I don't care if you want to have stupid, ignorant, and paranoid thoughts.

Etotama

One of the Haruhi Suzumiya series, or the movie. Probably the movie now that I think about it.

I thought it was the shit 10 years ago when I watched the first series, now I think it's mostly crap. Still better than most moeshit today though.

svp4 cracked when

only if you stop panicking you autistic cat girl.
