What's your opinion on remakes? Given the opportunity, wouldn't you just watch the original?

The originals will all be better than these remakes.

aside from hellsing. I unironically agree with that image

First thing I did when I opened this thread was to check if the bait picture has 2199. Since you unironically claim that its "pleb" compared to the original this thread basically lost all its value entirely.

Could have been an interesting thread if you had just made it normally, grouped them as "remakes" and "original", and had their production years included. But no, you had to go with some shitty Sup Forums tier bait.

>wouldn't you just watch the original?
Because the Devilman TV anime had nothing to do with the manga, and the OVAs were incomplete you dumbfuck.

Devilman Crybaby will be the only complete anime adaptation of the source material.

>>Devilman
Have you fucking seen the original Devilman anime? It turned the series into a bland kids' show.

>It turned the series into a bland kids' show.
Except that's not true at all.

The TV series aired from 20:30 to 20:56. It wasn't for kids.

It had gore and demon nudity too.

>waifubait and horrid CGI
>better

Is Kino confirmed just a remake? Was hoping it'd be adapting more of the books.

>Comparing scenes to how they were handled in the the remake:
-the introduction is not as pinpointed or well executed
-WW2 shots dont add anything of substance, introduces less characters and develops the plot less in more time, it doesnt feel slow or dragging, but the remake didnt feel rushed despite signifncantly more content being addressed, so the remake is preferable
-daisukes phone call is handled better in 2199 and actually shows the emotional suffering that him and his family are going through
-kodais character is significantly less mature and quite frankly unfit for the position he holds, the whole flashback sequence in e13 is supposed to give the viewer a reason to understand why kodai is physically threatening a hostage that poses no danger, but it ultimately does nothing but show how naive and immature he really is, in 2199 he actually uses diplomatic measures which is whats to be expected from a man in his position
-cutting the interogation to like 20 seconds and removing the establishment of a relationship between the characters is a pretty piss poor decision to make
-leading officers having a brawl infront of the grunts is out of place
-a ship that has what is basically an unlimited supply of materials to repair itself only stocked food for a limited amount when the entire journey isnt supposed to take more than a year, makes no sense whatsoever (it could be that I missed this but i definitely not remember them having food shortage in 2199)
-kodai explored space anomaly but doesnt make sure to collect any meaningful data, absolutely retarded and misplaced brawl afterwards
-people complain about fanservice in 2199 but the original has yuki pantishots in e2/16/.. (only reason this isnt treated equally is because the art isnt good enough to be sexually arousing)

Thats essentially the notes I took for the first half the last time I watched it. Saying that 2199 is not infinitely better is absolutely hilarious.

>LOTGH
pretty overrated show 3x3 core all the way
>Kino's Journey
Not a bad series, shame they replaced Ai with grating overused seiyuu
>Devilman
Manga all the way
Ignore 70s toei adaptions of pretty much everything Go Nagai

>That fucking ending with Ryou and Akira on the rock.

Nagai was popular with Harenchi Gakuen, but it was Toei who made Nagai mainstream.

Also, Devilman TV wasn't an adaptation. It was an original series than ran concurrently with the manga.

>Image is actually accurate except for Hellsing
Today OP wasn't a faggot

Didn't know they remade Kino's journey. That's like remaking Lain, absolute blasphemy, the original is already perfect, what's the point in remaking it?

Megazone 23 was perfect, it's getting a remake, too.

Same reason they are making a sequel of CG and FLCL, cash grab.

Learn more about Devilman's TV series history before saying inaccurate shit.

>Hellsing Ultimate in pleb tier

> tfw Iida died seven years ago.

The obvious difference is that the remake show posters all have cold color schemes, for some reason.

Jojo OVA is pretty shit compare to the TV show

This. I dunno how anyone can defend how fucking terrible the early 2000s episodes looked.

b-but the animation is good

That's cute, the true patrician way is to read/watch/play the source material. Extra points for not being EOP, but I can't expect everyone to reach that level I guess. Claiming to be a fan of something and not even touching the source material is unforgivable, though.
Everyone else is a pleb. I'm not saying all adaptations are shit, but enough of them are for it to be a trend. Like shows pictures on this chart.

If it's an adaptation of a manga then it depends on which version does it's job better.

Also, anything that uses 4 frames per second 3D animation goes straight into the trash.
